Excellent, efficient, and affordable service at Waxx A Peel. Ke'Shia has a firm hand which made the service as pain free as is possible. I was really impressed by how efficient she was, I've been to lots of other salons where the same number of services would have taken 1.5x as long. Logistical notes: I found the phone numbers to be confusing. The phone number on here is correct and the automated message is just the voicemail. You can leave a message or text this number. However, if you book online you will get a text confirmation from Square which is a separate service and you cannot call or text that number. Also, if you aren't familiar with the area be aware that you go inside the mall and follow the signs towards the TJ Maxx. I was not able to keep my appointment because...well, I'm a woman in her reproductive years with an unpredictable visitor. I called to inform the owner of this and she was very dismissive and unaccommodating. She told me there was nothing she could do and offered neither solution nor option. Her words verbatim: "I don't know what to tell you." I will say I did notice on the onset that she has an abrasive way of speaking. I loved my visit at Waxx a Peel! By far the most relaxing, painless, and mediative Brazilian wax I've ever gotten. I mean, wow, usually I walk out gingerly having had my skin waxed until it turned red. This time was so different! In terms of the COVID stuff, I felt very safe during my time in the salon. I love how thorough Ke'Shia was when it came to following the CDC guidelines. She did a temperature check, offered me hand sanitizer, assured me that everything is deeply cleaned between every appointment and masks stayed on the whole time. This place is a hidden gem! I used to go up to NYC for my Brazilians every four weeks because I couldn't find someone in the area that would work effectively, efficiently, quickly, and with care! First time getting a Brazilian and I have to admit, it hurt! Not as bad as I expected though. I just knew I'd be screaming but I didn't. Flinched but no scream. The suite was clean, inviting and warm. Music was a vibe and the salt lamp was a nice touch. I loved that Ms. K was quick and to the point but still took her time and checked on my tolerance through out the process. She also gave me tips as a waxing newbie. Clean, friendly, and painless service! K uses hard wax which is very rare to find up north. I used to live in Miami and got used to hard wax and had trouble finding a place that offered it up here. For those who don't know, hard wax doesn't use strips and is A LOT less painful than any other wax I've tried. I'm from Turkey, where waxing is much more prevalent, so I know! Her work is okay but her attitude is poor and unfortunately why I will not be patronizing her business any more. A tip to the owner when you see customer's waiting you can acknowledge them instead of looking at them and closing the door in their face. **Update** The owner is a liar and delusional! Her response to my review further shows just how unprofessional she is! To put my mother's full name on this platform when she didn't even write the review is disgusting! I caution everyone against supporting this business. First off, yes my mother brought a groupon for an underarm and brazilian wax but she gifted it to me once I informed her what a brazilian wax is. We never tried to reason with her to split the service. My mom asked if that could be done (because she didn't want the brazilian wax only underarms) Ke'Shia said no and we took no issue with that. So were she is pulling this fallacy from that we tried to negotiate her services and took issue is beyond me. Also, the wax job is ok but nothing to write home about. Ke'Shia did not remove all the hair and she irritated the skin on my left underarm by waxing too ruff. The "education" gave me about exfoliating I already knew I just didn't feel like engaging a conversation with you. Second, I didn't misunderstand your welcome when I came Saturday. You were dismissive the first time and nothing changed this last visit. You were rude to both my mother and I by not greeting us the first time we visited Waxx A Peel. Which is part of the reason why my mom did not want you to service her. I tried to advocate on your behalf to her but I should have saved my breath, she was absolutely correct about your bad disposition. Whether you are busy or not a simple "hello, I'll be right with you" would suffice. When you did decide to open the door you looked at me with disgust and asked who I was there to see (as if there was anyone working in that section besides you)...did you not know you had a 12 o'clock appointment? And let's be clear after my first visit my mother suggested I purchase my own groupon to make an appointment with you while you were in the room making change for my mom and you said nothing. If that went against your policy you should have said something then. Oh that's right, your groupon fine print says you can purchase 2! So you can take your tip and shove where the sun doesn't shine :) My review was based on your attitude which is why I knocked it down to 1 star. The simple fact that I have to go back in forth with you makes me want to leave a 0 star review. Ke'Shia a tip to you don't argue with the people who put food on your table, a roof over your head and clothes on your back. This is your livelihood, remember!
