Upon moving to the DMV area last year, I was on the hunt for a talented brow artist to replace my beloved Renata in Boston. I am very picky when it comes to my eyebrows and anal as can be. After many searches through social media and google I was able to find Aggy. I had my first appointment and felt she was good enough, not the best, but I wanted to give her a chance. I came here a few more times when I was unable to make it to Boston to do my eyebrows. I believe on my 2nd or 3rd visit I was 10 or 15 mins late possibly because I misremembered my appt time. To my surprise I was late and I actually thought I was early. She made mention of this and still agreed to see me, cool. There was another visit that I had to rebook in the same day after missing my earlier appointment time and I was double charged. Ok no problem, I can't expect loyalty treatment as I'm still fairly new and cannot tell people how to run their businesses. After she did my brows for my birthday, I was so unhappy with how my photos came out because my eyebrows looked horrendous, thin, misshaped, and the worst I've ever seen them. My brows are normally fullI but I was forced to fill them in which I've never had to do and I remember my friend telling me to look for a new brow artist asap. But I didn't heed her advice right away due to convenience at the time and I said to myself, let me give her one more chance or I'll have to find someone else. My final straw though was when I had an appointment scheduled and I was running no more than 20 mins late for my appointment. I was the second to last appointment of the day and had been running vacation errands all day as I was traveling the next morning. I pleaded with the receptionist to allow me to keep my appointment as I had nowhere else to go and anywhere else would've been closed. I asked her to speak with aggy and I asked if I can be seen last and she could take the last appointment before me, making me her last appointment. I was literally speeding in the rain and less than 20 mins away and after the receptionist asked aggy, it was a resounding "no." I literally sobbed due to the stress of the situation and had to call my friend to calm me down. To add insult to injury, I'd be charged for the service. I have never experienced this level of harshness, lack of empathy, and dismissiveness. It's as if my business didn't matter and she didn't care to build a harmonious customer-client relationship. They were not willing to work with me at all, it was just, "oh come tomorrow," as if I didn't repeatedly say I had an early morning flight. Needless to say, I will not be recommending nor returning. And if I'm being completely honest, the talent is lacking. Ultimately, I took this as a sign from God never to return, she's not even a friendly person. read more

November 12th 2023. I came in for an eyebrow wax with tint. Aggy perform my services. She wanted to know why I wanted my brows tinted I told her I have a couple of gray hairs in my brow. I asked why would anybody else tint them. She said to make them look thicker. She then handed me a mirror and I was mesmerized. She had only mapped out my brows, not yet wax them or tinted them. I was spellbound. I agreed I did not need a tint and I asked her what sorcery had she performed. Attached is a before picture of my brows taken about a week ago and my brows after she only waxed them and applied a little gel. read more

I was referred here by two different people, on two different occasions, so I decided to give Waxing With Aggy a try. From the website, to the receptionist, to the service, this was the best waxing experience I've had to date. All the information you could possibly need can be found on the website but they are also super responsive and willing to help if you need to call and ask a few questions. The booking process is seamless and can be all be done online or you can call and book also. The office itself is located right off of Georgie Ave so it's fairly easy to find. The parking lot is rather small though as this business shares the lot with 1-2 other businesses, so parking is a bit limited. But, Waxing With Aggy is upfront about this and informs you of this during the booking process so I knew what to expect upon arrival. I would suggest being strategic with the time you book your appointment -- choose a time when you think people are less likely to be out to increase the likelihood of finding a park. The office itself was very well-kept and inviting and the receptionist greeted me immediately upon entry and got me checked in. Music was also playing all throughout the office so that was an added plus. I booked with Agnes and she was the absolute best! I got the Manzilian, Exterior Buttocks, Stomach/Abs, Chest, Underarms, and Inner Thigh all waxed and while I was a bit nervous about the pain, Agnes reassured me that she would take really good care of me. She was definitely a woman of her word and there were times she would wax very sensitive areas that I hardly even felt/noticed because she kept me engaged in really great conversation. Waxing With Agnes certainly gained another loyal customer! I 10/10 recommend! read more

