This place is amazing!!! I only had 30 min for a full set and I came in with damaged nails and three broken nails... a complete disaster to work with. Never ever going back here. Such a shitty place! I made several complains on how I didn't like the way my nails were looking while it was being done. The worst experience of my life. I just recently moved to Maryland from Texas. I have a bad in grow problem so I go to the nail shop once a week and since I moved didn't have time to go, to get it out. So I was in the area white oak and I was looking for a nail shop to go to. So I found one on yelp and decided to give it a try since they have a good rating. I walked in then the man asked rudely what do want? No good morning no hellos. The lady came up and asked again what do you want? I said nicely a pedicure please she then said pick a color so I went to pick my color. I took my time to pick my color so o guess my nail tech got mad and said hey come here sit with an attitude. So I went to my seat but I was mad I wanted to cuss her out but I am not that type of person. Her name was LAM she was rude, unkind and disrespectful. I mentioned to her that I had a bad in grow and that she needs to go in deep to get it out. Then with an attitude she said go to a doctor and that was it for me. How rude can someone be? then on top of that her and her partner sitting next to each other talked s*** in their language. The good part is I have an app that translates so I pressed and recorded them. I will never ever go to this nail shop and I would recommend it to any of my friends or family. P.S. I made an appointment for 3:00 and arrived at 2:56. I sat without being acknowledged for 20 minutes and then was told I would be taken in 5 minutes. I ended up leaving at 3:45 because they still weren't ready for me. This was my fifth time going and my last. Go to True Nail Spa in White Oak instead! Do not come to this nail salon. To begin I sat in a chair soaking my feet for 30mins without anyone saying a word to me. I had to ask how much longer it was going to be before I could have my pedicure started. Then in the middle of my pedicure, the lady started to scrub my feet really hard, so hard she made me bleed. All I got at the end was an hour long, below decent pedicure and a band-Aid. Hoping this does not cause an infection cause the place is not clean at all. Do not waste your time or money. Nail technicians aren't update to with various nail shapes or trends. Technicians do not craft acrylic nail specifically to your nail bed, rather do a general set and shape inconsistent with what you asked for. Overall they do not pay attention and rush their work a majority of the time. read more

Easily the best nail salon I've been to in MC. The ladies are friendly, they don't try to incessantly up-sell you, they do a good job, and the price is right! The pedicure massage chairs are super comfy and they have nice flat screen TVs and a decent selection of color choices. I came to Nail Art & Spa for a mani/pedi after a disastrous experience elsewhere. My research paid off. I made my appointment at the start of the day and there were only a couple other customers when I arrived. It was busy by the time I left! Even though it was busy, conversations among staff were in quiet tones, lending to a relaxing atmosphere. The place is bright and clean. My manicurist was Dee (Thy?) and she was fabulous! She was fast but very attentive, asking me my preferences on any number of things, such as my desired shape for my nails. My feet were so abused when I came in that they would have grounds to sue me, but she dealt with them handily and I left feeling pampered. She was just as conscientious with my fingernails. Perfect job! and a great value. The only place for improvement that I noted is that the pedicure seats are set a little close together so there isn't a whole lot of room to put your belongings. A coat rack or cubbies would help, particularly in winter. I'll definitely be going back. read more

Will not be returning. Unfortunately, I was unable to make it to my usual spot near my place in Bethesda so I opted for this salon instead since I was in the area, I should not have done that. The nail technician was rough with my feet during the pedicure, I was pinched a couple times, and she was unhappy with my request that she not use an electric nail drill on me. It has been proven that they can cause irreparable damage to the natural nail bed and I've already experienced that once elsewhere a long time ago. There's absolutely no need for that to be used anywhere on me. The final straw was her cleaning underneath my toe nail with a nail cleaner and intently placing the dirt on TOP of my FOOT instead of the towel that was underneath my feet. Regardless of her intention it was extremely rude and inconsiderate. I will find the photo I took in my phone and post it if I haven't already deleted it. I don't assume that her poor service speaks for all of the technicians in the salon, but I will not be taking a chance with that. My apologies for not having her name. I haven't been satisfied with the nail salons near me so I looked for other nail salons in Silver Spring. I saw that this one got great reviews and was not too far away. I am very pleased. I had a mani/pedi and eyebrow wax. The place was very clean, did not smell of strong chemicals. The eyebrow wax was nice and one of the most painless ever. She used strips instead of hot burning wax and it was just as effective. The prices were also really reasonable, $32 for mani+pedi and $8 for wax. read more

I am from Brooklyn, New York and my family member requested I used their services. I checked in as a party of two for mani and pedi, I waited shortly and my grandmother waited for more than a hour. I was not accustom with their policies, so as Helen began my pedicure services I asked her to cut my cuticles. She replied "they were not reliable for any infection that may occur after doing so". Initially I insisted it is apart of the procedure for a pedicure, also to soft scrub my feet properly she replied "$10.00 extra to scrap" and I refused to pay extra for a package service. On the other hand, I wanted to treat my grandmother to enjoy our services together, could you believe they were placing "white" clients that came after us, in front her wait time. Spitefully, they were beginning the other clients services with mani and then transferring them to the pedi station while my grandmother waits to just begin our pedicures. Finally they placed her and the worker was screwing her face in disgust. In addition, I noticed I was not getting the same leg and arm massages and detailed treatment as "white" clients that were getting the same services. I told Helen in the begin about my eyebrows and two workers rushed did them right before the store closed. At the time of payment, the worker was aggressive and wanted to hurry payment for $78 (1 manicure, pedicure and eyebrow service), I wanted to tip but I had enough of their rush service and she refused to give me a business card with name. read more

