The ladies that work there are super nice, the nail color selections are large and varied so there are tons of options, and my manicures and pedicures always look tidy and groomed. It's a smaller nail shop than others I've been to which I appreciate because they take their time to do the job well and it's a relaxed environment. I don't feel like I'm on a conveyor belt like I do with other busied nail salons. It's best to call and schedule an appointment over the phone to secure a desired time. One of the best experiences I've had in a long, long time. It was calm and quiet and totally relaxing. I got a gel mani and regular pedi and it was thorough and they really devoted time to me as a customer. Stay away from this place if you want to be treated with respect. Wish I could give no star. I live nearby and had wanted to try this place and support local small businesses. My friend, who was visiting, made an appointment for both of us. We got there 5 minutes early. There were two techs, the owner and her employee - both had a customer with them. I can't remember why but my friend said she was from out of town. I did not say I was local. We were asked to wait. While we waited 2 tween girls came in. They did not have an appointment. Both customers left and we were asked to sit down in the chairs. I wanted a mani-pedi while my friend only wanted a pedi. What followed just blew our minds. The owner, ushered the 2 tweens to a table and proceeded to work on their nails. The other nail tech sat down to work with my friend. They had me soak my feet for 25 minutes while the owner worked on 2 girls who had no appointment. After 15 minutes I pulled out my feet and said aloud I hope it's ok if I took my feet out since they were getting wrinkly. IT GETS EVEN BETTER! The owner, came over to my seat once she was done with the girls and muttered to her employee in Vietnamese, 'this lady is such a complainer' LOL. I am clearly Asian but I have been told I don't look Viet so this lady just assumed I didn't understand her. She also muttered earlier that she thought we both were out of town, meaning she didn't think we would be regular customers and thus didn't care how she treated us. I didn't speak up because I wanted to find out how much more she'd say. She continued to complain about me the entire time. She nipped a cuticle and it bled so I insisted she put something on it. The polish had a bubble so I asked her to fix it. She repeatedly muttered complaints in Viet. It was like that Seinfeld episode where Elaine went to an Asian nail salon and was worried whether they said bad things about her! It was so bad that it was almost funny. Lucky for the owner we were not in a hurry. I felt rather sorry for her that she was so clueless. I made sure she knew I am a local who lives very nearby and have plenty of friends in the hood. I also skipped the tip....and will never come back. Stay clear if you want to be treated with respect in this salon. She said she had a hard time hiring when I commented on how few techs she had there. I can imagine she has a hard time keeping employees - how does she treat her employees if she treats here customers so badly? read more

I'm so displeased. I wanted to get my nails done during vacation so I went to this spa. I asked if they did the color acrylic and they kept directing me to the nail polish and it took 5 tries to ask them before they said that they didn't do colored acrylic. So then I showed them my reference picture and just told them to go shorter. Again all they did was show me the nail polish and told me to pick so I did and then the lady told me that I could only have one nail with glitter and not like the picture. So after I finally agreed with her I told her that I wanted my nails a squared oval shape, narrow and thinner. That's not what I got. And I had to tell her that some on the nails weren't even with the others and some of them were crooked. So while she's filing and buffing and drilling she lets the drill go too fast and way too hot on my nails, she's basically buffing my skin off and there's way to much acrylic underneath my nails. And then when she starts painting my nails she put the top coat on and then painted more white on top and another top coat. After an hour and a half of working on my nails we're finally done, she put a crap ton of cuticle oil from the tips on my fingers to my elbows. I'm not joking. I paid $48 and a $6 tip. The longer I look at them the worse they look to me. read more

The worst acrylic set I've ever gotten. The manicurist rushed through the job. Completely different shapes from what I have asked. I asked for a square with rounded edges, but what I got is a completely different shape (my nails are round and thick). The shapes and polish are completely off. When I asked the manicurist to get me the color I wanted, she was rude and upset. The professionalism and disrespect are unbelievable. The manager refused to speak with me. The receptionist said "the manager can't speak English "and I have been told to call back to speak to another person later. Even though they were inconsistencies with their pricing and results I keep coming back hoping for better service. This is my last time here, will never be returning! read more

I started going here during COVID and was so impressed with how clean everything was. The technicians are so sweet and there is a relaxing vibe, plus I've had some really wonderful pedicures - my regular has lasted and still looks presentable after 3 weeks at the beach. My manicures last 2 weeks and don't peel off in a few days. I've also gotten gel mani/pedi here and was also excellent. Jenny is a nail genius and has become a good friend. We moved to Arlington 14 months ago. At this time the salon was under the previous management and called Kelli's Nails. The service I had received at Kelli's Nails was sub par. A few months later, I decided to give the salon another try as I was new to the area and this was close to my home. I am so glad that I did! The new management had come in at this point and completely transformed the shop into Happy Nails. Happy Nails is a hidden treasure in Arlington, specifically in the Westover area. Happy Nails is the best! I drive to Arlington from Alexandria just to get my nails done (SNS mani and spa pedi) here very month. The staff (I always see Jenny) is always nice and accommodating. It is clean and they have good COVID safety measures in place- masks, partitions, etc. My nails always look great and have never had any issues with chipping. I came here against my better judgment because a friend lives near by and I wanted to to treat her for her birthday. It is expensive for a place that does not even offer you water. If i pay 36 dollars for a gel manicure i would expect it to not start chipping the very next day. I had them done on Monday it is Friday now and they are absolutely disgusting. Gel manicures are generally last me 2 weeks, it hasn't even been one week and I'm already ready for another manicure. I think the nail tech may have put too much polish or something on my nails as when she put them in the UV machine a very painful shock was felt on my finger nails so much that i yelped and took my hand out in pain. Also he technicians were speaking in their language pretty loud to each other making it pretty awkward thankfully my friend was there with me. I will continue to go to mimosas in DC they are much cheaper and a better job. read more
