There are also hundreds of colors to choose from for your nail polish. I've had different people each time and everyone's work has been excellent. They are quick while still keeping quality. Honestly I just LOVE Nini's work when it comes to my hands. Hands down she's awesome when it comes to maintaining my nails. However, with my pedicure experience yesterday I just felt that it was rushed and not even a relaxing experience. Pedicures are suppose to be relaxing and full of zen energy. And today's visit just wasn't it... My nails took about an hour. My appointment was at 11am and I arrived a few minutes early. I transitioned to the pedicure chair at 12p and by 12:20p I was paying and out the door. Really! I was offered 2 pedicure options which were 1. Basic Pedicure or 2. Spa Pedicure...both options added an additional $25 for gel polish! Smh...but when I asked what the difference was in them I was told the price difference and not the service difference... I was expecting at least 35 mins of a relaxing experience...but today's service just wasn't worth it IMO. There are no dividers between the pedicure chairs or between you and guests. No social distancing. ALSO, every single person needs to wear a mask. I was disappointed, the nails and the reviews does not apply to all of the techs at this salon. Kyky serviced me, she was really kind and accommodating but her work I am not pleased with (no smooth lines, lifting a few days afterwards, paint on the cuticles... nails and toes). Kyky also cut my cuticles and then charged me $10 (she called it a manicure)! I left paying $129 for a regular pedi and a full set... the price definitely is not equal to the results. I tried this establishment because of the reviews, but never again. $129 is fine for superb looking nails and toes. My nails look like I did them and I'm not a professional. I definitely deserve my money returned but for some reason Asian establishments feel that a terrible job can be completed, the customer left unsatisfied, and you are still expected to pay or they call the authorities instead of providing fair and just customer service. Either book with the tech who completed the nails (based on the review) or look elsewhere. The first time I came to this nail salon was when I visited my significant other after he recently moved to Arlington. I knew I was going to move to Arlington in the next few months, and wanted to find a nail salon I could trust. And...I found it! Overall, this place is just very convenient. So easy to book online in advance for your appointment, has accessible parking, and is less than a 5 minute drive away from me. I booked a gel removal and an acrylic (with extensions) manicure through call-ahead. The salon was able to reserve a spot for me within three hours and when I arrived, I was immediately sat and work began, which was great. However, I am not satisfied with the quality of the services, nor price transparency. To begin, my nails were not given a manicure (just a once over buffing for the extensions). They weren't cut, filed, and the cuticles were not pushed or trimmed. As a result, there was significant gapping between my cuticle bed and the polish and my real nails separated from the tips underneath. Secondly, I requested mid length oval shaped nails. The nail tech asked how long I wanted the extensions, clippers in hand, then immediately made the first cut without waiting to hear what I wanted, meaning I was stuck with a shorter version of what I wanted. I thought it would be okay, but then my nails were filed to a point - like an almond shape. I repeatedly had asked the tech to make them more round since oval is not supposed to point. As a result, they were over filed and significantly shorter than I wanted since that first cut was so short. Third, I noticed the acrylic was not applied evenly. Most looked okay from afar, but even my friends noticed how thick and uneven they were without me pointing it out. Fourth, the gel application was messy. The color I chose was a light pink and it looked like the nail tech was scraping the bottom of the bottle to get it going. It took 2-3 coats of pigment, and nearly every single nail has either bubbling, patchiness, streaks, or spillover all over those untrimmed cuticles. Further, the tips of multiple nails lacked gel coverage, almost like the brush ran out of gel paint at the tip of the nail. It looks like I did not have them professionally done. Lastly, there was a discrepancy in the price of the removal and manicure. I specifically booked a regular polish acrylic manicure, and was handed a book to choose colors from. I picked a plain, light pink. It turns out, they charge extra for gel - which is fair, but the book I was given *only* displayed gel options. I felt a little bamboozled, especially after I thoroughly discussed specific pricing and services both over the phone and in person. When I brought this to the cashier's attention, she simply said "Gel is better for you so we did that instead, it costs more". I'm not a confrontational person, so I paid - and tipped well - and left. I have since personally filed and fixed them the best that I could, but I will not be back to this salon. read more

