my mother comes here biweekly for as long as i can remember. i'm much more disorganized, and since i work with my hands building painting etc my nails are always a wreck but any time there's been an occasion where i've needed my nails to resemble a humans, these ladies manage to resurrect my nails from the most chipped, broken pitiful into just about perfect. in all fairness, i haven't gone to many other salons to draw a fair comparison, but i guess i really haven't had a reason to go elsewhere either. :) read more

If only if only... *sigh* my little tootsies (ok who am I kidding, my big fat feet) and I enjoyed the pampering in this diamond in the rough nail shop. You can't tell from the exterior but inside they've got it going on. Reasonable prices. Friendly faces. Plenty of seats. My only problem was the I got cut... And sadly infected :( my first time ever in all the pedis of my life. BUT it wasn't too bad, no my foot didn't turn green and fall off. Very minor. Even though this happened to me I would be willing to give it a try again if I was in the area. Why? Because they have sterilizing machines and if I asked Im sure I could have a set of tools dedicated to me. So yes I'm a fan even though something bad happened. I used to love Nail 2000. Their service, for the most part, is really good. They're all very kind and with an exception of one or two of the nail technicians, they are all very skilled and thorough. However, and this is a big however, I've been coming in recently to get gel manicures. NORMALLY, gel manicures will last me 2+ weeks. The second to last time I went in, I had chips and peeling after 1 week (never happened before) and had to get them removed. I figured it was a fluke so I went back a week ago and got another gel manicure. IT CHIPPED THE SAME DAY. Normally I don't get chips at the ends of my nails (they normally lift up from the sides after two weeks with zero chips on the end) but I had so many by the day after... I went in 3 days later (I would have gone earlier had I not been out of town) and had them fix it (which they did eagerly, and for free). But here I am, a week later than the date I originally got them done, and they're chipped all over, and half of the polish on one of my nails just came right off. It's frustrating when you're such a loyal customer and pay so much for a service, but then are left with nails that chip so easily. I'm currently looking for a new salon that can provide a gel manicure that does what it's supposed to do :( read more

WAXING WAS TERRIBLE! I stopped in for an eyebrow and upper lip wax, pretty darn straightforward, and left with wax still on my face and in my HAIR! When I pointed it out, the technician took acetone from a nail station and proceeded to finger comb it through my hair. It was definitely still there afterwards, but now more spread out. No apologies, told me she did nothing wrong, and now I have wax everywhere and $20 poorer. Not to mention, the paper on the table was crinkly, clearly left there from another client (so I just left my coat on) and I had to remind her to wax between the brows. Worst again service ever. Don't know how nail services are. read more

I have been coming here for more years than I care to name. I have natural nails, and often have a hard time finding a nail tech that works well with them. This salon is fabulous, they just expanded to have more pedicure chairs, including a cute one for the kids. The majority of their technicians are great and I rarely have any experience with them that is sub-par. This is simply a great local salon. read more

I went there last night after trying to find a good place to get my nails did in Arlington. I go 2-3 times a year so it better be worth my time/money. I got a french manicure and I LOVE it. It wasn't the cleanest place I've ever been (outside of a day spa or something) and the lady that did my nails asked me so many times if I wanted fake nails. With each "no+excuse," she had another idea of why I should get them. Besides that, great place, go after work on a weekday and plenty of parking! Oh and I think a lot more places are doing this - if you are paying by debit/credit, tell them the total. You can't add it afterwards. Good thing I had cash! read more

I've been searching for a nail spa that offers the perfect blend of ambiance, exceptional service and skill...hard to find in this area. However, I hit the jackpot with Nails 2000! Today, I got a Shellac mani and polish change. I was a little dismayed when I arrived, as the nail tech with whom I had an appointment was busy with someone else and I was going to see an unfamiliar nail tech; however Helen is fantastic! I have never received a manicure that almost put me to sleep until now. Her skill and customer service were excellent, and if all works out with my Shellac manicure, I'm a customer for life. $42 later...my hands and toes are B-U-Tiful ;) Thanks Helen! Nails 2000 is the best place around! I always go to Tao. She takes her time to get to know you, and makes sure everything is perfect. I also think her Shallac manicure lasts longer than others. Wax is ok but cheap. read more

