5 for the appearance of my nails, following my manicure, one star for price gouging. I went in for a French, dip manicure I was told during my previous visit that this would cost me $50. However, at the end I was charged $80. The rationale given was that the dip was 50 and the manicure was 30. Have you ever been charged separately for dip and for manicure? She then said that the manicure was included in the gel price. Really? In addition that "dip "manicure included adding gel, and having to use the gel dryer, which I did not want. Again, the quality of Tracey's work was excellent. I do not appreciate being lied to. So disappointing. read more

I love my gel manicure and pedicure!! This nail salon is my favorite for quality, attention to detail, and strong customer service skills. Second time I went services took a really long time. Also 3 of my cuticles were bleeding and they did not sanitize or disinfect... The 5th or 6th time I went my gel manicure only lasted 3 days Went in because they happened to be open on a Tuesday! My experience here has been horrible! I went there August 8 to get a gel manicure. I left and there was literally bumps and bubbles in my nails it was awful! So I went back the next day to show her and she said to come back on Tuesday for her to fix my nails she said she wanted to fix it which is only right because she's the one that messed up my nails. I didn't make it back until Wednesday. Nail technician did not bother to takeoff the old polish that was buffed a little and just polished over it. That was such a poor effort to resolve the previous issue. So that made it look a little better but it still had a lot of bumps they just weren't as obvious . The gel nail polish was peeling by that Saturday (not even a whole week) . My gel polish usually NEVER peels. I went there a few weeks prior and I did not get the Nails tech's name but she did a wonderful job . The most recent nail technician that messed up my nails did not seem to know how to do gel polish. I will never go back here although it's around the corner from me. Having to make multiple trips in one week and the lazy efforts to get the nail issue resolved is just irritating. I came here to get a nail fixed after it broke 2 days after they installed it. It took 2 hrs and 3 nail techs and I still walked out of here with a bleeding nail, a different color, shape and length than the rest. Then Lynn and Gigi and Hai all argued and yelled at me about my asking them to fix their error. I will not be coming here and will be telling other customers I referred not to either. My daughter and neices have used Lynns for years. The staff is great. The technicians are talented with decades of experience. My french gels and acrylics look perfect shiny symmetrical everytime. I was in the area trying to kill time to make it to Northern Virginia during rush hour. My nail lady is on vacation so I figured I'd go get my nails done, a powder dip on real nails. Not hard right? Horrible job done, week later I have 4 cracked nails. The gentleman who did my nails lost control of the electric filer multiple times nicking my cuticles and actually broke one of my real nails. My regular nail salon was closed this snow day, so I was happy to find this nail salon open. I was greeted as "honey" by the owner who gave me to an attendant who had trouble seeing my nails as she proceeded with my manicure. She smelled terribly of cigarettes and her own nail condition was questionable- thumb nail crusted yellow with some disease. I couldn't help but notice because she used them often to wipe the edges of my nail beds. Communication was a challenge as she spoke very little English. The equipment was not sterilized- only douched in rubbing alcohol. I was relieved that my gel manicure in the end at least looked good. read more

Stopped by Lynn Nails today to complete my Fanciness (you know, hair done NAILS DONE everything did)... I think I finally found my go-to spot to be 100% satisfied. On my first visit, my nails were done by Diane. This time, I had Gigi and both times were on point. Nails are evenly cut, perfectly shaped tips, acrylic thats not too thick, no gaps at the bottom near the cuticles. It is very popular in the area so there may be a wait. But don't complain about the wait cuz if you want somewhere thats empty, remember its deserted for a reason... The only reason I rated it a 4 instead of a 5 is because of the tiny parking lot. The lot is shared between them, Papa Johns, I think a Rita's, and maybe something else I can't remember and there's like 12 parking spaces for all to share. I drove around for 30 minutes trying to find 15452 Old Columbia Pike. It doesn't exist! The address is 15430 Old Columbia Pike! Let's try to do better people, please! Edit: Nancy has a prettty busy schedule. Everytime I've returned, she is with a client so I've been taken care of by other techs. Tony is the man though. I had him the last time I was there and he files my nails exactly the way I like them filed. He did an amazing job on my mani-pedi - I'll be going to him for service going forward. This was the worst experience I have had in all the many years I've been getting my nails done. I was out of town and decided I would use the time away to get my gel polish changed on my trip instead of waiting to get back to my hometown. What a mistake! The lady I was assigned to was not very friendly and also could not speak English. I am very tolerant of people who speak another language and only want to assist them but this prevented her from feeling like she could communicate. When my hand was under the table-top curing light for Gel polish, instead of telling me to tap the light to make it go on again after the cycle, she would pull it up and tap it herself and smudge my nails. We redid them several times. Also I had purple polish on when I came there And she did not remove it all so spots of it showed through my new polish! She also kept telling me I needed to cut my nails down which I did not want to do. I told her no and she kept saying "cut down,cut down". The resulting job was terrible and I'm so disappointed that I allowed myself to spend my hard-earned money on a crappy polish job! My regular manicurist does such a nice job that the polish lasts for 2 to 3 weeks and after a few days this polish is already peeling:( read more

I yelped a nail place around my area.. I've been to most of the nail salons in the 20904 zip code so I wanted to try something new. Lynn's received good reviews on yelp so I thought I would give it a try. The nail technicians were all very friendly! There was barely any talk at all in the salon, not even among themselves. The polish selection is okay.. Mostly OPI and Essie but most of them looked old and very used. I think the place was newly renovated.. It looked good I guess.. Anyways, my mani.. The nail tech was way too gentle. She was so friendly I actually feel bad about this review. The edges of my nails were not painted.. The polish was not even- I picked a pale purple color. The finished product didnt even look like it had a top coat. Oh, and the filing was all.. Hm.. Uneven and different to say the least. She was way too cautious or gentle the whole manicure. Now the pedi, I still have my french pedi intact and its probably been.. two to three weeks? They still look pretty good. Again, she was too gentle so the whole pedi experience was not so relaxing. Then paying time.. 36$ for a Mani and French pedi.. I think that's a little bit steep for a small salon on a random little strip. I did feel for that price I could have gone to Rockville for a better overall experience.. or even the place is used to go to down 29. Overall.. Never again will I go here. They are super friendly.. I used to get my nails done here but I don't anymore due to my schedule n But I do get my lashes done there about every 3-4 weeks, yes I said about every 3-4 weeks. They last, they look so natural and it's only 30 bucks. It takes Hai (hi) about an hour to do them so no in and out. But no heavy thick black glue residue when you are done. I usually go to Kim's Nails down the street but the day I went Kim's wasn't open for another hour so I went to Lynns instead. First I got a pedicure which would have been great however she turned my rounded nails square without asking and as I was relaxing I didn't notice until she had already shaped them. I HATE THAT! I believe they should go with the shape you currently have or ask!!! Second I got a gel manicure. I don't believe the color from the sample strip looked that similar to what was on my nails but it was still a pretty color so that was fine. Overall the manicure was fine except the woman was a little rough with my cuticles. I got all this done on Sunday and by Wednesday 4 of my nails were chipped. This is gel it should last way longer. I was recommended to come here by two different ladies who didn't know each other. I was a walk in and had maybe 2-3 minutes of wait time. I was pleasantly surprised that all staff members spoke conversational English. Leo did my gel pedicure which was great!!! He also did my nails. I have no complaints.
