I'll be honest and say I came in around an hour before they closed. They could have turned me away but did not. The salon itself is modern and nice. There was not a bar that I could see, so I was not offered anything to drink. The gentleman who did my nails seemed to be in a rush to finish my nails. I left around 7:30ish. I stated that I was new in the area and was looking for a new nail shop. So maybe the poor service was so I wouldn't come back. I was charged $70 and tipped about $20. Take a look at my pictures, the white powder I brought with me. Because they don't have glow in dark white powder. I asked for clear acrylic on top but was literally denied it. The nails are not smooth to the touch. The glitter is poking thru the top coat. The nails are very thin. This is a brand new set. We took off my old set and slapped this one. I should have only asked for a refill. I had quality work before this. I'm very embarrassed by these nails and will be removing them soon. Don't take clients just to rush the work. read more

I always say there's no good nail shops in north Houston. This place convinced me to never step foot in a nail shop again. I called a week in advance to make an appointment and they said I was too early and I should call the day before. I ended up calling two days before and they scheduled me. They were good at practicing social distancing, however I noticed some weird things. When I was getting a pedicure, there wasn't a screen between me and the worker, but there was one with the girl across from me. They also checked the temperature of certain girls when they walked in, but they didn't check mine. Nail techs also were not wearing gloves when doing manicures. During the pedicure, the woman cut me a few times. She ended up leaving a scratch on the polish and leaving calluses on the sides of my feet. I was happy to see the other woman start my full set during my pedicure. We eventually went to the chair and she started doing the acrylic. She sighed when I showed her a picture of the design I wanted. I should have known she didn't know how to do it. I saw her spray alcohol on one of the tools, but I don't think that's the proper way to clean nail tools. She also cut me three times while doing my nails! She cut herself as well. There were young girls messing with the polish and she kept looking at them while working on my nails. She was definitely distracted. The nails don't look ugly, but it's not what I asked for. She forgot that I wanted my eyebrows waxed, so I reminded her. It was the only good part of this whole experience. In total, I paid $103 for them to do mediocre work. On top of that, my nail was really sore the next day from the cut. I've been putting alcohol and ointment on the cut so it doesn't get infected. I was considering getting my lashes done here, but I'm so glad I didn't. The service isn't even on their menu, but she said she does strips and individuals. Moral of the story, I'll be doing my own nails for now on. I'm DONE with these nail shops doing below average work. read more

After seeing such good reviews about this place I definitely wanted to check it out! Unfortunately this was a classic case of expectation vs. reality. My first red flag was when I asked my nail tech (forgot his name but he's the only man there) to redo the mail he just did because he cut it crooked and it was off center going to the left and he blamed it on my finger. Aside from that they continuously disrespected me and other customers in Vietnamese. They clearly didn't think I knew Vietnamese nor do I look it. Which is clearly why they were so comfortable name calling and using profanity of not only about me but other customers. To be honest I wouldn't care how much mess they talked as long as they did a good job but the photos will speak for them selves. I'm out 85$ for a set I hate. Well lesson learned and hopefully others will be warned of this salon! Also if you plan on going with a gal pal for a pedicure they don't take you both to where you can sit next to each other (like other salons) they only take one at a time leaving one of you ready about a hour before the other one read more

Small quaint nail salon. Upon my entry I was not greeted but I spoke to the staff that was available. I came at 9:15 didn't get seated till 9:30. (No customers were being serviced) I got a pedicure with Shellac for $40 it's a great pedicure. I was offered a glass of red wine as I sat in a massage chair. The way the staff takes clients is quite different. As soon as someone comes in they take them instead of honoring present clients. Be prepared to wait i mean wait. I won't be back. read more

Today, I needed to get my nails done and I didn't want to drive so far out and I believe I've found a gem in D&V Nails Spa. They were not busy for a Saturday which is understandable since they are a relatively new establishment so people will be skeptical to go here. Once I walked in, I was greeted by the owner and she ended up doing my nails. I got a full set dip powder done today and it was only $38. Once we decided what I was going to do, I was directed over to where the selection of colors were. They have a pretty nice selection and the lady that did my nails were kind enough to help me out with the color that I wanted. She removed the nails from the last time I got them done free of charge since it was my first time there which was very nice. She made small talks the whole time and I was very appreciative of that. Okay so this morning I had an appointment for 11 but it got pushed back to 12 and it was only 10:23 so I looked up a nail shop near by and found them they were to 13 min away from my appointment . So I went in and told her what I wanted and she started on my coffin nails but I didn't like how she did the shape because I have big fingers and once I told her she had no issues fixing them to how I wanted and they were perfect in shape and length like she didn't even get mad like the other ppl do and she laid the Acrylic so good that she barely had to file my nails . I went here to get my first pedi in probably 12 years (hs grad) I chose them based on their reviews. I walked in and told the lady I wanted a pedi. She said okay pick a color. I went to the wall and chose one. About 15 min later I was in there chair. The tech shows me the services and has me point to the one I want ($35 green tea) It was GREAT! We finish I go to pay and she says $52. I ask why. It took 3 of then to explain the polish I chose is gel and costs $15 extra. I asked what does that even mean, I had no idea and then asked how would I know that there's no sign. She responded you get pedi you should know and of you don't know you should ask. That doesn't even make sense. Why not put up a sign and more importantly why do you assume everyone who comes in has done this before!? I was very disappointed needless to say. I made the appointment for shellac and pedicure- however, I changed my mind after looking over the pictures again. I was surprised they were able to accommodate since not all technicians do acrylic. I was offered wine, water or soda so I obviously chose wine , picked my color easily due to the set up, and sat in my comfy ass (worth turning on) massage chair. The service was phenomenal from the beginning to end! The owner, Vi, was able to come over half way through my pedicure and start on my nails- I like that I didn't feel rushed by having them both started immediately. So I just moved back to Houston from D.C. and have been looking for a good nail salon. I'm very particular about my nails but I tend to give people a chance. I decided to give D&V nails a try since they have good ratings. I walked in on a Saturday around 1, they immediately acknowledged me and I didn't wait long. They have a great variety of color options. I got a regular pedicure, gel manicure and wax. Peter did my pedicure and he did an awesome job! My manicure was ok. I didn't get the lady name because at the end I didn't care to. She never asked me what shape or if I wanted to cut them down. Overall, my nails looked good but then I noticed that the polish on my thumb wasn't done properly. It almost looks like she missed a spot when she did the top coat. While she was doing the gel polish, it seemed she didn't have much experience with this kind of polish. She also did my wax, all I can say is that she's rough.
