I went to Divine Nail Spa to get a gel manicure. I had received a terrible manicure here before but came back asking for a different manicurist. I have had some good ones here which is why I continued to come back. Today was terrible. I had to stop her from cutting my cuticles more than once and one of my fingers is bleeding. When I showed her, she shrugged her shoulders! The rest of my nails do not look great either. Unfortunately, I have plans for the rest of the week and don't have the time to get this fixed. I've been coming here for a long time but today was terrible. I got the gel pedicure and the person didn't even clean my cuticles, didn't clean my nails, absolutely nothing. I even had to asked to remove the old nail polish correctly because my nails were still stained when they were going to start painting over them. And I also had to ask to lend me the cuticle remover to clean my own nails. Overall experience was terrible. The quality of the service has gone down a lot. read more

Ok, So changing my rating to 3 stars overall, as this salon is so hit and miss. I wanted to love it, I really did, because its the most convenient nail salon to my house, but their service is heavily dependent on who you get. If you don't want to read whole review. Here are highlights. 50/50 chance of getting someone who will not give you quality pedicure or manicure. Out of 5 visits, 3 weren't great, 2 were fantastic. Does not keep a record of whom did you nails, or color records ( not a huge deal, but my past salon did which I liked) If you have a chipped nail one day later you have to wait for the nail technician who did it to be working to fix it, other salons will fix it to take care of their customers. Other negative reviews about them up charging, and surprising them with the bill are unfortunately true. Yesterday, I was told "language barrier" but if you text for an appointment detailing what you want, walk in and confirm the price, and the front desk goes and gets your technician, what you booked for should be told to them, so this excuse makes no sense. Review from this week. I usually walk in but this time I wanted my dip removed and nails natural, so I texted to make an appointment stating what I wanted to ensure it was clear and no language barriers. When I walked in, I even confirmed my appointment and the price, which was 33 (8 for removal and 24 for basic manicure). They get my girl, she asks me about 10 times what color I want, I say "no color, all natural nails. I want my dip removed, and nails cut down as I am going rock climbing and cannot have nails and don't want color." She then brings over a regular bottle of polish, I asked is that just a topcoat " thinking it was sheer" she says yes, natural. Finally, my dip is off, she checks I want them cut, and I again say yes, and she paints them sheer (I love it!) then she starts applying a link pink, and I ask "Is this gel? I didn't want color" but she is 3 nails in, and at this point, I am just livid, and want to leave. I HATE gel, and it's not much cheaper than dip, so I never would have picked that. After this happened, the review where the 16-year-old was overcharged and swindled makes sense. When I check out, they try to charge my 55, but ended up paying 42 with cash, and still tipping (which to honest I didn't want too). Two days prior, I went for a pedicure with someone else. They didn't even clean under my toenail bed, which is just sloppy work for a place where the basic pedicure is nearly 40 bucks. I've gone to other techs here and so this is a place that if you walk in you have a 50/50 chance of getting pretty bad quality nails or good quality. Some of the techs are amazing, so if you find someone you like, write their name down, and stick with them . All in all, I would recommend another salon until they get their services more uniform in terms of practice. If you are willing to drive to Arlington - Aura Day Spa there, I went for 6 years and maybe only had 1 unpleasant experience, (it was voted best of Arlington 5 years in a row). I will likely come to Divine again, but only scheduled with people who have been vetted, but overall, they need to improve. read more

Extremely rude, racist, assault, and nasty customer service. I decided to go to this location because it came up on Google as being in my area. Trish was my nail technician. Upon getting home, I noticed that the nails looked as if they were 4 days old due to her paint job. I called the location a few hours later and spoke with the owner, Hollie, who informed me to go back in and Trish would fix it. Perfect. I go back in and Trish got extremely upset up in front of customers telling me that she would not redo them and her stopping (excessively) short of my cuticle was how it's supposed to be done. She then proceeded to grab my hand abruptly without my permission and shove it in front of numerous other technicians in the salon. WHICH IS ASSAULT. She told me that I would have to wait for someone else to finish with a customer and do mine because she refused to redo them. I informed her that I would just leave because I was extremely uncomfortable. I called the store's number as soon as I left, and spoke with Hollie (who was allegedly not at the salon at the time but taking calls remote) and explained what happened. She immediately took the technicians side and told me that I sound like I'm lying about them not looking nice because Trish is a good technician. I told her that this was one of the most horrific experiences I've ever had at a nail salon, and that I would share my experience online. She told me to go ahead. Destroyed my existing cuticles to the point of bleeding. Paid for a deep callous removal pedicure. My feet are absolutely no different. She didn't even use the rough sponge to exfoliate. Rushed through my pedicure. It was probably the least relaxing pedicure I've ever had. My feet are dry and literally have peeling skin now. As I said in my last review, I was excited to return to Divine Nail spa for SNS but unfortunately, this last appt was night and day compared to my first visit. I called in to schedule an SNS appt with Lina (easy enough) but when I arrived it was a whole different story. Although they weren't really busy, it appeared somehow they double booked Lina. I was willing to come back later but they made me feel like it wouldn't be long, and even started soaking my nails.. which was fine with me. However, after the lady took off my SNS I expected to still have an appt with Lina but they kind of passed me off to the next person without explanation. I wouldn't have stayed if I knew they were doing this but by this time, it was too far into the appt to turn back and walk out with ratty nails. I showed the nail tech what I was going for and she kind of just stared and said that what I wanted required sns base and a gel design. I was confused because I couldn't tell if she was telling me that she couldn't do it or just informing me of the process. I was only asking for almond nails with a natural color and a white design (like a modern take on French nails). I asked her again if it could be done and if not why, and she just repeated the process. I honestly didn't think I was asking for much. In the end--still confused, I gave in and just chose a basic color. She took her time and shaped my nails nicely, but did butcher my cuticles a bit. First of all, everyone was horrifically rude and mechanical. Not friendly at all and was only really interested in me if I got a treatment above $50 (which I did not and thankful for it!) I got the worst manicure known to mankind. I was getting a regular -not gel- and they pushed gel which is like $30 more. they are also the only nail salon I've ever been to (I live in NYC predominantly) that does not do designs in a regular manicure. I had to remind her to do my cuticles and she only massaged one hand. My nails are uneven despite asking her to make them even and when she told me she was done, there was paint on my fingers and she did two thing layers (of white) and its not covering my whole nail. read more

