Although I've moved farther away within the area, there is an unspoken trust between myself and Lydia and I honestly can't imagine going anywhere else so I make the commute over here. She also provides other waxing services such as underarms and arms as well. As I've said in my previous review, the studio is clean and hygienic! Lydia is also very meticulous and thorough with her craft. Although the experience can be uncomfortable, the results are well worth it! Her packages are fairly priced and can be used within 6 months of purchase. You can easily make appointments online through their booking system and tip is accepted through cash and credit card. COVID-19 protocols include wearing a mask at all times and a temperature check. Lydia also changes gloves frequently throughout the service and sanitizes her space frequently. I've only ever gotten a brazilian from Sugaring Studio but I can confidently say that this place is the best at what they do. Not only is she very detailed and thorough, she is a very sweet lady and makes sure you have a pleasant experience here. There are good Groupon deals, but she has even better deals for first time customers and will be very accommodating to your needs. So I recommend contacting her about her offer before you get yourself a Groupon deal! The sugaring process is less painful than wax and has less "side effects" in my opinion. She also goes on to pluck any remaining hairs with a tweezer once she's done. It keeps the area clean for months and the more you get it done, the longer it takes for it to grow out. There was a different woman at each of my 2 appointments, and I'm assuming based on the reviews that Lydia was the tech that was a little more friendly. Not that they both weren't nice! They have packaged deals available to purchase since you can only purchase the groupon once as a new customer. It's so far out of my way, so I'm going to try a place a little closer to home. I started out w/a Groupon deal my very first visit & I'm glad I took the advice from my girlfriend who recommended this studio. The waiting room was nicely decorated and clean. The service room was also well put and had music playing in the background where it helped put me at ease. I'd have to say as painful as it may be, as a second timer, Lydia was great. She is patient and it would help for her to countdown towards the more sensitive areas so that I could brace myself. To be honest, what else can you expect from a Brazilian? I don't think any other sugaring studio or waxing place in the area could top this one. I've been to a few in the area and after one visit here, I knew I was staying. I initially came because of the Groupon, but stayed because of the experience. The place is very quiet, calming, clean and inviting. There are two ladies here who do the waxing and both of them are extremely attentive and overall amazing. I never knew that someone could be as thorough as they are with Brazillians. And when I say thorough, I mean between the thighs, cheeks, everything around and in between). They even tweeze and give you a lil spritz at the end. The best part about this place is it doesn't hurt as much. They press firmly on your skin immediately after every time they remove your hair and I am super appreciative. I highly recommend this place and I know I will be coming back. Remember to ask for the package deals if you frequently wax. read more

Very neat place with clean white towels lining the bed. There are bottles of water provided as well. Lidia is a very nice woman. She was very thorough, focused, and got pretty much every hair. I heard about this place from Groupon. I got a Brazilian and Lidia made sure I was comfortable. If there are hairs that are too short to be waxed, she will tweeze them. The sugar wax was a good temperature and not burning. She also changed gloves multiple times during the session. It was my second time getting a Brazilian and it hurt more (waited too long between sessions), but the experience was better here. :-) Edit: Waxing bumps (folliculitis) came up about a day after waxing (on Thursday) and are subsiding today (Saturday). So, don't worry too much if you get them, just plan ahead in case it happens. read more

I went here today for my first Brazilian sugar wax. I was super excited because of the good reviews and I got a great deal through Groupon. Pros: -easy to find -good deal -clean & nice studio - after product is wonderful. Cons: - customer experience wasn't the greatest, -per reviews that I read, I was expecting a more interactive experience and one that would lessen my nervousness. I expected her to talk me through the process and let me know if sections would hurt worse than others, tell me what she was doing, etc. - I left visibly in a lot of pain, and the technician promptly left the room after my waxing, she didn't tell me how to care for it in the next few days, what I could or couldn't do, or how to treat my incredibly red, and bleed, waxed area. Overall I'm pleased with the results, but the customer experience was not great. I left in a lot of pain and overall upset. I wish the technician had been better, because I do like the results and it's something I would consider again. read more

