All three times I've left feeling talked down to for asking simple questions regarding nail care. TK was so hostile with me today and defensive. Went in for a mani & pedi. $55 pedi took maybe 20 minutes. It was decent I guess. Manicure? Horrible. Dipped my fingers in cold water and started rubbing lotion on my arms. Never cut my cuticles, files nor buffed my nails. Nails look the exact as when I went in. A complete waste of a $25 manicure. read more

I came in for a manicure and pedicure, and left with a bleeding toe, a potential infection, and nails I didn't even ask for. I showed the tech exactly what I wanted, but she gave me the complete opposite. My nails are thick and chunky, the chrome doesn't even look like chrome, and the French tips aren't fully painted -- just patchy and rushed. I even asked her to fix them, and she still left them looking a mess. During the pedicure, she cut one of my big toes so badly that I started bleeding. I had to stop her mid-service because it hurt too much to continue, and the cut burned for the rest of the day. It eventually got infected. They offered me $5 off for the bleeding and pain they caused, but I still paid full price for a manicure that looked nothing like what I asked for. The whole experience was expensive, painful, and honestly, disrespectful. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere that actually values hygiene, skill, and customer satisfaction. This place is very clean, and I can usually get in whenever I want. I've been 4 times now, and I'm not sure I'll go back. I haven't had a bad experience, yet there's no one I've thought was really great. One woman was quite pushy, telling me what I wanted for color and nail shape wouldn't look good and that she knew better. She also insisted on cutting my cuticles after doing the dip manicure so that once she pushed back and trimmed my cuticles there was a gap between them and the dip. Again, it wasn't a huge problem, but I think there are better people doing nail services. read more

I made the appointment yesterday for today to originally just get my acrylic nails removed because I am moving and was going to start fresh in Boise. Last minute changed my mind to get a new set and a cute design. It was a rough start for me and the guy removing and redoing my new set but in the end we both survived, and the design came out perfect. If I wasn't leaving I'd probably come back. Absolutely phenomenal service! I came in at 1PM on a Saturday and was immediately serviced. I received the Royal Pedicure and the Pearl Deluxe Manicure. Each were done with top tier materials and attention to small details was given. I usually hate long massages but everything was genuinely relaxing. This place is also very sanitary. (Something I'm very anal about.) I was offered refreshments and they were even replenished without asking. I'm not based in Texas but will be back to this location whenever I am in town. read more

My wife and I tried Alux nails for the first time. We received a friendly greeting and every worker there either smiled at us or said "welcome." The owner arrived and also greeted every customer warmly. She was not in a hurry either. Our attendants were very thorough and made sure that we were happy. I'm seeing Dominique for the second time this morning for a pedicure - I'm pretty sure she's the owner - she's always very hospitable! I request her because she gives a great massage - I keep coming to this nail salon because they give you a little aromatic neck pillow (the weighted ones that are heated) and it's something extra special - besides that, they have everything you normally find at a nail spot - the hot stones, paraffin wax, gel and dips, wine/mimosas. You can also schedule online which is convenient for us working folks! My feet always leave feel very happy and refreshed :) prices are typical for a nail spot ... parking is a little tough because it's right next to H‑E‑B and you do want to make sure to get an appointment, otherwise you might wait for a bit (but that's pretty typical for most places) read more

Very happy with our visit here today. I got a pedicure, and my daughter got a manicure. The salon is unassuming externally, located next to an HEB. But inside, it is very nice and spacious. It has a chandelier in the entry way, multiple spa pedicure chairs, and is clean. My pedicure was simple. My daughter got a fancier manicure, and she was very happy with the results. I decided to try out ALUX after my long time nail tech left the nail shop that I had been going to for years and I went through a horrible experience at another nail shop. I enjoyed my visits to Alux! I came and got a pedicure and eyebrow wax first with Jenny. She took great care of me! I returned the very next morning for a full set with Hailey. My nails came out bomb! The manager Dominique is so friendly and wanting to make sure everyone is comfortable in the salon at all times! She's running around super busy but she's so sweet! I visited the salon before the remodel and manager change as well and it was nice but it does feel a bit different! It was my first time at this salon and I expected it to be a good experience considering it had a 5 star rating . I walked in a on a Saturday , it wasn't busy but I waited at least 20 minutes before being serviced . I got a pedicure and polish change on my nails . All was good until I look down at my toes after she had finished and walked away to see my large toe nail cut around the cuticle area-- red and inflamed ! I did notice some stinging when she put alcohol on my toe nails before painting , but I didn't look down to check to see what it was in that moment . The nail tech did not bother to tell me that she cut my skin . When the man up front ( very nice man ) came and asked me how my service was , I pointed out my cut toe -- he went and got the nail tech to come look at it , and she tried telling me it was there before and I must have cut myself doing my own cuticles at home ! Absolutely untrue -- I came to the salon to get them cleaned up with my pedicure. I am upset at the fact that she blamed ME for a mistake that SHE made ! The man tried to put some sanitizer liquid on it and kept asking me to sit back down so they could keep looking at it , but at this point I had been there for almost 2 hours and I was ready to leave . I did not receive any apologies from anyone -- nor any kind of discount . He did give me a $5 gift card to use another time .. which I won't because I'm never coming back . My new go to spot! After seeing this location was under a new owner and staff I decided to give this place a shot. They definitely exceeded my expectations. I tend to be quite picky about my nails and always tend to find something I'm not satisfied with, however not with this place! The first set i got here was the gold almond nails, which I kept for over a month. There was barely ANY lifting which I was extremely impressed at. The 2nd time I visited this location was to get a refill and pedicure. One of the things that stood out to me was that none of the services seemed to be rushed. My nail tech took his time on my nails as well as the lady who did my pedicure. I'm used to my massages lasting about a minute on each leg and being completely rushed. I have a baby face which tends to have an affect on the quality of service I receive. When receiving my pedicure the nail tech set a timer to ensure I received the entire massage and she did so amazing. All staff seemed extremely friendly. Overall 10/10. Check it out! read more
