I always get great service when I go and I really appreciate how they are always looking to improve their service.

I have been going here for years for pedicures and waxing with the occasional manicure. About a month ago, My Lee (the owner and the person who takes care of me) talked me into a CND Shellac manicure - and I'm a total convert. Went basic sheer pink the first time, bright red the next and am now wearing a perfect French manicure - no chips, stronger nails and, get this, it lasts for TWO WEEKS or more (I go every 2 weeks). The only thing that showed the age of the manicure was when I got the bright red - the growth of nails was evident from the nail bed. This stuff also dries so fast that there is no risk of smudges - a perfect manicure every time that lasts for a while. My nails are now longer and look great. I went in without an apt. for a shellac nail manicure. The salon was very welcoming and they did an awesome job on my nails. The manicure stayed on and looked great for 10 days before it began to chip slightly but not enough for others to notice as I had gone with a light color (bella). Will go back! :) read more

I realize that there are about a billion and one different places to get your nails done and, let's be honest, most of them suuuuuuuck. However, I read about Nail 2000 (don't be fooled by imitators that use the more common plural form "nails") in Washingtonian magazine a long, long, long time ago and have been a convert ever since. The staff is friendly--but will leave you alone if you want to just close your eyes--and extremely competent. Unlike some other strip mall joints, they have never cut my nails too short, have never hurt me while de-cuticling or de-roughing my feet, and have never given me any kind of nasty foot disease (always a plus!). The price for a regular pedi is $25, and a spa pedi is $40, although I recommend going for the regular since the extra $15 only gets you some scrubbing on the legs instead of just the plain ol' lotion. I am not a manicure-type of girl, but I hear that their french manicures are to die for: perfect white-to-pink ratio. Only other suggestion: Bring your own trash reading unless you relish reading about Britney's breakdown over and over again. read more

All I have to say is FINALLY! After countless crappy french manicures around DC and VA, Nail 2000 has proven good nail salons in the area do exist! Ask for Nancy. Not only did she take the time to seal the crack in one of my nails, she listened to (and remembers) exactly how I like my pink to white ratio (i.e. two coats of ESSIE Sugar Daddy.) It's located in somewhat of an obscure strip mall, but it's definitely worth the trip. I was chip-free for almost a whole week...and ask any bartender, but that's no easy task. :) read more

I went to this store recently and was just so pleased with my experience. I called ahead and they said they would accommodate me when I arrived. I got the spa pedicure which was just amazing and worth every penny. At first I thought it was expensive for $45 but it was an hour service with the sea salt scrub, a minty mask, warm wax- i forget what they call it, amazing massage with an oily lotion, followed by a stone massage. They also put the blue scrub in the water prior to getting in. The chair had a wonderful massager and heated seat which I used because the mint mask made me freezing :) I have pink and white nails that I have had a hard time finding someone who can do them as well as the lady I have been going to for 8 years. Howie was wonderful, he shaped them the way I like, kept them thick which is what I love, and not to mention did not hurt me in any way as I have had horrible experiences at new places where they shave the nail too much or nick your cuticles. He is amazing. My fill was $35 which I thought was very affordable. I recommend this place to anyone. It was extremely clean, they had boxes available for purchase which I hadn't seen anywhere before so you could keep your tools that they use on you at the salon and you were the only one who uses them. read more

I will start by saying I didn't give one star because the girl who did my pedicure seemed to try really hard to make it look good, and make sure that I was comfortable (even brought me a bottle of water). That being said, there wasn't much else good. To put it short, they charged me more than they said they were going to and didn't tell me why, and didn't even bother to clean under any of my nails or get rid of the dead skin. I get in grown nails easy, and the only real relief I find is a good pedicure. I had to go home and do my best to finish the job she didn't. Part of me is glad that she didn't do much though because my friend ended up getting an infection in her toes, so they obviously aren't clean. Overall, it was relaxing, but you are better of going somewhere else. read more

