I have been coming to this salon for many years. Although I agree with many of the comments regarding the service and the attitude I love Kim, my technician. I've never had a problem with her and she is the reason I kept coming back. I have found other employees at this salon to be rude and disrespectful but because of Kim I ignored them. However the last straw for me was today. They not only increased their prices but they now charge a 3.5% fee if you use a credit card and the lady at the desk told me, next time bring cash. Wow! You would think they would have taken the credit card company's fee into consideration when they increased their prices. There must be a salon in the area that employ good technicians without the price this salon charges for the basic service they provide. I got a gel manicure here multiple occasions . The gel starts to peel within less than a week. Normally I just let it go , but one time it was soooo bad I had to go back. It was a male who did my nails and he didn't bother to put on a base coat . I went back he fixed it and I still tipped him $5. This time I got my nails done before the Christmas holiday in less than a week they were chipping. I've never had this issue at any other nail salon. It just seems like they don't have a person that knows how to do gel nails. I go here because it's convenient and close to home I really don't wanna have to find another nail salon but this is my hard earned money going down the drain. Quickest pedicure ever. Pedicures are supposed to be 30-90 minutes, in general. I signed in at 10:57. I wasn't seated for another 7 minutes, which is fine. My feet soaked for 5 minutes. By 11:21, the tech- Helen- drained the bath She argued that 30 minutes had passed already. When I told her it was 11:21 and I wasn't seated until 11:07 she just walked to the back to get towels. She barely wrapped my legs. The front desk girl got the manager who finished my pedicure after 10 minutes of me sitting there. Then Helen started teasing the manager for placating me with a sweet tone. I don't speak Vietnamese but she made her voice base when I questioned the time and her tone in English was very condescending and confrontational when she tried to tell me it had been 30 minutes since the pedicure started. I just had one of the best pedicures I've ever had there. I don't remember his name, but he spent a good amount of time softening up my very dry and tired, calloused summer feet. I am the true essence of a bare-footer and headed into winter time my feet show it bad. He did such a good job I almost slipped into my shoes!! The massage was just the right amount of pressure, he scraped the callouses away gently but effectively.I don't know why I waited so long to have it done! Thanks for doing a great job. read more

