I am visiting for the week and needed a pedicure due to unexpectedly warm weather. Lenox is the closet to my hotel so I called after my work day was over. They are open til 8pm so the timing was perfect. I would have given them four stars just for the convenience, but their staff did a really good job. It was the basic pedicure but included light massage and a hot towel. The finish work on the polish was detailed, in that she cleared around every nail edge with polish remover so there were no little ragged edges or tiny bits of extra polish. She took her time and produced a work art out of a simple pedicure. I recommend them. read more

As my second time coming here, I am happy to say that the service and quality was ok. Unfortunately, compared to the first time the manicure wasn't great. Hence, 1 less star. Like the first visit, I had a manicure and pedicure without color; just clean. I'll have to do a little more buffing and clean the cuticle once I get home. This was my 3rd and final visit to Lenox Nails; shame on me for even returning when I knew I should go to my regular place! It was about 93 degrees and I desperately needed a pedicure, and rather than go 5 blocks away, I figured I would dash in. First, I will backtrack: 1st visit I said all I wanted was a pedicure. I got the upsell about what a deal it was to get a manicure as well. No, just a pedicure thanks. Was asked again during the pedicure if I wanted a manicure? 2nd visit I was asked the same questions, and was I interested in waxing? No, no, no (and I think I went back the second time because it was freezing and I needed to wear my flip flops in February). Earlier this week story: I have never seen the girl who did my pedicure (just below-shoulder length straight hair, no smile) who just sat down and didn't look at me, no hello, no "how's your water", no nothing. I picked up the magazines I had taken from the stack and began reading my spring 2015 issue (yes, 2015) and was at least humored by reading about who was then married to the love of their life and divorced in 2016. But I digress..... I looked up from the fascinating reading to point out a spot on top of my foot to please look out for, since I fell 4 weeks ago and don't need the scab reopening. No reply, no nod of the head. Nothing. About 5 minutes later, she mumbled something and pointed out the scab. Where was her head 5 minutes ago????? She then mumbled something about a manicure, and I thought "OMG, here we go again". No manicure, just the pedicure I said. Towards the end she mumbled something about eyebrow waxing; dear Lord, I love my nice, hard-to-book and expensive but SO worth it eyebrow friend in Boston, but NO MEANS NO. No. She forced a smile when it was time to pay, of course, and I am pissed that I accidentally gave a 25% tip (shame on me again). I'm super happy I found this place because it's close to where I live, the service is nice, and the prices are reasonable. I've gotten a gel manicure and a regular manicure and both turned out nice. The first time I went, it wasn't too busy, but the second time was packed. I didn't mind waiting a bit while my nails soaked in the acetone so the gel would come off. You could tell they were trying their best to get everyone in as quickly as possible, but while still caring to do a good job. I went at the same day and time both visits. It takes about 60-90 minutes to get a deluxe pedicure and a gel manicure for $55. The ladies are professional and friendly. I HAVE NO PINKY TOENAIL!!!! Who the heck cuts your toenails to where there is almost nothing left!!! I came in for a main/pedi I bought from Groupon. I sit in the pedicure chair and immediately before my feet have a chance to soak, they want to start doing my toenails and Shellac manicure at the SAME time. I had to hold the little water bowl while the massage chair is going, while the lady is cutting my toenails, without even asking if I wanted them cut!! WTH?!!! There's only 2 other people sitting in the salon, one of whom had to ask for Neosporin and a Band-Aid for what there lady did to her. So in less than 10 minutes they lost 3 customers. We all walked out. This place should be condemned. If I get a toe infection, I'm suing this place for everything they have, so no one else can be injured by them again. I got a Groupon for a shellac service LenoxNails and decided to check it out. However, I read the YELP reviews after I purchased it. I have to be honest, it made me very weary about going, but since I purchased it, I went. The woman I had was a much older woman but she was very sweet. They didn't have 100+ colors like some places but they had enough colors where there was something for everyone. She took her time in taking off the shellac I had on and did not charge me extra for doing that (many places charge for take off). She was slightly slower than some other manicurists I have had, but she did a stellar job. Honestly, this may be the best shellac paint job I have had because she was so meticulous with what she was doing. The manicure was great. She made sure she got every little hang nail and asked me several times if I was ok. Before I left, they gave me a great coupon to use when I come back. They stayed busy while I was there too with regulars. It's not a super fancy salon but it offers better pricing than other ones nearby. Huge waste of money. I went for a pedicure on a Saturday morning and was the only person in there...red flag. My nail tech scraped my feet so roughly that I was bleeding on my toe and on the side of my foot. She poured this weird powder (mentioned in some other reviews) on my cuts to stop the bleeding. I had to bandage my toe up to wear shoes out of the house later that day, and it hurt for a week. To add insult to injury, the polish one one of my toes chipped as soon as I got home. I walked back over to have it fixed. They were very rude about fixing it, but I insisted since my pedicure was less than 15 minutes old. Three more toes chipped over the next week. Avoid. read more

A no frills nail salon with a good selection of polish colors. Went there for a pedicure with the Groupon. I've been to all of the other nail salons in the Pentagon City area so, although I was hoping for the best, I knew immediately by the roughness of the handling that there might be problems. But I had a Groupon and decided to stick it out and take my chances--big mistake! I bled because there was too much of my toe nail trimmed off! I screamed; she knew immediately that she hurt me; she was apologetic and reached for a tissue to stop the bleeding. If there was a cut, any logical person would have reached for rubbing alcohol to disinfect. Instead she poured some type of powder thing on my toe and then brushed off the powder with the tissue. She tried to make me feel better to say she disinfected my cut (with a powdery product that I've never seen used on a cut). I'll spare you a picture of my toe, but there's dried blood stuck on the corner now--it's nasty. I'm hoping it doesn't turn into an infection. One star for the extended massage and to give credit for being apologetic and also for being responsive on the phone (easy to make an appointment). However, seriously lacking in basic skills for a relaxing pedicure. I was on edge the entire time hoping not to get hurt and then it happened. Also, I didn't see the tools used on me cleaned. To be fair, I was too shocked to be paying attention to what happened to the tools and whether they were indeed cleaned afterwards. I just hope for the sake of the person that went after me that my DNA/blood wasn't still on the nail clippers. Pay the extra $ and go elsewhere. It's not worth risking your health. read more