Although this salon is FARRR from my house, it is worth the drive. I was introduced to them through a mutual friend who comes here religiously also and I love love love them! They are friendly as you walk through the door and the salon is very clean and bright. I usually get the shellac manicure (and let me tell you I have gone to about 7 other places).. Nail 2000 has the most colors to choose from, the newest products, and it always lasts up to 2 weeks for me, and the best techs who know how to put them on!! My usual Nail Tech is Mylee or Cookie! I love them both and they are AWESOME!!! However, all the techs that work there have the same great experience.. I have also gotten pedicures from here (just the regular pedicure not the spa but i have heard the spa is awesome) The regular pedicure is great as well!.. They take their time and give you a great massage and a hot stone massage however, when u go to other places they barely rub your feet and then you are done! In conclusion, I love Nail 2000 and I would suggest it to anyone! read more

Technically 3.50 - 3.75 I know, I know - I like round numbers too. But I need to be honest and I need to be objective. Bottom line: would I come here again for the services I received? Absolutely! The Good: very friendly and welcoming staff. Not pushy at all. Wide variety of OPI colors and good selection of Essie and excellent options for Shellac and Gelish. Relatively clean establishment (especially when you think about 'competitors'). Multiple up to date magazines. Advanced dryers for feet and nails (not just your typical fans). Soap dispenser and towel dispensers that activate by motion (not earth-shattering these days BUT I never seen them at nail salons). Very good prices. They accept credit cards and you're not afraid to give them your credit card. They accept tips on credit cards. The Bad: busy as heck, but perhaps because I went during a busy time of the month (pre-holiday). However probably what really annoyed me is the number of women who walked-in with no appointment yet had the BIGGEST attitude that so-and-so couldn't do their mani/pedi by such-and-such time and they were kind of getting mad at the staff for it. "But I have a plane to catch in 2 hours!" I heard this more than once. Incredible. The staff attempted to be as accomodating as possible but it gets me thinking perhaps TOO accomodating because it begets more of this ridiculous behavior. It made no sense. If you're that busy make an appointment! It got me wondering if they were rushing some clients in order to appease the [obnoxious] others. Not good. Similarly, my nail tech was also the one answering phones and coordinating walk-ins. A mess. She was getting interrupted all the time which I did not appreciate, hence the 3.50-3.75 rating. She was very sweet and cordial and did an excellent job with my nails (I got a ton of compliments!), but with all the responsibilities she was given that day, she should not have been doing nails. Yelp, you let us down! Maybe I came on a bad night? I mean it is a Monday. My wife can't seem to find a good nail place so I turned to yelp and insisted on the 20 minute drive even after passing 20 other places on the way. I sometimes get ingrown toe nails so I've learned to get pedicures. I went to a place in falls church 2 weekends ago and my big toes on both feet have been hurting since. I asked her to cut the sides but she was so irritated. Right after she started she handed me a piece of paper saying callus treatment for $15 extra (spa service) well I didn't see a need for it so I said no and I think maybe she took it personally? She was SO concerned with finishing before the timer she set but it was apparent she could not have cared less about my feet. The two girls across from me were so irritated. They had to ask 3 times for there water to be hotter because they had been sitting there that long. My wife's "overlay" they quoted her $30 on phone then half way done told her it would be $35. The front of the house was very polite and the place looks great inside, but unfortunately our search for a nail salon goes on... Update: Stacy... Awesome! After doing an awesome job on my wife's she fixed my feet! I would definitely see her again! read more

Lame. Bebe did my nails for the second time, and no me gusta. Both times were a French shellac, and both times the whites cracked and turned gray within a week. I've gotten a ton of french shellac's with Annie at aislinn spa, but she no longer works there, and now I'm looking for a new place to call home. This is def not home. Annie always did a fantastic job and ive become a bit of a mani snob. And im ok with that. I never had this problem before and I don't know if its the gel they use, or the machines, or she puts too much on, or whatever. But I do NOT pay for a gel manicure only to have my hands look like those of a homeless man within a week. The first time I let it slide; this time I called, and Mai-le fixed it. She basically filed the tips and reapplied the whites. I only really inspected it when I sat down in my automated vehicle, and lo and behold... Another shoddy job. There's gel on my skin and the whites aren't drawn evenly. *Sigh* I'm tired of experimenting with this establishment. Guess ill move on. read more

Nail 2000 is my local go to place for a mani pedi. It's clean and tidy and the technicians are great, especially Stacy. I get a mani pedi that is gentle, relaxing (she does a great hand/foot massage) and lasts for weeks. read more