Definitely will not be going back here. I should've known something for off as soon as I sat down. 2 different black women at 2 separate times walked in and they immediately asked them to wash their hands. No one else but them, one of the woman questioned it and they got loud with her. The amount I paid didn't match the quality. I was very rushed, she kept trying to up sale me even tho I kept saying I was fine. She kept trying to get me to spend more money and every time I said no she said something to the lady next to me. I paid $60 dollars for a pedicure and it was incredibly rushed. No massage, no extra care of anything. I've paid way less for much better service. I just happened to walk past it and give it a try. When I tried to engage her in conversation, she said that it was too early and hard to talk. I've been here before, and have not had the best experience. This is absolutely the worst service I've had at a nail salon. My pedicure was so rushed I honestly don't think I was in the chair more than a few minutes. My tech was very rude and did not use proper health code measurements at all. She rushed every single part of my pedi but was sure to try and up sell me every opportunity she got. I typically visit this salon when I'm short on time and have a decent experience. However, I stopped by for a regular pedicure, underarm wax, and basic manicure. The technician I had was new because I've never seen her at the salon before and I've been coming here for years for my waxes. I sit in the chair for a pedicure and request a regular pedi with parrafin wax. Throughout the pedicure the technician asked several times if I wanted a masks, to which I replied no. She washed by legs and feet with Palmolive dish soap about three times and then said I have dry skin which is why she was recommending the masks. Before the pedicure was over she removed the plastic wrapping for the water basin which didn't make sense because I still had my feet in the tub and had not received the parrafin wax as of yet. Oh I forgot to add, throughout the pedicure she continuously pour acetone on the tools before and after use which I never saw before but I'm guessing she was reusing tools from customer to customer instead of cleaning after each customer. While getting my pedicure she tell me I need an eyebrow wax. My eyebrows haven't grown since 2007. I don't need an eyebrow wax. She said oh just a clean up. She then said I can see it growing out. When we get to the waxing area and she finishing with my underarm, she asks if I need an upper lip or chin wax. Again, these are things I don't need. I've never received service like this before at this salon. I was truly disappointed with the technician and with the salon as they need to do a better job with vetting their new hires. The polish application was subpar. Paint everywhere on my toes, skin, the floor, it was such a sloppy job. I've gone to other technicians before and never received treatment as I did with that technician. Preface: Let it be known that I am Vietnamese & Chinese. I come in there with my Korean friends and the first thing they ask us is what our ethnicities are... why? So you guys can talk trash about us in Vietnamese??? YUP! I am in my mid twenties and my nail tech thought I couldn't understand her because she was speaking in Vietnamese... my whole pedicure was not enjoyable on the count of her telling her coworker that I "couldn't be more than 20 years old, and already has a boob job." Me? What? Although I guess I was a little flattered, she then talked about my Korean friend and how she probably got her nose and eyes done because "every Korean girl gets plastic surgery." How can you guys just sit there and blatantly talk about people.. PAYING CUSTOMERS like that? On top of that, I was going to get one of those fancy pedicures but then she said "this girl is taking too long, I'm just gonna rush her pedicure" in Vietnamese.. I got mad and just went with the basic one. Before we left, the nail techs said, "they're young, I doubt they're going to tip us well." Yeah, you're right. You didn't get tipped. You guys are lucky we weren't rude and we didn't clap back at you. People go into salons and spas to help them relax and feel good about themselves. Instead, we left feeling angry and self conscious. Hmm Meh! I came here to get my eyebrows done and decided on a manicure as well. The manicure was mediocre. My eyebrows were done fine. What I don't like is pesky nail technicians CONSTANTLY trying to get me to pay for more services. I went for a basic pedicure and was told the price was $34 for a nail trim and polish. It's actually $24 and includes a basic scrub, massage and hot towels. She said for $38 - only $4 more I could get a deluxe pedicure and I'd get the scrub, massage and hot towels. I told her I find it hard to believe the basic pedicure is $34 and doesn't include any of those things. She replied that's why it's better to just get the deluxe pedicure. This wasn't a miscommunication because I was very clear and articulate with my questions and by her saying $4 more rules out her misspeaking $34 for $24. Avoid this place- her attitude has me believe that if I would've gotten the basic she would've charged $34 and done a poor job. I've read other reviews with the same complaints and circumstances. I went here on Thursday to get my nails done. Since then, I've literally had two break. I don't know what's going on but a fresh set should last a week before one even breaks, and IVE HAD TWO BREAK! I went in to get one fixed and got plenty of attitude from the nail tech! It's now Monday I've had another nail break! I was literally putting a dish in the sink and it broke!! Ok, to start off, I came into the store debating to get a gel or regular manicure. I splurged for the gel because I thought they'd do it nicely, but after leaving, I realized, that isn't the case at all. First, the technician who did my nails didn't even ask me what shape I wanted them to be. Second, they don't have many color options for gel nail polish, while other places have entire buckets, they only had a few. Third, the technician rushed my gel manicure. She didn't even cover my entire nail bed. It hasn't even been one day and there's already visible space between the polish and the cuticle. Some parts of the gel is already chipping off as well. Over all, the polish looks chunky and bulbous in some parts. Don't waste your time or money here, there's plenty of other salons around doing it for cheaper, better quality, and with more gel varieties. read more

Linda is the best!! Her careful attention to detail, kindness and professionalism keeps me returning. If she's not there, the service for me isn't the same. Update: Linda was busy and refused to do my eyebrows one day- even when I said I would wait untilnshw was finished with her customer. No idea why she insisted on someone else. I left disappointed and confused that day. I tip and never made a fuss. After 3 years of going to her, I began seeing other nail technicians for any service. It's overall subpar though. Probably not going back again :( Original post: My mom and I usually go to a different nail Salon near college park which does good mani/pedi for $30 but it was late so we decided to go somewhere close. I walked in at 7:40pm with my mom (they close at 8) and we were asked to sign in and pick our nail colors. Mani/Pedi combo was $35 which is pretty decent..they have a pretty good collection of OPIs and Essies, the only kinda of nail colors I like in nail salons. Wait time was about 10 mins. When we went to sit in the big massage chairs and the lady asked if we wanted to try the delux pedicures from the menu book. We said we wanted the regular mani/pedi for $35 but they insisted we try the delux for $50. They said regular doesn't come with the scrubbing of dead skin..which made me surprised because every nail salon does dead skin scrubbing when you do a pedicure. Anyways, I was in a good mood so I didn't want to extend the conversation so I agreed to do the delux pedi for my mom and I. Wooh, just spent $100 on a Tuesday night on nails. It's ok I'll just make lunch for the rest of the week lol. Nonetheless, I wasn't upset when I left the store. The delux pedi was pretty relaxing and refreshing I would say after a long work day. Venna did my nails and she was friendly and nice. I really liked how my nails turned out to be. My mom was impressed too. I grabbed a candy when I was drying my nails, which smeared the polish on one of my nails. Venna was really nice to fix it for me :) 5 stars for the nails -1 for the price. read more

