There are several personal imperatives I have for a nail salon, of which cleanliness is paramount. M Nails, a salon right off Gosling in a tiny, nondescript shopping center, achieves this to a nine. A sign at the front desk announced their recent price increases, citing new plastic linings for pedicure tubs and sterilized sets of cleaning tools for each customer as their reason for the uptick. I don't know about the next person, but I'm more than happy to pay the slightly-above prices for a mani pedi if it means that I get to listen to the delightful noise of a technician ripping open a new set of tools for me as they send it into the delicate nail beds of my hands and toes. Speaking of prices, regular pedicures are $20, while an extra five dollars affords you the spa pedicure, which means ten extra minutes of pampering. I've visited twice already and both times, I was happy with the level of care and attention to detail. On my second visit, I chose a pale white color and was impressed with the way Anna carefully studied each nail after the requisite two coats and brushed a third, even fourth coat on some nails to ensure even coloring. Both times, I opted for the spa pedicure. Today, I was a little disappointed by the soft massages and the careless toweling but my last visit had been far more luxurious, with a full callous remover, hot stone massage, and an intense calf and foot massage that made the back of my head tingle in the most delicious way. It would seem that the quality of your spa pedicure really depends on two factors: (1) your technician, and (2) how busy it is. M Nails seems to be a popular destination (in fact, it would seem that most of the cars in the lot are their customers), so definitely call ahead and make an appointment if you can. Also, if their sanitary methods and skills don't persuade you to pay a visit, perhaps the promise of free soda, wine, and mimosas will get you through the door. It brings the salon experience to a new level of relaxation that I, for one, plan to return to again and soon. read more

Horrible service, I'm 7 months pregnant and went in to get a pedicure since I can't do it myself. The lady who did my pedicure was super aggressive and cut me multiple times. I had to stop the service because she got a cotton ball and cleaned the blood off my skin to use the same cotton ball and clean my other nails with. The owner didn't even care and I still had to pay the full amount for the pedicure even though I didn't get the full service. read more

I've been disappointed the past two times I have gone in. 1st and for most I do not feel they are Covid safe as there is no sanitizing and close contact without gloves and some without their noses covered. Second off, they actually file down your nails for gel manis which is a big no no and their gel manicures have only lasted 3-8 days before chipping away like a bad relationship. P.s I've gone serval times. Time to move on. I came here with a friend that started coming over here and they did a really good job on a manicure/pedicure combo. The place is quaint and kept very clean. The ladies are really friendly and easy to talk to and the owner is really sweet. My friend absolutely loves how her nails turn out, and even when they grow out they still look really nice. I even have to admit they look better than other places I've gone to with her. Definitely worth the trip and prices are very comparable with other places. Great experience all around. read more

Nice little nail salon close by the house. The ladies there were very nice and the place was clean. Only thing I didn't like was they charge extra for things that should be included in a $25 pedicure. I got charged $3 for them to scrape my heels to smooth them. Don't go here. Just don't. I'm so pissed. The first picture is before they "fixed it" the second is after. I just wanted a refill (the color doesn't even reach my cuticle) and a color change. Literally, what the HELL is this? Not to mention the acrylic that is CAKED under half of my nails that I asked them to repeatedly take off. And to top it off, they were rude. I'm very nonconfrontational, kind of shy, but I kept politely asking them to correct mistakes that I haven't had any other nail salon make! And they were dismissive about it. That was just the manicure, the pedicure lady was somehow meaner, didn't direct me where to go to dry my nails, didn't help me with all the stuff I was carrying (so I waddled around aimlessly with my arms full until I found where to go) and when I got a look at my toenails, they were uneven with an area of color missed on each toe. I grabbed the nail polish and finished it my damn self. I'm never coming back here. I've never had such a horrible experience at a nail salon and left so anxious and hurt and pissed. read more

