I'm happy to report that I've been a customer of Kosmo for over 2 years! Although I've tried other nail salons that are closer to home due to convenience and/or when I'm in a time crunch, I definitely don't receive the same level of attention to my nails or great service elsewhere and would always end up back here! Elaine is my nail tech and she's always done an amazing job on my manicures and pedicures. She's always flexible with scheduling which I always appreciate. I've only done SNS and the wide selection of colors that they offer here are unbeatable! They also have a variety of gel and regular nail polishes as well. My nails usually last a minimum of 3 weeks without chipping. The salon itself has beautiful decor, is clean, and has great customer service from the nail techs to the cashier. They also have a membership rewards program that's linked to your phone number, which is always a plus. Tip can be added on by credit card, but I always bring cash! read more

My daughter and I love getting our manicures and pedicures done at Kosmos on Beverly. The customer service is consistently friendly, and we always leave feeling relaxed with our nails looking perfect! The shop is spotless and, unlike many salons, it doesn't have that strong chemical smell. The ambiance is modern and chic. While it's usually not too busy to accommodate walk-ins, it's still a good idea to make an appointment just in case. Highly recommend! read more

Great place for a pedicure! The nail salon is nice and clean. It's fairly new and just opened up a year and a half ago in August 2017. I was lucky to do a walk-in and although it was full, the staff managed to squeeze me in! The nail technicians are really nice and asked me not only how I want my nails done, but asked me to check them multiple times. She did a great job filing them and scrubbing my legs and feet with a relaxing massage. The Margarita pedicure with the scrub and short massage is totally worth paying an extra $10! I rarely get my nails done as most nail bars are dirty with rookie standoffish technicians who ruin my nails and don't understand what I'm saying. For the first time in years, I had a great relaxing experience getting my nails done. So glad I found this nice nail salon in McLean - it's now my go to! read more

I have since moved to Ashburn and Alexandria, but I continue to drive the distance to see Holly (and even make appointments, which I never used to do elsewhere!). I am very picky and particular about my manicure shape and color, and Holly doesn't disappoint when I bring her pictures or try to explain what I want. I have worked with almost every nail tech there and I'd recommend any one of them. If I don't like something, they're always accommodating to fix it before I leave so I don't walk out with something I'm not happy with. While I realize getting things exact is pretty difficult my results were a bit wonky and less than professional. David agreed and we are going to work together to try to get it right in the future. I'll admit I'm pretty picky with my nails, but I really don't believe this nail salon is up to par. I ended up paying $43. I requested gel/shellac nails and it doesn't seem to be this salons strong suit. I was also told that the almond shape would be extra ($5). The application was bumpy, most obvious on my thumb. The edge work was terrible, and I pointed it out a couple of times but my nail tech just kept snipping it or kept trying to buff it down. I love this place Emily and Kelsey are great! My nails never disappoint! The staff is friendly and I always leave super happy with how my nails look! Some of these negative reviews are so beyond rude and uncalled for (Nana M. for example). Calling out someone who is just trying to make a living and saying they should be fired is unnecessary, to say the least. I live in Washington, DC, but I consider it very worth my time and money to go here! I have been seeing Kelly for dip manicures for about 5 months now and she ALWAYS exceeds my expectations, every single time. I am fairly picky about my nails and have high standards, but Kelly says that she does whatever the customer wants and I leave happy every time. She is extremely skilled and her work is nothing short of perfect -- absolutely meticulous! This is truly the way a salon experience should be. I have tried several places in the city which are reputable and receive good reviews, but I swear that no one is as good as Kelly or Kosmo Salon. I think the fact that I come from DC to get my nails done here should tell you a lot about the standard of quality that you receive from this salon. The salon is also always extremely clean, much cleaner than you typically encounter, and everyone is super nice. Love this place but they have this one male worker that consistently does a terrible job on nails. Me as well as others have had terrible experiences with this same person and have complained several times. I'm not sure if he has the proper training for this since services take nearly 2x as long and are painful. Decor I thought the atmosphere and the decor of this nail saloon was very pleasant. It's fresh and modern. It was definitely enjoyable to visit. The leather chairs are nice quality and there is a cute nail bar in the middle of the room. However, I would recommend a few improvements: it is very tight between the pedicure and manicure stations so not a lot of room for jackets. It would be great to have a place to put outer wear. SNS nail color choices There were a lot of choices but the majority of them had sparkles so it was limiting for me and my best friend to find the color we liked as we don't like sparkles and need something more professional for work. Customer Services I think both of the ladies were very professional and did a great job in taking care of us and adjusting to our nail requirements. Having said that, it would have been great if they/ or someone else introduced the technicians who will be taking care of us. I was a bit confused who will be working with me, plus it's just nice to know and refer to someone by their name. This is generally a basic in the service industry. I've been here twice thus far and I do not think I'm going anywhere else. After almost one year of searching high and low for a nail salon in McLean that performed adequate work, had decent customer service and was not ridiculously expensive, I had almost given up hope. I was still traveling to MD to get an acrylic fill-in that would not lift after a week. I'm sure I patronized every salon 10 miles in each direction from my house in McLean to no avail; and ended up soaking my nails off and settling on a polish-less home manicure. One snowy day I traveled to Kosmo after reading the reviews on Yelp. The place was empty and almost about to shut down but they took me; kudos for Kosmo! My first gel manicure was amazing. The gel polish options were plentiful and the manicurist advised that I should try SNS, a healthier acrylic alternative. My second time visiting was even better as I also got a pedicure. The green tea option is to die for. The gel manicure does not last two weeks, like I'd hope but at no fault to the staff. I am really hard on using my hands from daily water submergence to a nasty finger-in-mouth habit. I will try the SNS on my next visit. This is my new go-to place. Not only is it about 7 minutes from my home but the staff is patient, knowledgeable and the environment is welcoming and comforting. read more

Despite the high rating for this place, I didn't have a good experience. I called and set a pedicure appointment for the same day. I was greeted by a guy that spoke so softly I couldn't hear him. (Long story short, he knows he's hard to hear and doesn't want to change. It annoys his colleagues as well.) My nail technician didn't intro herself; assumed I wanted basic pedicure. I asked to see the service listing. I picked Margarita because I wanted a massage. Bottom line: lackluster pedicure and no massage. She didn't interact with me and walked away...didn't say goodbye and roll down my leggings. I didn't know she was done I sat in the chair watching what was going on elsewhere. I wondered when the massage would come. It didn't. "Quiet boy" took $5 off my bill. The other technicians were much more attentive to their clients; so I get why there are good reviews. But, this was very disappointing for me. BTW, The "quiet boy" who greeted me was inappropriate to one of those good technicians. Management needs to get better. He should not greet ppl and he shouldn't assign new ppl appointments. read more

Lovely place with lovely concept! Their manicure/pedicure menus are quite sweet and plenty for you to choose from. Prices are just a tiny bit on the higher end, but they are located in McLean. For the service, cleanliness, and the vibes they put off, it's worth the price. They also planned well before reopening during this covid time, most nail techs are wearing face shields, if not, all have masks on. You also have shields between you and the nail tech. Largely new faces now and no one seems to care about customer service - just churn in and out while trying to upsell. I visited Kosmo nail bar last night upon my friends' recommendation. The place is just off Old Dominion Dr. it's not a huge salon but very cozy nonetheless. My manicurist was Elaine. She's was very sweet, got rid off the horrible nails I had before and did a great job with my cuticles. The salon has a huge selection of gel nail polishes and powder manicure is also available. I should also mention this is a great place to take your mother or daughter for a "girly" outing. Recommend Elaine and the entire salon staff. read more