The reason I visit this salon quite frequently is because it's clean and well organized. A big plus, the staff is experienced and friendly. I have received the best pedi's and color gel mani's at this spa! The tools they use to complete their services are sanitized for every client the correct way! My only advice if you are in a rush to get serviced on a Friday or Saturday, please make an appointment they can get busy, if you don't make an appointment do not complain about the wait. read more

I found it clean. Any wear shown is age & traffic, but there wasn't much wear. It's roomy. The staff is very friendly & I haven't waited. I also greatly appreciated that there was no talking on phones while servicing clients. I only saw a little phone use and that was when a manicurist was free or off-duty. I tried this place a few days ago after reading some mostly good reviews. I have been searching for a while now to find a good nail salon that I can make my go-to place. Well, I found it! I didn't make an appointment and they could take me right away, they weren't extremely busy (it was the middle of a week day). For $32 my mani-pedi looked great. The nail tech I had was very cautious to make sure she didn't miss anything and was very careful to pay attention to the little details. A big plus for me was seeing the tools come out of a CLEAN AND FRESH package. Too often I have been to salons that use old tools that have been lying around and who knows what type of bacteria is on them. The salon itself is clean and looks nice and not all run down like some. Overall, I was very pleased and will be going back. Maybe I lucked out with the nail tech I got as a walk-in, but I can only hope next time is as great! read more

Liked the atmosphere. Came in around 5ish and was seated in a matter of seconds. I'm from the south so Im used to a chatty salon..wasnt very talkative, but it was relaxing. Today was my first time visiting Nail Art & Spa, and I chose it because it had gotten pretty good reviews on yelp, which is usually reliable. I only went for eyebrow and lip waxing, but, let me tell you, I had a very good experience and will definitely be making this my permanent Silver Spring area nail salon! The place is very comfortable and well kept, clean and easy to find. I was attended to after about five minutes. Now, I am very picky about the way my eyebrows are waxed, and, coming from New York City, I know a good waxing when I see one. I let the woman who was waxing me know what I wanted, and she did exactly as I asked. It was as good as any other salon, and even better because the prices are so great! ($8 for eyebrows, $6 for lip). All in all, a great experience, and I am happy that I listened to the previous reviewers! I would definitely recommend this place! read more

Went about a month ago and the nail technician "Nick" did a fantastic job on both my Manicure and Pedicure. He was attentive to making sure I was comfortable and he took his time with painting and everything else that goes with a mani/pedi. The price is reasonable and definitely worth every penny. I will be returning to this salon from now on to get both done. I have been to other salons in the downtown Silver Spring area - and they are ALL horrible. Not a fan. I decided to pop in here for a brow wax, after noticing it on my way out from the dry cleaners across the street. I took notice of how clean and bright the salon was. However, moreso than that, the stench was pretty unbearable. It smelled like they were having plumbing problems. I had the brow wax done, and of course they ask if you want your lip done too. Er, I just had it done three weeks ago, but sure why not if you say you're cutting me a deal for the duo. The waxing services were more painful than other places I've been to, but she was relatively quick, so it wasn't unbearable. Her cell phone kept going off, and the ringer was on full blast. oh well. I decided to get a manicure since I had some extra time. This is where it starts to go downhill if you're not counting that it smells like sewage. She paid little attention to my nails. And all the technician's cell phones were going off at full blast. I mean annoying ringers and all. At first , the brow wax, now while i get my nails done too!?! Please don't call yourself a "spa," while the male technician is going through each of the available ringtones on his iPhone at the front desk trying to decide which one he wants. How can anyone relax like that!?! Not once did a customer's cell go off, since people tend to have enough sense to put it on vibrate and all. But. When it's your business that's just a party foul! She didn't clean under my nails, and when I went to the bathroom to wash my hands, it wasn't the bathroom that was smelling like I was expecting. On the way out the bathroom, I saw the door to the back slightly ajar and the smell was coming from there! You should be conscious of what you're eating when you are operating a business that's open to the public. Heavy smells, and funky ones at that, are not inviting to the public. I mean imagine smelling collard greens, or loud fish, or garlic, or sewage at a place you're supposed to relax at? No thanks! To top it off, the polish was super streaky. The worst part or this debaucle is within two days I had all these little bumps all over my eyebrows and upper lip. And I never have a reaction to waxing. I have been coming here for 2+ years and they recently fired the best nail technician they had and raised the price dramatically, the workers are rude. They say for a medium nail full set is $45, NO nail salon pays $45. I use to get full sets any length for $25 and now they are rude and do nails horrible. They talk badly in their language about you from across the room. One lady even smacked my hand because i told her she messed up my nail. If i could i would give them no stars, i wouldn't recommend this place to no one unless you enjoy horrible customer service and results. Never in my life will i be coming here again. I would not recommend this place. I made an appointment and when I arrived at the salon the manager told I was not in the appointment book. I recommend a particular nail technician and said I will wait for her while I get my pedicure. After my pedicure, I again waited for the nail technician to finish with her client. After she finish with her client, she instead took a client who had just came in. The manager ask me to pay for my pedicure and told me that I said I would "go somewhere else to get my nail done".
