I usually NEVER leave reviews, especially negative reviews for small businesses, but the customer service I had today was the worst I have ever experienced. I had called twice to schedule a basic pedicure two days in a row to avoid a wait. The owner said a time and we came in early, he said there would be a 30 min wait, no problem. We left for 30 mins then came back. The wait was 2 hours. We got there at 2:30 and didn't leave for 5:30 for a basic pedicure. They also charged way more than the website said ($30 and I was charged $65) I asked for a discount for waiting 3 hours and they said $5. They were being rude at the end and not understanding at all. Really disappointed because the service is usually good. Don't recommend unless you are extremely patient and don't mind waiting hours. read more

Horrible experience! My appt was at 4:00. Waited for 45 min, then had a "tech" file down the gel from a previous set. It took 20 min for her to do 3 nails. Then was told to wait for someone else. A new tech came to do the rest of the filing. Then she stopped and I was told to wait. A third tech came over and insisted that I take off the set (that the other two girls filed down), evidently just to kill time. She did this and I was told to wait AGAIN!!! She came back and glued on tips with no nail prep at all. Finally the main guy rushed me to his chair and was aggressively grabbing my hands and acting as if he was annoyed. He had multiple people waiting and asking how long it would be. He was rude and unprofessional. He "finished" my nails in 10 min - again no prep at all! Came here after work for a pedicure . My toes look great. He did an amazing job with the shape. However; the rub down was very minimal. Just a little hot oil for 2 seconds and that was it. She also offered me something to drink while I had my nails done. The environment is clean & the technicians are seen sanitizing the areas after use. The color samples are beautifully displayed by color groups on color circles which is great for easy selection. Wendy did my pedicure which was very good. She cut my nails down, took care of any rough spots, fixed ingrown issues & her massage nearly put me to sleep. Thank you! The acrylics done by Tommy for myself and daughter were done in no time - a bit too fast. There was no real cleaning of the cuticles etc just the acrylics. Tommy seemed to get annoyed with me when I didn't like the shape he did at first which wasn't close to the picture I showed him. He so sped through our services that the two of us had to wait for my other daughter who also was getting acrylics. Hers turned out nicely - the two of us who had Tommy had sloppy jobs. I got my nails done yesterday by Tommy, and I must say that the experience was an awesome one! He is doing one on one appointments for safety reasons which is a super plus. Tommy is very thorough and he takes his time to make sure your nails are done to perfection, which is something a lot of salons don't do anymore. He keeps an electronic file of what nail polish and powder you use for future reference when you come back and he goes above and beyond for his clients. He just opened up his shop a few months ago, it's super clean and he keeps everything extremely organized. I will definitely be back to see him again, he certainly has my business!! read more

I recently moved to NoVa and was looking for a new nail place. After an extensive search I found Orchid. They were very accommodating since I had to change my appointment but they made it work. Tommy, I think is his name, did my liquid gel nails or hard gel, he was quick and precise with my nails. I relieve he is the owner so he does get pulled away for phone calls or helping other nail techs so if you want undivided attention you should use another nail tech here. They were able to get me in quickly, which I appreciated, and did a good job on my cuticles and rough heels. Then things went downhill, and the technician ripped down one side of my big toenail when doing my pedicure. It bled a lot at the time, but I thought it would go away. It took almost a week to heal up, and my toe got infected! The price for the pedicure was $38, which is pretty well priced, but what I got out of it was not worth it. It was no fun to be limping because my toe was hurting so much! Unfortunately would not recommend them because of my poor experience and resulting infection. read more
