I came in specifically to get my nails soaked off, which is exactly what I told her. She told me, "Come back in 30 minutes." So I did. When I came back, she tells me, "We don't soak nails." At this point, I'm like, okay... because I have a REAL nail tech doing my nails in the morning. I just need these off. Simple, right? NOPE. She starts aggressively clipping my nails off, and pieces of my nails are literally flying everywhere! She clips the tips off one hand, starts on the other hand, and THEN says, "It's too thick and we don't soak." MA'AM. You could've told me that 30 minutes ago before I came back! I literally have a BIRTHDAY PARTY in TWO HOURS, and now I'm standing here frustrated, with half-done nails, after wasting my time. The customer service was terrible, the communication was terrible, and the whole experience was unnecessarily stressful. Greenbelt Mall, PLEASE replace this nail salon with a much better one! She also worked with another manager at the store and was able to set up my next appointment with a specific tech - I believe it was Emily. Tiffany was very communicative via both text and DM on there Instagram account, which I used to schedule my next appointment. She was also there when I arrived for that appointment to ensure things went smoothly. Emily was very attentive during my service, and ultimately I was happy with this set. I did SNS and Emily finished with a gel top coat. Since I prefer to not have gel that is cured by UV, I may not return regularly. However, this salon has a huge selection of not only regular colors, but specialty colors as well, such as cat eye and jelly polishes. Jelly polishes are definitely on my list to try in the future, so I'll likely be back for that. I very much appreciate the team's outreach and support after my last review, and it's clear that they care greatly for the service they can provide their customers.

I would not have posted any of this had there been a genuine effort to problem-solve with me at the salon. ---- I was extremely disappointed with my experience here, and I will never be coming back. I came in for Gel-X nails, and the technician began applying gel adhesive without even pushing back or properly prepping my cuticles. When I asked for my cuticles to be pushed back before the extensions were applied, I was told it would cost an additional $10. I completely understand charging extra for a full manicure or extensive cuticle trimming. What I do not understand is charging extra for basic nail preparation before applying extensions. Proper prep affects how the nails look, adhere, and last, and I was not comfortable having Gel-X applied to an unprepped nail bed, so I stopped the service. They also charge extra for gel polish, and even though I brought my own, there was no adjustment in price. I was already paying for an expensive pedicure with builder gel and gel polish, so the lack of flexibility over something as basic as cuticle prep felt excessive. I would not recommend this salon to someone who regularly gets their nails done and is willing to pay for quality service. I have no problem paying for my nails, but I do have a problem being charged extra for necessary parts of the service. At that point, it feels less like premium service and more like being ripped off.

This happened after leaving me under the fan for 15 minutes while he enjoyed a phone conversation right in front of me--so I knew it was because he wasn't paying attention--he seems resentful of his customers and unhappy to do this kind of work. Life is too short. I had another heartbreak this year and my beloved nail tech left my salon of eight years. I was devastated and tried to use other people at the salon but it just wasn't the same. Nails were not done properly. I had to ask around and Bella kept being brought up. Even though I had a terrible experience before I tried it again. I have a class at Golds and with having another trip on the weekend I said, "why not" and "spinned the block". I'm glad I did. I didn't have an appointment but luckily I got paired with Sky and well it's a match! I love his work! Omg! He shaped my nails and cut them all the same length! He's perfection! So the moral of the story is... sometimes chapters close for good reason. I loved my old nail tech and he loved me but something's just end and that's okay. Point in case, I think this nail tech might be a little better. God, the Universe, call it what you want but sometimes a closed door is allowing you to open what you need.
