I am posting my story because the owner responded to my original post, lied about what happened, and posted my daughter's name. He is a bully.
My daughter and I visited Milano in Magnolia three times. The first time was back in May. We both had Shellac done on our nails and just wanted a polish change on our toes with flowers.
The girl who did my nails did a pretty good job. My only complaint was that she put Shellac on my toes, even though I specifically told her to use regular polish. My nails looked good, so I didn't say anything.
My daughter wasn't as lucky. She had a male nail tech who didn't allow enough drying time between Shellac layers, and they looked terrible. He also cut several of her fingers with the nail file. We didn't complain that day, but the next day, her nails and one of mine chipped. We went back to the salon the day after the service (not weeks later as the owner claimed). I asked for a refund for my daughter's nails only. We were leaving for a vacation and didn't have time to have them redone. Every single fingernail and toenail was chipped. The owner refused to give us a refund and was very nasty to us.
The young guy behind the counter was much nicer and offered a gift card, and he said they would redo my chipped nail when we came in.
Two weeks later, we were back in town and went to the salon to get our nails done. My nails had grown out, so I asked the same young guy if I could just get my nails redone and get a discount for the chipped nail. He gave me a $15 discount, which I thought was more than fair.
This time, I asked for two female nail techs. The two girls we got did a great job. The only issue we had was that they charged my daughter the standard $5.00 fee to have the polish removed. Since they had messed up her nails, I didn't feel this was right, and her gift card didn't cover the cost of getting her nails done because of this.
Fast forward to two days ago. We really needed to get our toes done. We both still had the original Shellac from back in May. We made an appointment and went in. The young guy brought us to two chairs and sat us down. My daughter got a male tech again, and he started on her feet. He told her it would be $5.00 to have the Shellac removed. We knew they charged this, and it was fine.
Twenty minutes later, my daughter was almost done, and no one had started on my feet. Here's where it goes south. I asked if anyone was going to do my feet. The young guy at the desk said he didn't know I wanted my feet done. I made an appointment, and you sat me in a pedicure chair. Exactly where was the confusion? At the same time, the guy doing my daughter's toes was struggling to put a flower on her big toes. He didn't allow the polish to dry enough, and it was smearing. He blamed my daughter and told her if she got Shellac, this wouldn't be happening. I told him we have had regular polish and flowers done for years and never had an issue. I told him to redo her big toe, and he started yelling at us.
Now my nails still hadn't been started. Finally, a young girl showed up and told me it would be $15.00 to remove the Shellac on my toes. I said, "What? It's $5.00." She said the owner told her to charge me $15. Now I felt like they were targeting us personally, so I told her, "Never mind, I won't get my toes done." The guy doing my daughter's toes was having another fit because I wouldn't pay the $15. She asked him to stop yelling at her. He then told her to get out of his chair and leave. Her toes were not finished. He told the owner my daughter told him to shut up.
This was an outlandish lie! That NEVER happened. I was standing right there. I told the owner that, but he screamed at my daughter so much that he made her cry. She never spoke a disrespectful word to either of them.
I told him we were leaving and would not come back. We did not pay for her toes since they weren't finished, and he kicked her out of his chair.
The owner is abusive to women and young girls. Please don't use this salon. read more