Worst pedicure in Arlington ! Barely scraped my feet & then charged me an extra $10 to use the scraper when I asked her to do what other salons normally do. I get pedicures every 3 weeks so its not like I had alligator feet! Was trying this place & won't be back! read more

I've gone to Nail 2000 twice based on Yelp reviews. The first time my husband and I went for mani/pedis. Mine was great - I used Tao. His, not so much. The second time I went with a friend. She got gel nails and they turned out beautifully. I got a basic manicure but with the vinylux polish ($5 more). My entire experience was just awful. To make a very long story short, I left with 5 BLEEDING FINGERS AND NO POLISH. Besides all the staff being pushy, my girl being unfriendly, and another girl eating a sucker while working on my nails, my primary concern is with the sanitation. When my fingers began to bleed around my cuticles, they added a blue liquid that was suppose to help it stop. They touched my bloody finger with the tube. How many other people's blood was also on that tube? And who is going to use it after me? Then, while they were still bleeding, they proceeded to apply paint. The paint brush then also got my blood on it. It was a burgundy polish so they did not seem concerned. But how dirty and unsanitary is that!? I likely will not return. I don't usually give up on a place after one bad time, but this about did me in. read more

I've gone here pretty consistently for the past couple of years, and have never had a bad manicure or pedicure. One of the greatest things about this place is that they have boxes with your own materials in them, so every tool they use is only used on you. Plus one for extra cleanliness. This is really pretty amazing in that it is not expensive, the staff is very friendly, and they are, as others have pointed out, skilled at their craft. read more

I can not say enough good things about nails 2000. I only get my nails done about once a month. It is for that reason, each time I go, I want to be very happy with the experience - because it is a "treat" I give myself. The salon is very clean and the staff is very excellent! I usually get the spa pedicure which is totally worth every penny but tonight I had a Shellac French Manicure and a regular pedicure. The whole staff is friendly and truly take their time with you - even at the end of the evening. As usual, it was a great experience but I especially loved the Shellac treatment. I have tried this salon about 6 times. I have silk tips which need some maintenance....but their tips don't even last 10 days. And every time they go to replace a few and I protest, "But you just put that tip on less than two weeks ago!" they treat me as though I am lying. Today was my last try...with a brand new set of tips 10 days old...and they said three were bad and needed to be replaced...over my protests. Also my pedicure was done poorly and I didn't notice til I got home that they smeared one of my big toenails and just left it. read more

This Salon use to be my favorite place locally for a pedicure. My most recent experience was not good. The technician was on her phone the entire time she did my pedicure. I had been in the chair for over ten minutes before she addressed me. The massage on my legs was more like her feeling my legs. From the moment I arrived I could see where this was going. The staff are very pushy and did not listen to what both my daughter and I were asking for. Be careful as there seems to be lot of hidden charges for the slightest little thing. The price list is not what you may end up paying. You need to be very clear on what you do and dont want and dont let yourself be pushed into adding all the little extras. The lady doing my daughters pedicure proceeded to use her cell phone the whole time, which I thought wasreally rude. My manicure was very rushed and badly done. I went to get my nails done for prom, and I swear they looked absolutely PERFECT. They were gorgeous and didn't chip for almost two weeks, it was so well done. My friend got her toenails done also, and they looked amazing. She's an avid swimmer and the chlorine couldn't even chip this pedicure. It was great. The student discount is such a gift and makes it that much more worth it to come here. read more

DONT COME HERE! I've come here in the past for a mani pedi because it was cheap and service was decent. Went in yesterday to have dip powder nails removed, and it was a nightmare. I was ignored for a few minutes while technicians watched Netflix. One was squatting down and wiping the floor with a rag which seemed odd and unhygienic. Then, my technician pried my nails off (including some of my real nail) with an acrylic nail. My nails have never been this damaged, and i know for a fact that what she was doing was incorrect. She told me that this method was better for me than an acetone soak even after i told her that i was in literal pain. One of my nails ripped off so far down that i started bleeding. She did nothing about it. I was then chastised for using dip powder, and the owner tried to convince me to get a shellac manicure. Um..no thank you. Currently very concerned about getting an infection and unsure if my nails will ever be healthy again. Don't risk it here, there are better salons in the area that are cleaner, friendlier and safer! read more