Let's talk about self-care! Waxing with Aggy is the place to be for your wax/skin care needs. Its on the second floor of their buildIt's always very clean and smells great inside. This place also has skin care products available for purchase. I see Kim on a regular. THE BOMB. I love her so much. She's so nice, informative, & handles you with care. Since the first time when I was terrified, she has ALWAYS made me feel comfortable. Now, I've been going for about a year consistently. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my thunder down under. Lol Did I mention that it's also pretty much painless?? You can't beat that. read more

I have been going to WWA for all of my waxing needs for over a year. I have always appreciated how friendly and professional the staff is at each appointment. The entry, waiting area and private treatment rooms are always clean and inviting. I have seen the staff sanitize treatment rooms before and after each client. My waxing services typically include eyebrows, underarms and a full Brazilian. I regularly book appointments with Agnes and I've had one appointment with Amber. Both professionals are extremely knowledgeable about their craft and have been able to answer any questions that I've had. If you're hesitant about any services and you just want to get it over with, book an appointment with Agnes- she'll move fast and you'll be finished before you've completely changed your mind. Lol. So I'm writing this due to a couple things: 1) I am obligated due to losing a NBA Finals bet. (more on that soon) 2) The staff and experience was way better than expected. 3) I'm pretty sure the other teammates are skilled and professional but Tori (hopefully spelled correctly) is a absolute gem. Well the story goes my cousin and I bet on this year's NBA Finals which no team was my favorite. I chose the Celtics and he chose the Warriors. The bet for him was to go streaking at a cookout this summer. His fiancé helped him decide that it would be best for me to get waxed in my special places. Now I'm here telling you all this SMDH. Tori was assertive, kind, and truly helped me through it like the pro she is. I will save you all the trouble of not sharing any pics. But just know that ain't felt this smooth in years. Tori is your go to girl!!!!! She is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING and professional. I am in OB/GYN and deal with women's health everyday/all day, so I can testify that she is very knowledgeable in her craft and what she says is 100% accurate. She takes time to evaluate your hair pattern so that she knows how to properly position you and which wax to use (true professionals know one size does not fit all and that is true of types of waxes too). I have been so impressed with Tori. She also makes the experience super comfortable and she has a rock star personality! We were talking so much, when she said last strip...I was honestly like where did the time go? This salon is black owned and it's great to stand by a business with an amazing, knowledgeable person working there. She's also gentle with the waxing process so you don't walk away in excruciating pain. read more

Two stars because the place is clean. On my first visit, I filled out a form about my lifestyle that was not reviewed before my service. I had scars between my brows after my first visit (see attached photos). When I brought it to the business's attention ", THEY BLAMED IT ALL ON ME, even though I had been completely transparent on my entry sheet. Also, one eyebrow was shorter than the other. For that reason I cancelled them on doing my brows. I returned on a whim to wax my lip a few weeks later with a different team m, and Aggy asked me if the hair on my head was real. This was not only awkward, but very disappointing to hear from another black woman. I articulated this, but Aggy did not apologize for what she said but for my feelings. How kind of her! I was awarded a complimentary service which I assume was her way of apologizing. Third times a charm, I gave them a final chance on a Brazilian. Kim had a good technique but she wasn't genuine. I didn't find her kind or caring. She seemed like she wanted me to leave before she even started, not warm or welcoming at all. Kim also lacked conversational skills. I was interrogated the entire time. Just a heads up, ask literature scholars about literature or a doctors about medicine or research. Or, just ask another human how their day is going. Also, this is the first waxing salon that stands there when you undress and re-dress. I assure you, if you leave folk in the room to undress no one will tamper with your waxes. This was very awkward and just made it seem like WWA doesn't trust or respect their clients as humans deserving of some modesty; yes, even in an immodest situation. I gave WWA multiple chances, because it's a sense of pride to support black businesses. However, I refuse to spend my money where I am not valued or respected, even if the business owners look like me. The phrase "Every sister ain't a sister..." comes to mind. Even with this being said, it's a black business so I hope your experience is better then mine. I do hope this warning provides the useful insight I wish I had. read more

