The manicure was untidy, bad and hurtful. Instead of cleaning skin and cuticle, she trimmed my skin and it's really painful and looks ugly. What's worse, I let them know of the pain and dissatisfaction the following day and they just IGNORED me. I decided to treat myself for a pedi on my birthday. It was a Thursday afternoon and surprisingly busy! I had to wait a few minutes, no big deal. This is a smaller salon so make sure you come prepared to wait if necessary. The massage chairs are excellent. Seriously I'm dreaming about coming back even though my toes are still in good shape! New owners. Ripping off previous customers of the spa by throwing away tool kits purchased previously and not reimbursing them. They didn't even make an effort to return them even though they have the customers info. I'm their machine at front desk. You are on your own. The four stars they have were given to previous management and staff who were wonderful. That is no more. I was a customer for 20 years. They lost my business . Staff is friendly, color selection is good. (Although they could stand to organize it a bit better) It's clean, the tools are all sterilized. Going into my pedicure and manicure I had high hopes after reading the reviews but I was left unsatisfied.... When I got my pedicure 10 out of 10 great service clean nail paint job and was attentive to detail! When I got acrylics for my nails it was a different story, she was super quick going through the process and I even commented on it and she just laughed. When she finished up she just walked away and didn't say anything to me so I started looking on my nails and it was a mess... there was paint under my nails and uneven lines on the sides of nails and nail glue on my fingers. When I got home I had to fix my own nails to get them cleaned up and fixed. Extremely overpriced for not so good of a job. To sum it all up they charged me 85$ and got upset when I didn't tip more! read more

Over the years, I have been to various nail salons, but have never been truly happy with the results except for one salon in the Cheslea neighborhood of New York City. However, for the first time, I've found one near me! I have never been happier with any manicurist as I have been with Tammy. She is very professional and does a wonderful job. My French gel manicure lasted 2.5 weeks and the regular pedicure is still lasting at 3.5 weeks. Remember that this place does not allow you to pay the tip with a credit card, so bring enough cash for tip. read more

The BEST EVER. I went in to have a pedicure only due to my limited time. Wow! The Attention, friendliness and level of care was like: Wow! So, I decided ro get a manicure as well. I had a nail that has been slittibg for years and although, I get others to fix it, it comes back.Again, it was superior. I can't recommend this enough. When I walked in I had high hopes but I was let dow.. first of all I called and asked how much it would be but once I got there i was told that it was 10 dollars more (and it was the same person I talked to on the phone) .. the whole time she was pulling my arm up and yanking it down and getting frustrated but wouldn't tell me which she wanted so I was just sitting there so not relaxing and the nails are not the shape I showed her and they are all different sizes. Use to adore coming here and have brought a lot of friends the last couple years with me. My most recent experience with the service though was so poor that I felt the need to review. They have been making changes in the last few months, with one seemingly being different management (?). I called ahead to see if I could bring my friend and I in for a mani/pedi at 5:15. They let me know that it was too busy, but 6pm would work. We arrived together at 6pm, in which we were not acknowledged whatsoever until 6:30. I had to walk my friend over to show her where to pick out nail colors, and if it weren't for thinking we'd be seen shortly, I would have walked out much earlier. My friend finally got taken back for a mani (before the pedicure?) around 6:30, as I continued to wait until 7:10. I had gotten up twice during this time to bring to the technician's attention that I have been waiting a heck of a long time for having made an appointment. He seemed to be very insensitive back to this and continued to make false promises of how much longer it would be. When I finally was taken back, I opted-out of doing the pedicure as I just no longer had any time/patience. Thank goodness I was seen by Mary, since I love her!! Note - we were not the only ones with this experience. The lady next to me was apparently waiting since 5pm, with eventually just walking out having having no service provided. BTW - Mary is awesome!! I do not want this review to put her in a negative light whatsoever, as she takes her time and smiles every time she provides a mani/pedi. They did just an ok job. My nails looked nice but I have issues with dry feet and only splurge on a pedicure when it's really time to get all the dry skin off. This pedicure didn't do that for me... Felt like a waste of $. They hardly scrubbed my feet and I left feeling skeptical about the quality. Besides having prettier toe nails, there was not much of an improvement at all in my feet. Not quite the relaxing experience I was hoping for after a long day, but it wasn't a bad experience by any means. I came in for a pedicure and gel manicure and they did my gel manicure while I was getting my pedicure. Like, the whole thing, with the UV light and all (they had the UV light sitting on top of a pillow on my lap). Made it a bit hard to concentrate on relaxing during my pedicure, especially since I had to be careful not to move too much or bump my nails. Other than that, they did an OK job, my nails weren't perfect but they looked nice enough- until the color started wearing off after a few days and became translucent in spots (have never seen that before). NEVER AGAIN! I've been here a couple times for a mani/pedi, they have all been ok, nothing special however today I went in for an eyebrow waxing and will NEVER return again. The girl (didn't get her name) began by accidentally dripping hot wax from above my eyebrow down into the corner of my eye and played it off like it was nothing. I mistakenly let her continue. Upon finishing, she had also ripped out part of the hairs from the thickest part of my eyebrows creating a very noticeable hole. When questioning this, she told me, "you had that before already" then admitted that she made a mistake but still no apology. Great French manicure here -- spoke with numerous staff, who were very friendly. We came in when it was getting close to the end of the day but they did not make us feel rushed. Daniel gave my BF a great pedicure / foot scrub. I really liked the special cucumber manicure treatment. This was one of my first manicures -- and I did end up going with the suggestion by the manicurist to get gel on top... It looks amazing though I'm not looking forward to the process / pain of taking it off! So we will see how that goes. I used to go to Janet's Nail Palace in McLean's shopping center down 123, but I was dissatisfied with their cleanliness and personality. I decided to try Lotus and was converted upon my first visit! The techs were kind and knowledgable and the equipment was very clean--everything in sealed bags/fresh towels from the towel oven (?) etc. I've gotten both traditional manicures and acrylic full sets/gel full sets at Lotus and all of them resulted in precise work from a relaxing experience. I love the services here. I regularly get a manicure, pedicure and my eyebrows done. I live in Old Town and there are probably 100 nails salons that are closer, but it is worth the drive to McLean. The ladies are lovely, professional and efficient. My nails always look perfect when I leave and the color lasts well. The prices are very competitive and parking is easy.