This place was okay. I went here because my normal shop had a ton of walk-ins and I didn't have time to wait. My pedicure is fantastic, but the gel manicure was rushed, and after 7 days my nails look like they have been on for 2 weeks. Also, I wish more technicians would put 3 coats of polish on when they use the darker colors. Next time I'll be sure to ask, my normal shop does it without questioning. And now I realize why. Yes, guys can go here as well !! And I am a straight guy who likes a relaxing pedicure and/or a massage. The massage was not your typical average massage but with Asian technique. Deep tissue with elbow digging and lite back cracking. The pedicure is relaxing and soothing with an ankle and leg massage to finish it up. I agree you get some spoiled women in there with attitudes, but sometimes you need to tell them to quit their bitching and shut-up because some people are trying to relax. Guys, go with your women on Sat and they will turn College football on while you get your pedicure. read more

Outstanding work and service. I noticed that they had a cute little pedi chair for kids, that is kid sized. So that is a huge plus. Also they have a few girls that do decent designs, if you're into that sort of thing The girl who did my mani was very nice. Friendly enough and spoke decent English (you laugh now, but see who's laughing when you try other nail places). She was very meticulous but also speedy. I've been coming here for years but I will now be looking for a new nail shop. Today was the most miserable nail experience. It's 84 degrees and there was no AC turned on. It was extremely hot and with the hot foot bath, hot stones and hot towels I started sweating. I asked them to turn on the AC or put on a fan and they said it was cold. But they did put on a fan. I'm pregnant and the technicians would not stop talking about my stomach. It really started to get rude when I was asked if I was expecting twins and they kept saying how big I was. No idea why they were all obsessed with my pregnancy. There was no relaxing music on and all of the technicians were talking extremely loud the entire time. I thought I would have a relaxing experience and it was the exact opposite of that. Instead I was insulted, sweating and miserable. I've also noticed the last 3 times I've went the OPI colors have diminished. It's summer time and they only have really dark colors or light spring colors but no bright colors. I asked 2 techs and they said that was all they had. When I questioned again that I was unhappy with the selection another tech said oh you can pick off of this wall too. No idea why the other techs didn't tell me that in the first place. I know it is there job to push more nail services but I got tired of making up excuses why I didn't want more massage time, a shoulder massage etc. Sadly, I'll be taking my business elsewhere. read more

When I asked her to fix, she became really rude, rushed and then didn't massage hands or ultimately fix her mistake. It was my birthday, and my regular nail place was closed because it was a Sunday (and I forgot to make an appointment), but I wanted a pedicure and manicure. I read other reviews and decided to try this place out. I was a walk-in, and they took me immediately took me back for a pedicure. There are lots of stations and chairs so that was good. They spent a lot of time rubbing my feet/lower legs, which was nice. It wasn't a great massage or anything, but it went on for quite a bit. It wasn't even 5 minutes in, though, and she tried to sell me on removing calluses for $10 more (which my feet don't have). That was the first of many attempts (off the top of my head, at least 4 attempts, which I find extremely rude...plus, if I am there for my nails, I don't want you to ask me if want my eyebrows done). Right as she was about paint my toes, another girl came over and started to file my nails to do the manicure. I had my one arm awkwardly across my body and no soak beforehand, which I didn't like either. I was not a fan of starting the manicure while I was still in the pedicure chair. I felt like all they wanted to do was get me out and get as much money out of me as possible. The work was average. Not good enough for me to sit through all the upselling. Here's the thing. I am not super picky, and I hardly ever write reviews on Yelp unless I really like a place or unless I really think there's something people should know. I would just prefer to relax when I go get my nails done, not have to worry about whether they're going to try to charge me more for something I don't want or continually asking me about buying more. Since two stars signifies "Meh. I've experienced better." I wanted to make it known that I have definitely experienced better, for even a little less, right down the street (Royal Essence). I won't be going back to Nail 2000. read more
