When I explained that soaking my hands in a bag of acetone irritates my skin, the technician dismissed my concern, saying that wrapping each finger individually "takes too long." I calmly expressed that I needed to be mindful of my body and health -- something I don't believe should be up for debate during a service. Rather than accommodate this in a respectful way, she wrapped my entire hand in a large piece of foil like a mitten and poured acetone over it. At the same time, both she and a colleague began speaking to each other in another language, and while I can't say for certain, it felt clear they were speaking about me. It was uncomfortable and unnecessary. I made the decision to leave, and when I tried to dry my feet (as I had just started a pedicure), the technician abruptly pulled the towel away, saying it was "only for hands." I walked out with wet feet and a really negative impression. My daughter was with me and even she commented on how tense and unpleasant the interaction was. She told me she appreciated that I stood up for myself, which, at least, was a small silver lining. I wasn't trying to be difficult -- just trying to take care of my skin -- and I left feeling dismissed and disrespected. I won't be returning, and I wouldn't recommend this salon to anyone who values being heard and treated with basic courtesy.

It seems like the salon may have been testing out a new employee on paying customers, and that is completely unacceptable. If you are going to train or test a new person, that should be done on staff members, not customers who are paying full price for a professional service. The pedicure was not done as described on the menu for the service I selected. When I got home, I noticed I still had a lot of dead skin on my feet, which should have been removed during the pedicure. On top of that, the nail polish application looked terrible. The whole service took two hours, which is way too long for a pedicure. It was obvious something was wrong, and the managers were walking around the entire time. I do not understand why no one stepped in to check on the situation or correct it before I had to bring it to their attention myself. I told the manager the service was unacceptable. The amount of time it took, the poor polish application, and the fact that I was still charged regular price made the whole experience even worse. Manager then had someone else correct polish. Customers should not be used to train new employees while still being expected to pay full price. It is unfair and unprofessional.

I have a really wide nail bed, so I have to get longer length and she talked me through that and assured I was very happy with what I got.