I started coming here from a Groupon deal I found. Unfortunately I only bought one deal! Should've gotten the two session Brazilian deal. Anyway after I used my deal I tried another place and wasn't satisfied so I ended up coming back here and bought the 6 month package. Yes, it's quite pricey but Lydia does such a great job. The place to go for a THOROUGH Brazilian. I have been to so many waxing/sugaring studios in the DMV and this one takes the cake. There is nothing worse than when you get a wax and it is a rush job or pesky hairs are left behind on your inner thighs or elsewhere. Not something you have to worry about here. What I love is the care taken to remove any leftover hairs with tweezers. Yes, the appointments are longer than a typical 15 minute wax but I really appreciate the time the ladies put in. The place itself is very home-y, comfortable, and clean. Although the prices are steep, I have found it worth it, as from doing research on "sugaring," it seems to be a much better option now than normal waxing. I only have done waxing a couple of times, and this is the only place I have ever tried sugaring, so I don't have much compare to, but my first time DID KILL. I don't know how I found myself back there for a 2nd time other then the results were very desirable and they had promised it would hurt less the 2nd time, which it did!! YAY!! I am doing a package there for 4 times within 6 months, to lower the prices a tid bit. They are very attentive to detail. I had Lydia for my 2nd time, who was super sweet and as the prior reviews indicate, helps you with breathing techniques to help you get through the pain. If there's one thing I can't stand whether it's a small local or large commercial business is POOR customer service. I went to this location about a month ago and had a decent sugaring experience. Afterwards I spoke with the lady who did the waxing about package options and mentioned buying the larger options on Groupon if I were happy with the results. It could have been the language barrier, she spoke little English, but she didn't mention anything about the price differences or Groupon deals being exclusive to NEW CLIENTS. Fast forward...a $200.00 Groupon purchase later I called to make an appointment. After confirming that I've gone there before EILEEN informed me in a not so polite manner that the groupon deal is only for new clients. I let Eileen know that I was surprised that a 200.00 purchase would only be available for new clients. Who would spend that money before testing the services?? Really?? She proceeded to tell me that there was nothing she could do. I reiterated that this was $200.00 that they planned on just taking from me. No sympathy, no empathy, no apology, nothing from Eileen. I asked to speak to a manager or owner. Apparently they don't exist at Sugaring Studio Inc. Eileen, with her superior customer communication skills, is it. You can't speak to anyone else besides Groupon. It's understandable if you see this as me simply not reading the fine print, but how the situation was handled was unreal...no manager I could speak with...no sympathy.....no offer to pay a differential or apply the money towards a different package offered...etc Could you imagine if you went in and something went seriously awry with your treatment? No manager, no owner, just Eileen and her sympathy. I would never recommend this place to anyone. The customer service was awful with no escalation point. Thankfully Groupon has great customer service and I could work with them to get a refund with one phone call and no frustration. read more

Holy crap. I've been doing this for years and this was not only the MOST thorough, but it was also the LEAST painful Brazilian I've ever had. Sugaring is the way to go. I tried out this place by chance (had a groupon deal) but it's definitely worth paying full price. Although a bit more pricey than hard/soft wax, I've noticed 1) NO stubble - it is completely GONE 2) the hair seems to be growing back less quickly. 3) did I mention that it's MUCH LESS painful? I also ended up getting a lip wax for $10 (a pretty good deal imo). She ended the appointment with a massage which was nice. All in all, if you're going to get waxed down there, you want to make sure the experience was worth it. This has to be first time, I can honestly say that I was 100% satisfied. Some tips - Shares a space w/ "Me Plus Massage", so look for that sign when you're trying to find the building. MC/Visa is accepted Cash for tip is preferred, but you can tip on the card. read more

I was looking for a new place for bikini wax nearby. My old place in Arlington closed. I've been to Red Door but they're too pricey. I've been to the spa at the Gaylord but the quality has diminished. I read the reviews on Yelp for Sugaring Studio and saw that they usually have a Groupon available. So I decided to give it a try and I bought a Brazilian wax Groupon (can only be used once as a new client). The location is convenient. They have a small place but it's very cute and clean. The girl at the front desk was very nice. The lady who did my wax was great. I could tell that she's a pro. This was my first time sugaring. As other people mention, I felt it was less painful. I don't think there was one piece of hair left...seriously. I'm used to paying $45 for a bikini wax at my old spa. So I will have to get used to paying more in the future. The Studio does have packages where you can pay $200 for 4 Brazilian waxes, but you have to use them within 6 months. Something for me to think about. I really need to be better about keeping up with maintenance LOL. read more

