After searching for nail salons in my neighborhood, I decided to call Elegant Nails and book an appointment. I called and the technician was really personable. They weren't busy at the time so I scheduled to be there in 20 minutes. It's located in a strip mall so there's tons of free parking. He got started on me right away and was really efficient. I had a couple of fractured nails from a previous job and he was able to repair my natural nails and still add acrylic without any pain. The final product was perfect; simple yet elegant. The venue has all of the appropriate COVID dividers between technicians and clients for. He was really contentious of cleanliness had to for a moment to setup another customer and he washed his hands before coming back to me. He also cleaned the table in front of me before starting. I went to this salon because it was close by and my original salon had a water outage. I would not come here again... the staff was kind but the quality was lacking. The nail tech that serviced cut the side of my nail so much that I bled and simply tapped the tool to push my cuticles back on each nail. It was a very lazy job. The drain used drain the tub was broken so after she overfilled the tub she used a 7/11 Big Gulp cup to dump some water to the neighboring tub. Next they washed my feet with... Dial hand soap. I asked if they had anything else as this is a drying soap not intended for pedicures and they said no. There was no foot/leg scrub, simply a lotioning and very light massage. At the end, they put a warm wash cloth big enough to cover one foot and half of another and called it a day. I could have given myself a better pedicure at home. This is a small shop so I feel bad writing this review but I go to the nail salon for a quality and relaxing experience. If you are looking for the same experience I do not advise coming here. (Especially during COVID) We've been trying many places since we just moved to the area and this is the first time a place has hit every single item of our checklist: Cleanliness Customer service Pricing This is a new salon/spa with new management. Located conveniently in the shopping center off Cherry Hill Rd where Popeyes is located. Ample parking spots to choose from! The exterior facade doesn't do the interior justice. Monochromatic grey theme with comfy chairs and a vast variety of colors to choose from. They offer full service including wax and massages. We called prior to see if they were open on Labor Day and the personnel was thoroughly and kindly explained we could simply walk in. Staff wears proper masks and so do the clients. There is no extreme chemical smell when you walk in. It smells clean and refreshing. We had a brief wait and were promptly seated a few seats away from other guests to ensure social distancing. We were brought mimosas and began our service. The staff was so thorough and gentle enough. Even though there were other customers waiting they certainly were still diligent not to rush you out to get to the next customer. As a full disclaimer, I am Vietnamese and often times face a lot of personnel saying rude things assuming I do not understand with many other salons. The people here did not exude that whatsoever. In fact, they make it a point to speak English with one another to add more comfort for their customers. I've found my go-to salon and will be bringing all my friends here now! read more

I can't say enough wonderful things about Vasa/Elegant Nails!! My friend and I went to get pedicures together-girls day out. Lahna greeted us with a smile and asked we wanted. She showed us the "menu of pedicures" and we told her which one we wanted. V did my pedicure, which was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! She took her time. The citrus scented exfoliating scrub, hot towels and calf and foot massage were intoxicating. I will definitely go back!! Cash is better to pay with, but they do take credit cards for a $2 fee. And this was for the most basic paint job..The workers were either on their phones FaceTiming or constantly trying to tend to multiple clients at once. they had lint in their nail polishes so the worker spent most of her time rubbing off the nail polish so she redoing it over and over again. I came here once in the summer when nail salons reopened after the shutdown. The salon was very cleanly you had to wear masks and also use hand sanitizer before signing in. The technicians cleaned their tables, chairs and pedicure chairs before each use. I came for a regular manicure and pedicure and my technician was very thorough and precise. It pains me to write this review, because I used to be such a big fan. I came here for years to get my threading and Brazilians done...now I'm going elsewhere. Pooja could always be counted on to fit me in for a quick appointment and the results were flawless. Jenny also did a phenomenal job. However, the interior of this place isn't the only thing that's changed. The customer service has gone completely downhill. My last visit was particularly upsetting since I've paid $28 for years (on a service that I prefer to not mention), and ended up paying more...for it to be done improperly. I understand that I was going to Pooja and she's no longer there, but it doesn't change the fact that I've been coming here for years. I refer people on a constant basis, especially through my job since the patients usually live in the area. I should be able to keep the same price that I'm accustomed to paying for a facial threading service. Not $7 more. I also called last minute, at the end of the day. Yes, I understand how annoying that can be, but a customer is a customer and if you don't like last-minute appointments then put a nice big sign on your door. This way, people can take their money and business elsewhere. There's plenty of salons that offer the same services and would gladly take an appointment last minute, especially for threading. It's not a wax. It's threading. So little comments during a service stating that you weren't aware of my appointment are very rude. Extremely rude. I did not show up and expect service, I called beforehand and was told THAT IT WAS OK TO COME IN. I am a customer. Who is paying you money. Who is going to tip you. Don't be rude to me. So...long story short, I'd rather wait for my girl Rani in DC or visit Kamna instead of enduring passive-aggressive behavior for sub-standard service. read more