This is a dual review from both my husband I. First, the customer service, cleanliness AND consistency of service and quality of service is unmatched PERIOD And while I am speaking about consistency , let's talk about the continuity of the estheticians throughout the salon. I always go to Aggy. She is the owner and she's BOMB. I am legit spoiled by her. However, I forgot to add an upper leg and they were able to accommodate with Nadia (I think that is her name). Phenomenal and THOROUGH! Listen, if you have carpet, rather it is shag, berber or twisted and you want some nice shellac hard wood floors (I really hope you all catch that metaphor lol) RUN to Waxing With Aggy! As others have shared --I had a positive experience from beginning to end. The space is hip and attractive, the front desk staff welcoming and the waxing quick and easy. Went for an eyebrow tint and wax and left w that and my first Brazilian wax w Aggie. Aggie was engaging and the "event" was not nearly as bad as one would expect. It really was complete in a few minutes and with very minimal pain--that was over quickly. My eye brows looked a little extra the first week and now look so natural. I will be a repeat customer. Great service and staff!! Always pleased! Kimberly is great! Makes you feel very comfortable and almost forget you're getting waxed!

To be fair, I didn't get Aggy, and I didn't do body waxing (I did eyebrows).. so maybe that is where I messed up. Anyway, my eyebrows were CRAZY uneven, it's probably the second worst job I have gotten done. When I looked in the mirror I was horrified. They are super uneven and different shapes. Shape -The tail of my left brow is MUCH more skinnier than my right brow. Unevenness -She took too much off the bottom of my left eyebrow (see image) -She somehow took too much off the top arch on the left eyebrow (see red circle in image). Note: I have a scar under my left eyebrow so the weird shape there isn't their fault. I was told they look fine, and that the issue is because my eyebrows need to grow in... Hm.... I don't think so. Any way, she tried to fix it with some filler. I went home, removed all the make up and took a picture of my brows. No, I didn't arch one brow, I didn't take a picture with a tilted face or anything. I had my two sisters look at my face (I didn't ask an anchoring question) and one asked if I did them myself (with a stank look on her face). The other simply asked me why my eyebrows were uneven. I won't go back, but 2 stars because I can at least use makeup for the next few months... and the right eyebrow does look nice! read more

Unfortunately I am coming back after a few years and downgrading my review. I used to love this place and actually drove from college park to go there, but the last few times the service hasn't been as good. I planned to keep going thinking it was kind of a fluke, but today I asked to reschedule because of a sick kid and was charged a huge fee after years of coming here explicitly. No thanks! I'll be finding somewhere new. read more

I've been coming to Waxing With Aggy for years now and the service has remained phenomenal. I primarily get Brazilians and you can't go wrong with anyone on stuff but Kim is my favorite. It's very easy to book an appointment online. You have to pay a deposit that is deducted from your final cost. That seems to be the norm recently. Kim did my brows and they look so good!! I don't have eyebrows naturally, so it takes some effort to make it appear that I do;-) I arrived about five minutes early and waited about a minute before being called to the back. The place is cute and really clean. The receptionist is nice. The lot is tiny and it was full, but there is some street parking. I snagged a spot and just fed the meter. Bring about 40 cents to cover the cost and you're good to go. The location is right off of 495 and my drive from Tysons only took about 22 minutes. I've been going to the same person for my Brazilian waxes for about eight years, but if I didn't, I'd switch to this location for that too. Highly recommend! read more

I stopped waxing for a while but I'm so glad I started back again and found Diamond!! I've been to her twice and I LOVE her customer service. She makes me feel so comfortable and talks to me the whole time to take my mind off of the wax. I will keep returning to her! 10/10!! read more

The room I was taken to was nice, clean, and professional looking. Jess was very professional and funny from beginning to end. Will definitely go back. read more

I have been coming to Aggy for years now but today I decided to never come here again. I needed a wax as I was going to have a surgery next week. Trust me, I don't want to bring my child with me when I'm getting a Brazilian wax but today I had an emergency situation where I had no choice but to bring her with me. The front desk explained the I cannot bring my child with me and I'd need to reschedule. I asked to speak with Aggy who was there to explain my situation but she would not even come out to speak with me hiding behind an excuse of a meeting. I am a client and it would take less than a minute to hear me out and to resolve this. I'm extremely appalled how I was treated and the fact that this place is not accommodating at all. Thankfully I found a place that doesn't allow children either but they allowed my daughter in after hearing my situation. As a mother, that's all I can ask for. read more