Generally my visits to Cavalry have been great, but since certain technicians have left I've been reluctant to return. I decided to give it a try again in the hopes that I'd be pleasantly surprised. Instead I had a terrible experience. I called in ahead of time to make my appointment, but still waited a bit before being brought to a station. Though it was a later evening appointment, the salon was still pretty busy and clearly understaffed. My nail tech was definitely stressed and rushed through my manicure (barely cleaning up my cuticles or pushing them back, and then filed ON TOP of my natural nails that had clear coat on them. I had to tell her it was nail polish and she needed to do a more thorough job of removing it...). At that point I was worried because what nail tech can't tell the difference between clear coat and gel?! Then I was rushed to a pedicure chair, she whizzed through the whole thing, and when I asked her to "please keep my nails squared", she cut me off and argued that my nails were uneven. Okay...but I was asking about a preferred shape? She also argued that one of the colors I picked wouldn't look good on me and to choose another. I was floored. To top it all off, when I went to pay and told the person up front about what I got (a mani/pedi plus callus remover) my nail tech ran to the front of the salon to interrupt me mid sentence, as if to imply that I was going to not pay for the callus removal. All in all, this was the total opposite of a relaxed/nice experience. $62 bucks for everything was hardly worth the treatment I got, and I will absolutely not give this salon my business again. read more

The technician was so rude. Just overall not a good experience. This was supposed to be the start of a fun, self care weekend but by the end of it I was scared to even speak based on how she acted when I asked for her to correct mistakes. The second I got up to wash my hands she moved all my things to the other chair to start on her other client. Just didn't seem like she cared about me as a customer. Lastly, I have cuts on like 3 nails. Update: I called the next day to say I didn't like my nails. The lady I spoke to said that they would fix it. I get there and they were literally just going to fix the shape. I said, the issue is more than just the shape, I want them taken off and completely redone. The new lady said she didn't have time. THEN, I asked for her to just take them off all together and that's it. She said she didn't have time and that they will refund me and I can go somewhere else because the lady that did my nails originally didn't do that bad and I'm just wasting everyone's time. I was literally calm this entire time. I said ok, fine. I wanted an itemized receipt of that I was charged for so that I could make sure I was getting a full refund for the services I initially came back for them to fix. When they told me the breakdown (or their version of it) they said I paid $70 but was only going to refund me $60 since she's already wasted so much time on me. I said, that's not ok with me. I'm ok with not getting a refund for the pedicure or cuticle cutting. I'm NOT ok with not getting a refund on the nails and the design since that's what I had a problem with. She kept saying they refused to give me the full refund since they usually don't give refunds and my nails looked fine. I said, they were not up to my standard and I'm not comfortable with them. Then the lady who did my nails came up and asked if I liked the nails, I said no. She said, "well ok, let me take them off for her. " A few ladies yelled no (or something in their native language). Then the lady that did my nails said she wasted a lot of time on me and the nails don't look bad and I just want to give her a hard time. I apologized to her and said I was not trying to offend her but it's just not up to my standards. There's a little more back and forth with the ladies before they said, "this is the best we can do, we will not refund you the full $70. Our manager isn't here but you can call her about a refund later." They level of disrespect and embarrassment I felt during this situation is ridiculous. I just wanted to feel good about my nails. I can't win with these nail salons! I made an appointment and will admit to being about 12 minutes late due to traffic. When I walked in nobody greeted me. There was a woman checking out and when she was done the lady behind the counter just said "you have an appointment" I told her I did and was a bit late. She didn't ask me my name or what I was having done. She told me to pick a color and have a seat. I tried to get her opinion on what color would match the design inspo picture I brought in, but she was short with me again. I told her I wanted a pedicure as well and she just said "ok" but didn't go set up a seat as most salons do. I decided on a color and sat. She was going back and forth looking for something. I realized that she was looking for a dipping color for a woman already being helped- like literally in a chair with someone else applying her acrylics so I left! This isn't my first rodeo. You could've gotten me set up in a pedicure chair and then finished what you were doing. And instead of staring at me, the rest of you could've said hello. After such a positive first experience I am extremely disappointed. A hello goes a very long way. And the salon wasn't busy at all like it was my first time. Cavalry Nail Bar went above and beyond, and exceeded my expectations! I am quite the critic when it comes to nail salons, because I am such a stickler about each nail being the exact same shape. I called over the phone to book my appointment, the woman at the front desk picked up and booked me very quickly! When I came in they showed me the nail color book which had about 75 colors I'm guessing. If you do gel you have even more to choose from. I cannot express how good of any idea this is, compared to looking through all the colors on the ring. This is way more easier to see all the options!! They seem to offer a wide variety of beauty services from manis and pedis, hairstyling, waxing, eyelash extension, etc. Kim took care of me for my manicure and a wax. She was very nice and took the time needed to make my hands look beautiful! Kim gave me a hand massage that was way longer than I usually get for a manicure! Sooo