First time here. Wonderful experience. Very clean and modern shop. My appointment was with Mary. Very sweet lady. I got the deluxe pedicure. If you have the extra money to spend on this service PLEASE get it. Worth. Every. Penny. Mary has a very soft touch which is nice for some but I prefer a more aggressive touch. Although Mary did an awesome job, I think that her brush technique on my hands needs some work. Which brings me to the next point. It appears that there's only one lady that does all of the manicures and the other ladies do the pedicures. Odd set-up in my opinion but that's just me. A friend and I came in Sunday for a mani / pedi. When I walked in, the tech seemed annoyed to see me, and rushed me to the pedicure chair though I told her I wanted to wait on my friend. I requested a refill and deluxe pedicure. The pricing was reasonable, but the service was TERRIBLE. My manicurist kept yanking my hand around if I didn't move it quickly enough for her, she cut up all of my cuticles when grinding down the powder, and one nail was chipped just after a couple hours. A couple walked in about a half hour after we had been there, and the techs were very friendly offering them mimosas and making small talk. No one asked us if we would like one, and our techs hardly looked at us much less made small talk. Upon paying, we did not get a thank you, goodbye, or please come back. I wish I would not have left a tip as good as I did because it really should be based on service, and that was definitely nothing to write home about. We will not be back. read more

The salon is clean and modern. Everyone was friendly and they seated me quickly as a walk in. The pricing us very competitive and i love the package bundles, only wish they had one for the deluxe spa mani/pedi. Since they dont i selected the deluxe pedi and spa mani. The overall service was great, amazing massage, bith ladies Anne and Tina were very nice. Tina did my toes while Anne did my nails, which is already appreciated, it gives me down time and gets me in and out quickly. The only thing i did not like that resulted in 4 stars is the polish on my nails is a little sloppy, and i felt rushed to pay and leave after finished and ended up ruining 2 nails in the process. It would be best to allow clients the option to pay prior to polish being applied or allowing them as much time as they need (of course busyness in mind) to sit and allow nails to dry completely. I am very happy that I found this nail salon! Couldn't be happier with the service and my nails have remained beautiful for over 2 weeks!

Let me start by saying that I had great expectations from the reviews and pics online; sadly, my expectations were not met, they fell far below:( While I originally thought the the staff was nice and the salon was clean, the services were awful (and that is putting it nicely). I will further explain the issues with the services in my review, but I'd like to point out right away that if you have a bad service and contact the owner Huy on here, you will not receive customer service of any kind. No ask for you to come on to have a "re-do" and certainly no refund. She refers you to Call someone named Quynh. This Quynh is apparently far to busy to email you back, thus they will just ignore you. So here is the experiment I had: I went in for a mani/ pedi, with additional acrylic tips (as I had broken several of my nails cleaning after the hurricane and wanted the all back to their "normal" length). First, the pedi experience was sub par- polish chipped within two days and cuticles were not fully trimmed. I could have done a better job myself (and that is not a compliment). Second, manicure (if we can call it that) consisted of terribly done cuticles, which were not done until after the completed acrylics/ gel polish, which I had to request- I've never had to ask to have my cuticles trimmed. When I noted that the cuticles were not fully trimmed to the tech, as you could blatantly see that they were not done fully/ well, she told to just put Vaseline on them. Then, the gel polish was not smooth. One, because you could tell there were acrylics under the polish (obviously a filling issue) and there were bubbles that eventually "popped"/"opened" and the gel literally peeled off. I had an important event that Friday, where my nails looked awful:( so after spending over $80 at this salon, I had to spend over $100 at another salon to fix my nails. Again, contacting the owner (who appears as Huy on yelp) was no help. No refund was provided, and emails are ignored. Customer service/ making things right is not their priority- "quick and dirty/ in and out" Service is what you get. Disappointed:( read more

I've tried more places than I care to admit since I've moved to Houston. Now I won't go anywhere else. It's best to have an appointment if you want Quynh (the owner) to do your nails, because she is so fantastic she books up fast. I never feel nervous about expressing what I want and being picky, but she's also the first nail tech I've ever trusted to use their artistic views. I love my nails every time she does them, and I always look forward to sitting and chatting with her as well. If I could give M Nails and Quynh 10 stars I would. read more

I'm disappointed in this place. I was hoping I found a good nail place close to home but I will not be returning. The lady doing my manicure was very rough, pulling my hand aggressively. She didn't do much cuticle cutting, filing, nothing. A basic manicure cost me $16! That's ridiculous. It was nothing special at all, took her 15 minutes tops. My pedicure was ok. Again nothing special. I got the $28 pedicure and didn't get any bottom foot scrub. Just a plain cuticle cutting and color. I'm shocked this place is still in business.