I went into this nail salon with high expectations and they did not reach my expectations. They informed me that they can do what I showed them to do. It was very simple, just lines & letters once she started to draw the lines I immediately told her to take it off because it wasn't what I wanted. After she took it off she started to mess with the shape, they weren't the best before she started the design. My nails are different shapes & it isn't slayed. Then one of the guys wanted to discriminate one of my friends saying they can't do his nails because he's gay....tf he's a paying customer. I'm 16 and told them this was my first time getting my nails done professionally. She joked that she could do a bad job and I wouldn't know. They showed me color options and I chose one. I showed her a design I wanted on my nails. When we paid, the total price $118. It turns out they only showed me gel colors, which cost extra, charged extra for two stickers that weren't even like the design I showed them and "shaping", and an "extra $5" for unspecified additional charges. We went back and asked for an itemized receipt (which they didn't initially provide), then went back and pointed out that the prices were different than listed online. They told us we "should have known" that the colors were gel colors. I called later to explain that I felt like they treated me dishonestly, because there were all these extra charges that they didn't tell me about. The woman proceeded to yell at me for 4 full minutes. I will never go back there. Be ready to wait! Took nearly 2 hours for a regular mani and pedicure. At least they don't rush you. I did try to make an appt and they said I didn't need to but yet I waited nearly 25 min to start my nails. I asked if I could get my nails done while I get my toes done to save time, but they said no we don't have enough people. That was fine- except for the fact that not sooner after a party of 4 all got what I had previously asked for. The prices are just as high as the boutique salons in Old Town. The biggest disappointment was the surprise "callous remover" fee for $7. I didn't argue it but it wasn't clear there was a charge because of the language barrier. I could not make out what the technician asked me other than "do you want" and she held up this remover gel. Why is it $7 anyways? The bottle alone barely looked like it was worth that much. That is a huge sham of an up charge and no other high class salon charges for it, so if you want to be in that category- you may want to follow suit or be very clear what you are charging people for. Also as I look at my transaction that was Venmo and not an itemized transaction- I paid $2 more than the advertised pricing. They don't take time to do things well. They rush so much. My pedicure today was not good at all. The nail polish on my big toe is not smooth and it's uneven. My feet are rough. They did a really crappy job. It's unfortunate because I talked to the owner lady once or twice and she is really nice. She did my nails once and it was great. I wish the service of her employees (or a couple do employees I encountered) was better. I am sure some of them are really hard working and do their job well but I didn't personally experience that. I'll start this off by saying my best friend and I both get gel manicures/pedicures quite often. We just moved to the area and have been looking for our "home salon." The salon at Divine Nails is beautiful, and our nail techs were sweet, but I am VERY unhappy with the quality of our gel manicures and pedicures. We got a full gel set the day before we left for vacation (last Friday) and 4 days into our trip - BOTH our fingernails chipped and my toenail polish came off completely! (***see pictures below***) I am literally posting this review at the airport since my nails look so bad at this point after only 7 days and it's embarrassing especially with how much we paid for this service! For $108 EACH I expected much better quality especially after less than a week of being done!!! The timeliness of service is also not of quality. We had an appointment scheduled for 5pm and weren't even taken back until 5:40pm and our entire service for a basic gel manicure and pedicure took 3 HOURS! I was willing to overlook this at first since our nails initially looked beautiful but they only lasted 4 days before complete disaster (on two different people and both on hands and feet!). I mentioned this to the owner and how I was unhappy with the service since I had to still pack and was stressed that our appointment took twice as long as it should have (albeit the fact that they were down 3 nail technicians I was looking for a discount off the service since my time is valuable as well and that particular day I didn't have any time to waste!) While searching the services provided by this salon on their website, I see that the charges were fraud (intentionally). The staff at Divine treat my friend like royalty. They treat me poorly. No hand massage; no hot washcloth; crabby attitude. They are expensive, too. The regular manicure is $24. I tipped $6. Still I was treated like a second class citizen. I will not go back there. My new favorite nail spot! I've had two very good pedicures here, plus an excellent gel manicure. I can't remember the exact breakdown of costs, but my last visit was a classic pedi and gel manicure and it cost $82 (if you want them to tackle your calluses it's an extra $7-8 for the pedi). It's very clean, modern, and the technicians are friendly. The first time I came here I had a great experience. A couple nights ago changed my mind. I asked for a certain service and the nail tech said I'd get the same thing with a certain scrub. What she didn't tell me was that scrub cost $40 extra. Then she spent the entire service on her phone, and nicked my toes and fingers in multiple places as she wasn't paying attention.