I confidently give Sugaring Studio Inc. 5 stars! It has been 4 days since my visit, so I feel I can write an accurate review. As for some background information, I have sporadically (3-4x per year) been getting Brazilian's over the past few years. However I have never done sugaring until now. I have very thick, coarse, hair. In the past, brazilian's using the normal wax, is usually very painful. It also gives waxing bumps after. Now that I have tried sugaring, some things have been different. The sugaring wax did still hurt, but the pain wasn't as bad. I would say there was an estimate of a 25% reduction in pain. Maybe the pain will be less with the recommended maintenance. Also, it has been 4 days and I don't have any ingrown hairs or waxing bumps AT ALL! I'm smooth as baby feet! As for the service, Lydia was amazing. She got right to work and I felt comfortable. After being held in certain positions for a while she made sure to massage my hip area (in a good way). It did take 45 mins for the whole process, but that was probably due to the fact that I came in as a virgin (you know what I mean, lol). She also took her time to assure all hairs were removed. She even removed ingrown hairs by squeezing them out. It was like a pinch of pain. Each time she grabbed for new wax, she completely removed her gloves and got a new ones to be sure not to cross contaminate. The location looks like a a doctors office but it was still nice and clean. I live in Loudoun County but I have no problem traveling to Tyson's Corner area for good service. Just to say how fantastic the service is.I was told first time yelp finders pay $39. However, I chose to purchase the unlimited for 6 mths package for $200. Be careful as this is for new customers only. You can't get the yelp deal and package deal. One or the other. Only thing is the original price is $90. It's great service, but damn that's a lot! I was pretty pissed when I first arrived. I got here 20 minutes before my appt and waited outside for 19 of those 20 minutes. But Lydia was at lunch and even though it was a little inconvenient for me, it's understandable. Plus she's the only one working right now when before there was a person at the front desk. Nonetheless the customer service and attention to detail Lydia gives is well worth it. I can't even be mad because she does such a great job and she doesn't miss a hair! On top of that she tries to make the process as painless as possible which is highly appreciated. The appointment started off bad bc I had spent 45min in rush hour traffic trying to get to appt only to find out that they wouldn't accept my second appointment from groupon. I was laid off form my job, then took on a PT job and my hours were significantly reduced recently. I was so upset I walked out bc I liked Lydia and had hoped to move my business there and recommend it to my network of friends. I really needed the appt today and tried to find another sugaring place to get it done but given my appt was at 7pm I had no luck. I had to go back in and agree to pay extra. I was really upset bc it had been a tough week. Well, Lydia worked with me on the financial side which was a huge relief. It's nice to be heard and to have customer service that is above and beyond (which was better than the initial response I got). I feel truly blessed that this worked out and bc of end result, regardless of the earlier stress, I walked away happy. Lydia is hands down really amazing and skilled in her profession. I'm looking forward to hopefully finding a better job so that I can start going there on a regular basis and sign up for a package deal. Because of my positive first visit and the ending of my second visit paired with Lydia's skills, This is officially my place that is replacing my old waxing studios. Sugaring is 10x better and the overall experience (much less painful than waxing) and my skin never reacts bad like it did the last time I was waxed. If your getting Brazilian waxes, STOP!!! Super Sweet Sugaring Sessions Sugaring was a new experience for me and I was pleasantly surprised. I had half the amount of irritation I normally get from waxing and it hurt 50% less too! I was amazed. The Sugaring Studio was super professional and did a great job. They explained to me the differences between waxing and sugaring and did a flawless job getting every single little stubborn hair. They even take out the tweezers to make sure they get it all! I recently moved to DC area and was looking for a Brazilian place. I happen to come across this place on living social. I cannot be happier to have brought this deal! As I walked in, the girl at the reception desk welcomed me in with a smile and the ambience was nice and cozy. It isn't the high end glamour but it was certainly clean and very well kept! The technician walked me to the room and she knew her sugaring skills!!! She knew when the sugar was getting cold and dry, and when she had to go in smaller portions vs. larger chucks etc., She didn't speak a lot of English but she was very enthusiastic and gave me a couple of tips on good Korean restaurants around here while I was there. She was wearing gloves at all times which is extremely important for me. I do not want bare hands touching me even if she washed a second ago. Lydia far surpassed my expectations. Even at 26 weeks pregnant, this was the least painful sugaring I've ever experienced. She would have me breath during the extra sensitive areas which made them very tolerable. After a very thorough waxing she got out the tweezers! I think she tweezed just as many hairs as she waxed! I found this place through Groupon 3-4 years ago. Groupon is only for first time customers. It says so on the Groupon. I moved away, moved back, tried other sugaring/waxing/shaving when traveling for work and I always come back to Lydia. I've never found someone who matches her professionalism, efficiency, and detail. I've been to her dozens of times and use the packages to make it a bit more affordable. I think shes worth the money; good location, and there's always parking. I also appreciate her evening and weekend hours, although Saturday appts are hard to come by. This is not a place that's going to give you a fluffy robe and champagne glass but they're going to do a better job than the places that try to pretend waxing is a comfortable fun experience. read more

The only reason why I'm even getting them a star is because I do feel smooth but other than that, this was the worst experience of my life. First, I did not feel comfortable at all. This was my second time ever getting sugaring but if was my first time, I would not know what's going on because they do not explain ANYTHING to you. The lady was rushing, she just wanted to get another client in, did not seem to care about how I was reacting to the pain/sugaring. Did not make me feel comfortable and I felt like they tweezed more than the actual sugaring process. This was probably the best Brazilians I've ever received!! I found this place on Groupon and decided to give it a try. I am so incredibly happy I came here. There are 2 ladies that did my waxing service and they were so precise and efficient. It started out just like the other sugaring treatment I've received, but my favorite part was at the end when they tweezed the stray hairs. They were so detailed and even got this one ingrown hair that I didn't even know I had! Other places I've been to just quickly tweeze any big hairs that were left behind, but they went in and got EVERYTHING. I've never left feeling so smooth. It's normally super smooth, but this helped me uncover a whole other level of smooth that I didn't know existed LOL. I really want to return, but the returning price is $70 which is steep for me. However, I was pleasantly surprised that it was not as painful as I'd expected! Receptionist was very kind and reassured me that everything will be just fine! Just went there! The receptionist is a sweetheart. The decor is simple and pleasant. The process took about 30 minutes. Since I was a new customer, I had to fill out a short paper taking name and address blah blah the usual. I heard about this place from groupon. I bought two sugaring waxes for $55. It's a bit of a drive for me but they had good reviews so I decided to do it, and I'm happy I did! My actual experience with the waxer was good. She was not very talkative, but I think that's because she had limited English. She was still a very good waxer and seemed like a nice lady. Will update when I go back for my second wax :) read more