Black owned and woman owned...yes please! Aggy is the best! I have been here a few times for eyebrows and once for a Brazilian. I was very nervous about my Brazilian because I hadn't had one in over a year and then my cycle came on the exact day of my appointment! This was the least painful wax I have ever experienced! Aggy was fast but gentle, and got every single hair. I never have a problem with customer service when I go. My last visit I was about a minute late and they still took me...thank God! The staff is always super friendly and you really feel like friends, not just another customer. I will say that one of the other ladies did by brows once, and I was not as pleased with the outcome. She shaped them all wrong, so I know if I have to see someone besides Aggy I may have to be a little more vocal about what I want/like. I love it here and will continue to recommend them. read more

The BEST in the DMV! I've been here a few times but this is my first official review. As soon as you come in, the waiting area is clean, vibrant and organized with waxing after care products. I came five minutes early for my appointment - they pride themselves on being timely for each appointment which I appreciate. I had an eyebrow, underarm and Brazilian waxing with Agnes and she happened to be training another esthetician and she asked me if she could observe my session, which I appreciate. Agnes is knowledgeable - she got to talking about the different types of waxes & I was intrigued. Did I tell you that my waxing session was only 25 minutes? If it were another establishment, I'd only be halfway through. I had enough time in between waxing & my hair appointment to go get lunch & window shop. My brows look the best they've looked in a while (since we're in this panorama, I decided to let my brows grow back during the past year & they look amazing). I will sing the praises of this shop to anyone that will listen and especially anyone that needs a new esthetician! read more

Aggy is AH-MAZ-ING!! Highly skilled, fast waxes, friendly customer service and clean studio. One of my top, go-to locations in the MD/DC area for waxes! Only con is that prices are high. I went to Aggy after getting referred to by a friend. After a few weeks is Instagram stalking I decided to make my appointment. I am very, very particular about my eyebrows and just recently decided I was looking for someone who better understood my vision for my brows. I was late for my appointment due to traffic, so I was out of breath when I got into the shop. I was calmed down by the serene and quiet ambiance, the cleanliness and organization of the place were also satisfying. As I was in the waiting area, Aggy came out to me and asked what I was getting done. I told her my brows and she gave me sort of a look. We then went into the private room to have more of a chat. Aggy examined my brows and told me that if I wanted a particular shape I had to give my brows some time to grow in. She told me if she did them, I'd be back in the same situation every month--not achieving the brows of my dreams. I was devastated, because I look terrible when my eyebrows aren't done, but Aggy assured me that in a few weeks time there would be enough hair to create the arch I want. I whined and bickered, but she stood by her claim. I appreciate her professionalism in this matter. She very easily could have taken my money and did my brows. Instead, she took the time to educate me and show me what my brows could look like if I just waited. To me, this is stellar customer service and the epitome of a professional. Aggy doesn't have to pressure people into services because she's genuine and a genius with her craft. We made my appointment for next month! While growing out my brows more is painful, I'm excited to see Aggy work her arching magic! read more

It's worth the extra money I pay here vs going to another place and running the risk of a bad brow wax! Aggy has a wonderful business and it deserves to continue to flourish. Kim is great! She made me feel super comfortable and was very friendly and informative about post waxing care.

Aggy is the GOAT. I don't live in Maryland anymore but when visiting my friends I went out of my way to schedule an appointment with her.

I've been a fan of Waxing With Aggy for years and glad they've been able to bounce back during the pandemic. Recently, I went to their shop early because of the new protocols, which I think are super helpful since I deal with some anxiety around cleanliness. And I was able to be serviced for my wax in what get like record time. I've had two of the ladies there, mainly Aggy, and appreciate their way of running it smoothly to avoid contact with more than the receptionist and the waxer. Granted, waxing can be painful, but if I'm not thinking about wait times or cleanliness, it's something I can handle. Pro Tip: they say arrive early and they mean it. So if that's 10 mins and wait until they let you up, do it. Wear a mask too! read more