nice since I spend so much of my day behind a computer typing! The wax that they had was chocolate smelling which oddly made the experience more tolerable. I got a half arm, but she definitely did a little bit of my upper arm without charging me for a full arm! I would definitely make this my regular spot! I loved how bright and clean it was here and truly thought Kim did an excellent job! All of the polishes are arranged along on wall and from what I could see they were mostly OPI polishes (OPI polishes are very good quality). All of the polish colors are shown in a book they provide to you and the polishes are labeled by number to match the booklet. Very easy, very organized, and saves you having to rifle through the shelves. I got a gel manicure which came put beautifully and my nail technician capped the ends of my nails with the polish, which is how you really get a long lasting polish that won't chip or peel at the tips. Very much appreciate the attention to detail. Everyone was very friendly and they serve a literally delicious ginger tea here. The salon itself has modern decor with minimalist colors and geometric shapes (mostly in the furniture and architecture). It was a very comfortable ambiance. I was immediately greeted and checked in upon arrival. The technician was ready for me when I arrived as well! I thoroughly enjoyed my manicure. Everything was sterile. The technician even wore gloves the entire time. I really enjoyed the polish books! There was no need to peruse the polish bottles on the wall and the colors were easy to see. Besides the nail salon they also have a small hair salon. There were a few patrons getting their hair done while I was at Calvary and they seemed to be pleased with their experience (and hair!) Will not be coming here again. Not only did the mail tech CUT my finger but, all of my acrylics came out with an indent because of how hard she was pressing with the drill. She also smeared the design and put clear coat over it as it was supposed to fix it. She didn't even bother the clean the acrylic that was underneath the nail because of how much she used. What bothered me the most was that I was passed around to 3 different people... I didn't notice any these things until I got to my car and started driving. What I received is not the design I showed regardless of the difference of shape. I was a customer here for over a year. I tip well and I've never had to complain about my nails. Mindy was a wonderful nail tech, this review is not about her. This is about the other staff. Every time I visit, I am never greeted. I've heard other customers be welcomed with "Hello? How are you?" But I never was. "Go sit over there," is not a greeting, which is what I typically get. While Mindy is on vacation, I desperately needed a fill-in so I went to another nail tech. Once again, the staff was cold when I walked in, and the nail tech they put me with was even colder. No "hi," nothing. She had a poor attitude the entire time. As much as nails cost now, I can't spend money in a place that struggles to make me feel like a valued customer. I recently visited Calvary through a Yelp Elite event, and as a new comer to area it was perfect timing because I was looking for a nail shop! Score! The salon itself is beautiful, very modern and clean. Up front there is a check in counter and a beauty backdrop I assume for awesome pictures after getting glammed. The nail stations are in the front with the pedi stations tucked on the side, and the hair/waxing in the back. So privacy for the things you typically want privacy for. So on to the nails! Danny (@nailsby.danny) is THE BEST!! He can literally do whatever you want! Super talented . I got an acrylic set with gel polish ($55) and I love it!! At first it was too long for me but Danny gOt me to a length I was comfortable with! I also had a chance to interact with Ivy! A true sweetheart who was clear and upfront with the prices and even sat and shared with me some things to do in the area. But my favorite part... paying (and tipping) with Venmo! I'm only giving this spot 4 stars because it feels like they only did preventative measures for their nail techs and without their customers in mind. What do I mean? The only places you will see protective barriers (outside of the mandated plastic in the foot bowls) is where the nail techs working on hands are and at the reception/cashier area. Otherwise it's everyone for themselves! The lady sitting next to me in the pedicure chair was right on me. Like....we definitely touched a lot. For which reason, I'm happy that I had on a nice and thick mask, because she felt the need to remove hers for extended periods of time AND we were not social distanced at all! Otherwise, the service was very quick. I made my appointment and was in the chair within minutes of arriving. And very shortly thereafter, my pedicurist was starting. Overall, the salon was busy, but appeared clean. I LOVED that you could pay with Venmo or Cashapp for your services and tip!! They do offer you wine and water. Just be advised that this salon is is somewhat small and busy, so you're likely to be right on someone. The great thing about this salon is that it's pretty much full service - hair, waxing, facials, massage, etc. I also liked that they had many stations and it was spacious and clean. The owner is very friendly which is a great plus as well. I got gel nails and I think my technician did a great job. They have a variety of colors to choose from which is nice as well. They offer payment via Venmo which is nice (note that CC payments incur a 2% charge here, so plan ahead). I think the salon could use a little more decor and "ambience" like other nail salons in the area but it's definitely newer so that's forgivable!