This is a totally different nail shop/salon. I called and got scheduled for an appt within 15 mins of calling. I was set up with a very nice young lady with glasses. I was going to get a reg mani but changed my mind to get gel. The reg mani was priced at 15$ and the gel was 28$.. Not bad compared to other places. I was about to actually get a mani in Langley park/Hyattsville but I'm so happy I decided not to!! The nail tech was nice and we had good convo the whole time. I initially picked a mood changing color but it started peeling from the edge of my nail so she quickly suggested we pick a diff color. I picked this greyish blue color that was a non mood changing gel. She applied two coats and then asked if I wanted another coat. I did want another coat and I'm glad she asked me before I asked her. The end result was nice shiny and clean. I will come back because it's perfectly located in between home and work. So I can pop in before work or after work. And she mentioned facials including extractions that take about 1 hour and 15 mins for 85$! Sounds pretty good to me. read more

She's lighthearted and will joke around with you-she makes you feel comfortable and trust, you're in good hands with her. I love this place! After just recently moving from Atlanta, trying to find a bomb nail tech was a struggle. Other nail salons will just put you off on the next available tech even if they don't necessarily know how to do what you want. NOT LAYNA, she makes sure she gives you exactly what you want or better. I've been to her about 6 times now and each time I show her a picture of how I want my nails, she is always spot on and puts her own spin on it. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. EXTREMELY RUDE AND NASTY. I bought a Groupon for this spa back in Feburary and was never able to make an appointment so it expired. All of my groupon users know that when a groupon expires, the merchant still must honor the value of the groupon, and the customer pays the difference of what the regular price of the service is. I called to make an appointment to get my nails done today, and the lady who answered was rude from the START of the conversation. She told me that they were under new management and did not accept groupons. I was going to keep the appointment anyway and just pay full price, until the "new manager" called me back explaining that "She bought the business from someone else and she did not sign up for groupon." She told me that she could not trust groupon users because some people come in with voucher that have already been redeemed." She then told me that "it was my problem", that she "didn't care" and that I "should deal with it". Unacceptable. Had she not been nasty I would have still kept my appointment. That's no way to treat a potential client. Instead I will go to Mimosa (Best Nail Salon in DC) where I am always treated with respect, the facilities are not filthy like Elegance, and where they always do a flawless job. read more

According to the brochure they gave me, they are a full service salon, not just a nail shop. I stopped in and got my eyebrows threaded by Pooja and she did a great job. This is not a Vietnamese spot, but rather and Indian one. First that I've ever come across. The place could be a little neater, if you ask me. The table I had to lay on's sheets could have been cleaner looking. They do facials and use some Swiss line called Hormeta. I'm inclined to believe they are quality products so I will splurge in the near future and report. read more

The first time I got my eyebrows done, people kept saying that they like my eyebrows and asked me where i got them done. Although I went yesterday and feel like the women may have over-threaded my brow. It is not super thin, just not as thick as I wanted it. And she tends to thread more to shape rather than to just thread to clean up. I personally don't like drawing attention to myself and the more people notice and compliment, the more I think that the eyebrow job was a bit extreme for my tastes. However, you get a good job done and that is what matters most. I have never tried other services. this is only for threading. read more

I have been going there several times to do my eyebrows with the thread, I love it! They are very nice people and they do a great job with the eyebrows! I did my nails two weeks ago. I felt like the tech did not know what she was doing. I did not like how she glued the nails with the fake ones. She did the dip powder but it didnt last at least two weeks.