After going to Nail 2000 for 5 years and always being pleased with their services, one bad experience has turned me against the whole place! I decided to try gel nails for the first time. Of course I went to Nail 2000 and Nancy completed my manicure. I left fairly happy, except for the odd shape of a few of my nails. A few weeks later I went to have a "fill" at a place close to work during lunch (with a friend who had been going to the same salon for 10 years) and discovered that I was not given gel at Nail 2000. In fact, I was given acrylic which I was informed would eventually turn yellow. I PAID for gel but was given the cheaper alternative at Nail 2000. Needless to say, I will never go back to Nail 2000! I have told all of my girlfriends who go to the salon and they all vow not to go back! read more

I was a customer of this salon until about 5 years ago. Recent unhappiness with my current salon have forced me out looking again and since this is convenient to my home was a logical stop plus since it's not in a business district I figured it wouldn't be too busy at 11:30 on a Wednesday. They were able to take me as a walk-in for a eyebrow, lip & chin wax, pedicure and a new full set of white tip acrylic with gel nails. Pluses: clean shop, friendly and professional staff, wine and coffee (although too early in the day for the wine for me). Very competent technician, Long, who did a fine job on my pedicure and an excellent job on the waxing (no stray hairs left) and the artificial nails. Delightful chairs that have heat and also a vibration only setting. Plus she didn't push the spa pedicure. Minuses: No paraffin for pedicure. Overall, very pleased with my experience. BtW, for those of you familiar with this salon, it has a new owner. read more

Nails 2000 is a great nail salon. The staff is very friendly and the place is always buzzing. The one drawback is that I always feel like they are trying to "tack on" additional services and up sell each visit. If the staff would calm down a bit on this one aspect, I would definitely give them five stars. Other than that, the place is great. read more

$10 polish change - for what?? No cutting, filing, pushing the cuticle back, buffing or even cleaning under the fingernail. Only the most sloppy, hurried polish application I've ever seen, probably since she was ticked off at me for asking why she isn't doing any of the other things that all other salons do for a $10 polish change. My go-to manicurist in Arlington recently moved out of the area, so I've been trying different places in Arlington to find a replacement. So, I popped into this place and well, it wasn't that great. The manicurist rushed through my manicure, even though it was not busy, but what really got me was that she was argumentative about the color I had chosen for my nails. She kept insisting that I do not use the color I had picked, which was just so odd to me. I insisted she use the color, since it's a color I use often and like, but I've certainly never experienced that before with any manicurist. Now, we'll see how long this manicure actually lasts, but I'm not having high hopes about it. Just based on the experience alone, however, I will not be coming back to this place. read more

My experience was horrible. They do not go through the proper sterilization process. It is overpriced for the quality of service. They cut corners to reduce the cost. At some point one woman doing nails was yelling at another in Vietnamese mixing a few words that made it obvious she was unhappy about a customer's request. Very unprofessional! read more

Have been there several times recently and service is inconsistent. Pedicures satisfactory. Manicures--worst was today where the nail tech seemed extremely inexperienced, kept asking others what to do at every step of the interaction, rough nail tips had to be filed at home afterward and thick application of polish was uneven. I might just take it off and apply it myself. Which might look better. Which defeats the purpose of paying for a manicure. read more

OK its a trek from my house to get over here in Arlington, but I think I finally found a nail place that does a job has good has the the place I was going to in NC. I had a spa pedi and a regular mani. Price wise I thought it was little high at $55 but the paraffin treatment, hot stone, and 45 minute shin and foot message made it worth the extra $10 than I had been paying at the nail salon by my house. I also got my lip and eye brows waxed, I have had this done before but never this well, there is not a stray hair on my lid! I might also add this is the first time I have ever been told if it gets puffy to put a cold wet cloth on it,(I knew this, but it was nice to have someone tell me)I don't know how long my mani will last, but I hope it lasts all week (most I have had lasted less then a week) I might also add that they use OPI nail color, base, and top coat, most of the places I have been use OPI nail color but the cheap stuff for the base coat, and top coat. I can actually tell the difference when I touch my nails, this stuff feels hard and smooth, not bumpy and lumpy. read more
