Was in a bind. Had an elliptical machine that was way too heavy for me and my husband to move by ourselves. Every place I called said $250 to move it. I was appalled. On a hunch I tried Koves. I am so happy I did. Not only did they quote me an excellent price they came after another job, he kept texting me a timeframe, they where neat and took the machine out into my garage. We thought it would fit in the car however it did not. They drove the truck with my elliptical to where I needed to go for an outstanding price. Stefan is amazingly nice and extremely helpful! FYI, this is not a review for a move, but a review of the customer service I received WHEN I WASN'T EVEN A CUSTOMER. We were trying to do a very complicated move at the last minute during the busiest time of year. Stefan wasn't able to help us on both days we needed, but he gave us the number of Concierge Moving, a company that he's worked with in the past and recommended highly. We had given up on the possibility of having one company do the entire move, so we called Stefan back later and asked if he could just help us unload on one of the days. Stefan is one of the most respectful and responsible people I have worked with, in any industry. I am new to using movers and was looking to relocate cross country (Chicago to Los Angeles). It was an overwhelming move for me, and Stefan made it painless. He worked with me to find the most affordable moving option and because of his connections in the industry, we found a freight option that was very competitive. Stefan and his crew coordinated and handled every piece of my move - from showing up on time the day of my move out, boxing up everything that was still loose (including my mattress and box spring), loading it into their truck, taking it to the freight station, and loading it onto the cross-country freight truck. THEN, Stefan actually flew out to LA and coordinated with his local crew to pick up my stuff at the freight depot in LA, bring it to my apartment and move everything in (including reassembly of furniture). It was so simple and even though the freight company screwed Stefan with a higher end price than originally quoted, he held true to his quoted price with me and I didn't have to pay a dime over. He may be a newer company, but he is worth going with. Stefan kept me informed throughout the whole process and made sure I was comfortable with every aspect. I found him on Yelp so I feel obligated to review. This is tough. I really wanted to give a decent review because he did move my stuff and quickly within the time slot he gave me but it's now almost 4 months since my move and Stefan has not come thru as promised. The movers shattered the glass of my outdoor table and Stefan told me he ordered a replacement glass top but ended up blowing me off. Stefan responded twice to me reaching out to him saying the glass would be ready soon. He hasn't reached out in a month and doesn't respond to my texts. I ended up having to toss the table. He could've given me a a credit on the move. A few bookcases were chipped and shelves and corners cracked. Another oddity was being given someone else's furniture pieces (tiny shelve hooks, where the heck did mine go? Shelves don't sit right any longer). Lesson : you get what you pay for. I haven't moved in awhile so maybe this is normal moving bs. Not an ethical person or company. Good for, quick last minute moves. Inexpensive. Could break your stuff then blow you off. read more

I needed to move the family out of our 2BR Condo and Koev's came through in the clutch. They offered to bring a truck but I had already rented one to get a jump start on some things. On the day of the move they showed up early and got right to work. Koev's carefully wrapped things up in shrink wrap and pads and were really careful with our furniture. It ended up being a much longer day than we expected but the Koev's crew worked straight through without even stopping for lunch. Seriously guys- take a break next time! I think this is a new venture for Stefan but it was obvious he had all the proper materials and moving know-how to get a metric ton of furniture and belongings out of our 3rd floor walk up and into a jam packed truck. I was referred to Stefan/Koev's moving by my brother. For my brother to say this crew was hands down the best movers EVER, I knew I couldn't go wrong. Let's just say that Stefan did not disappoint. Even more, I had very high expectations because of my brother's referral and Stefan SURPASSED IT! I had a complicated move like most people (had to close/move/close/move) and of course it didn't go smoothly. When we realized on moving day that we weren't going to be able to close on our new home and move - Stefan found us storage and just like that we had a plan. We closed the following week and Stefan and his crew made the move from storage to our new home work into his schedule so that me and my family wouldn't have to be displaced any longer than we already to be. Did I mention that they also packed for us???? They did an amazing and fast job at that, too. So - to tally it up...they packed us, moved us out of our old place, found a last minute storage solution that didn't cost us anything, moved us into the storage unit, moved us out of the storage unit a week later, and moved us into our new home. If you are counting, that is 3 days worth of work. They worked hard, fast, and meticulously. All of our stuff was in perfect condition when they left. With any other company - the cost of service like this would have taken a 2nd mortgage to pay for. Not with Koev - he charged just under $3k for all of that (and this included some packing supplies). These guys are great. I can't say enough about their expertise and professionalism. Most of all though, they are genuinely nice guys, so you will have a very positive moving experience and perhaps a few laughs. In late may, I ended up having to call Koev's Moving because I had an extra large sofa that I needed hoisted in through the sliding glass doors of the 2nd floor of my living room. I had never done anything like this before, so I was a bit apprehensive when I called around to movers looking for help and advice. I chose Koev as one of the vendors that I would call because of their high ratings on Yelp. What immediately stood out to me about Koev above all the other highly rated movers that I called was how responsive Stefan was. The very first time I called him he answered his phone and was very personable and ready to help. On subsequent occasions that I had to call, I noticed the same thing. He almost always answered his phone or called back promptly. This is in contrast to the other vendors who were far less responsive. The second thing that stood out to me was how professional and flexible he was. We discussed the situation and after asking me a few questions he really put my mind at ease by letting me know that the job was quite doable etc. His pricing was fair and he was able to immediately schedule me. I actually had to call him to reschedule when the furniture delivery was delayed but, here again, he was quite accommodating. When Stefan came over to move the sofa he brought two other team members. They were able to hoist the sofa up and get me situated in what seemed like a very short time. I wasn't measuring the time but I would say in less than 30 minutes. What then impressed me is that without being prompted they offered to stick around to and help me get the sofa situated in the proper place and they even helped me put the sliding glass doors back on. I really did not expect this but I really appreciate it and found it to be very considerate. I would highly recommend these guys. read more