I have received several comments about my nails every time I go there and it makes me feel self conscious. Never again. Went to Deja Vu July 4th weekend because I needed a last minute pedi and my usual place was too far to go at the time. Came here and waited about 20 minutes, not too bad for a holiday weekend and no appointment. The hostess was pleasant. The color selections were minimal, maybe because it was so packed that the polishes were scattered about the salon, but still I didnt have much to choose from. So when I get seated the girl hands me this book full of super extravagant pedicure options ranging from $38-$50. I ask her if they just have a regular pedicure...nope. So i choose the white tea pedi for $38 (about $13 over the local rates for a decent pedi). The massage that came with it was great, the hot towels she put over my legs and feet were wonderful, the actual paint job on my toes? Helen Keller could have done better. She didnt paint all the way around the nail so it looks like I had the pedicure a few weeks already, the polish chipped the next day and my toes just look....unspecial. I guess what you pay for is the frills of this place, tv's, huge chandelier in the entryway, but really...I would have preferred just a good polish job. Will not return. read more

For now I give this place 3.5 stars. Jennifer definitely took her time with my manicure and pedicure. However, like most people have said every technician in this place is going to try to upsell you. I found this particular really offputting, but once I declined a more expensive service I wasn't asked again. I did spring for the nail dipping powder and I'm happy with the results. Jennifer did a really good job shaping and filing my nails but overall I thought the manicure itself was pretty basic. As far as my pedicure Jennifer did a really good job cutting, filing, and shaping but then she cut my cuticles and they started to bleed. Generally I would leave the salon at this point, however Jennifer was sure to address her mistake and she didn't just try to painting over the blood like I have experienced with some other technicians at other salons in Laurel that I've tried, and so for this I let her complete the service. When' she put on the two colors I requested I realize they didn't match the way that I thought they would. So, I asked her to change the color on my big toe. She then painted over my already painted toe with the second color and the nail polish became really chunky and clumpy. So then I asked her to remove all the nail polish off my big toes and just paint it with the second color I had asked for. She seemed a little annoyed, but she did it without verbally complaining. While I wish she would've just done this herself without my asking, I do appreciate that she complied with my request. Overall, like I said I'm happy with the way things turned out in the end although the process itself had both positive and negative aspects. But, I will be back to give Jennifer another try. If things go better next time this might become my regular salon. PS. I felt that everything was clean and sanitary. I paid $28 for a basic pedicure and $45 for the dip powder manicure. read more

I went to déjà vu because my regular technician was not available and I wanted to get my nails done before going out of town. I didn't have an appointment and was assigned to Kim (station #3). Kim was pleasant enough in the beginning and did an okay job on my nails so I thought. When she finished she rushed me off because she had someone waiting. She didn't escort me to the dryer but instead dismissed me with the waive of her hand. This resulted in a no tip for her. In any event, the acrylic overlay on my natural nails started lifting in less than 24 hrs. It was unbelievable. I'm not sure if it was old acrylic or the way it was applied. I will never go back there again. I had to have the acrylic removed and have my nails completely done over. read more

My mother and I went in for manicures. Me, I am 41 weeks pregnant and we thought it would be a nice treat for a quick pamper. First of all, I had to use the restroom. There were a group of employees eating some stinky lunch in the back and wouldn't move for me to open the bathroom door. I had to squeeze (not easy) to get past them, as they completely ignored me. When both my mom and I sat down, both of our technicians tried to upsell us on the gel manicures. Both of us had to say no several times. Me, I'm getting ready to have a baby and don't want nails that I have to maintain. I tried explaining that, but my tech kept trying. Once she figured out that there was no upsell, she gave me the most mediocre manicure I've ever had. The hand massage consisted of her quickly rubbing lotion on each hand-maybe 5 seconds each. My mom's technician didn't even do that! What kind of manicure gets no lotion?! Then my mom's polish was so thickly applied that almost two hours later, she got a dent in two fingers. I've been coming here for a while. I have had my nails normally done by Christine and have had the chance with other techs with no complaints. This place also did my nails for my wedding a few months ago. Last night I had to use a new tech (Amy) to take off the dip Mani and do a regular mani. Amy asked if I didn't like it and I told her it's just getting in my way. She offered eyebrows, and I politely declined. She seemed really annoyed that I was not getting a gel, and I told her that, I work in healthcare, I'm technically not supposed to have it. Then later during the manicure she said gel would last longer, and at this point, I'm just annoyed that she kept pushing. I replied again I couldn't have them. She basically rushed through to get me out and it wasn't busy. For the hand massage, it was non existent, she just put lotion on my hands told me to go wash them with soap. When painting my nails, she didn't go all the way to the cuticle on some fingers, missed some spots on the side, and didn't even take me to the UV light. Of course getting my jacket on myself, and getting my keys it damaged and I didn't even want to ask her to fix it. I'm not going back.