We needed movers last second for a first of the month move, and everywhere we called was booked. We called Koev's Moving and they had a cancellation so they squeezed us in. They told us between 10:30 and 2:30, depending on the appointment in front of us. Much to our pleasant surprise, they called about 8:00 and told us they'd be able to make it early! The whole move took under 5 hours, with three very polite movers plus Stefan (the owner I think?). Overall we would highly recommend. The price was a little higher than what we wanted to pay, but we felt like we got our money's worth. Next time we move, which hopefully is not for a long time, we would use them again. read more

I moved from Chicago to the 'burbs and needed a mover who would promise to respect my apartment complex's extremely tight 2 hour elevator reservation rule. Koev's Moving did. Stefan was very friendly and prompt with answering the phone (I called a couple of times with questions and he answered immediately day or night!) However, he's not the best with email (didn't answer my request for confirmation and clarification of fees). Therefore I did not get an exact price breakdown until the week of, and there were some additional unexpected fees like shrink wrap and truck fees. I wish this had been clearly stated earlier, but his rates are pretty competitive so I think it's still a good deal. I'm sure he would have disclosed this on the phone if I had asked him specifically. The team arrived early, worked extremely hard, took VERY good care of my things (wrapped each item very carefully), and were smiling the whole time. My experience was definitely satisfactory (on time and completed with nothing broken), although I really prefer to have written confirmation of everything before the date of the move. If you are able to get the written confirmation with a clear price breakdown as soon as you book with them, I'm sure your experience with them will be good. Also, this company requires you to pay the first $350 in cash. They will take a check for the remainder. read more

We just used Koev's to move from our downtown high rise to a duplex in Lakeview. Stefan was prompt to respond to your inquiry regarding scheduling a move for following week. He was easily reached by email and phone. Stefan and Momo came to move our items. They worked carefully and quickly. They wrapped furniture and other fragile items in padded blankets. Stefan made sure to tell me if he had any concerns about some of the pieces before he moved them (like a crappy IKEA Malm dresser that is now hidden in a storage closet). Stefan was extremely polite and hardworking. I've never seen two people move so quickly and carefully. None of our furniture or items were damaged, and our freshly painted walls survived the move without one ding or dent. Great customer service and outstanding rates. I contacted Stefan via the form on his website, and received an email that night. I wasn't expecting to hear from them so soon, since I filled the form out on a Sunday. I gave Stefan a call, and he was upfront with his rates - which were very competitive. Stefan and Brandon were able to make the journey out to the suburbs and move me on very short notice. On moving day, Stefan called me prior to arriving, and he and Brandon made extremely short work of my 3 bedroom's worth of stuff. From move-out to move-in, the whole process took less than 4 hours, and was considerably under the budget I had set for myself. Stefan and Brandon were extremely careful with my belongings, and even took time at the end to touch up marks on my furniture from previous moves! Stefan was also kind enough to give me some tips with washer/dryer installation, and assemble a kitchen table that I had to take apart prior to the move. I was referred MyTechnomovers from a friend and had only heard good things. However, my move did not go smoothly. It took 4 movers over 2 hours to move me out of a 1 bedroom apt in that was completely packed, and another 2 1/2 hours to move my stuff in my new 1 bedroom apt only 1 mile away in the City of Chicago. I was shocked that it took 5 1/2 hours to move 1 mile. I was originally quoted for a 3 hour move. In addition to that, one of the movers disassembling my coffee table put some of the screws in his pocket, and since he didn't complete the move with me (he left half way through to go to another job), I'm waiting for those screws to get mailed to me so I can properly put my coffee table back together. I don't consider that a completed job. Finally, a big white floor vase seems to have gone missing. It was not left in the old apt and is not currently in my new apt. Stefan assured me it wasn't left on the truck either and would check with the other movers, but it has been several days and my follow up email has gone unanswered. When I was calling around to arrange my move from Park Ridge to Storage to Chicago, he called back immediately when I left him a message. He gave me pricing over the phone and stuck to it. He even gave me a discount on my second move with him (I had to go into storage and then out of storage on a different day). He's not a big company - he's a very personable entrepreneur. He brought me used boxes and paper - and didn't charge me for them - on his personal time (he was on the way to dinner with his Mom). He also gave me recommendations on which type of boxes and tape to use and how to pack. His guys work hard and are pretty careful. They aren't uptight and will work with whatever situation you have. Everything was moved without issue - they know what they are doing. A final example of how Stefan works: he arranged storage for me and found a deal for one free month. When the operator wanted to charge me for a few days in July (even though 30 days hadn't passed since we moved in), he took care of it so that no charges were due. And, as I said above, he discounted the moving fee for the second time I used him. I like this kind of personal service and attention. He's a go-getter with good, strong guys who can move anything. First and foremost Stefan scheduled me last minute (2 weeks prior to my move) They scheduled my family and I early in the morning. They arrived promptly on time. We underestimated how long the move was going to take and how much stuff we really had.
