I requested a quote from this company. They immediately responded to my request on yelp. It was then 3 days later before they called back to do a phone walk thru to estimate the job. 3 days after the phone interview I had called and emailed to get the quote. It is now 5 days later and I still have no quote. I need to get my moved booked an can no longer wait for their response. If these guys cannot even reply to a quote in a reasonable time how can I rely on them to move my house? I'll be taking my business elsewhere. Regarding Tom's response below, besides his initial 3 day delayed call back, on Monday March 13th I called and left a vmail as well as emailed Tom. I received no response back in either a call or email. This company is unreliable and Tom is not trustworthy...thus deserving a 1 star rating. read more

I moved in prime Chicago moving season on Friday, June 1st and even though they could tell I was stressed with securing moving aide, they reassured they would do everything they could to make my move easy. They were reasonably priced, quick, careful, understanding, friendly and efficient while also being cautious of my things given they had a back-stair narrow staircase to work with in moving me into my third floor unit. We bought a groupon for them & they need to really specify what it all entails . I called several times, sent a message and they never responded. Fiancée got a hold of them finally and basically they want to charge us for the movers, truck and being an "out of service" area, which is within the 20 mile allotment listed. Total on top of the $138 Groupon, $550! Don't do it unless you want the minimum amount of services. read more

This is the best moving company I have ever used and well worth all of the "non-recommended" 5 star reviews! I called a few different companies to check availability and rates and happen to come across Move Within Movers Chicago on Google. I then checked out the link to get more information and was shocked by the design and look of their website. I immediately called and spoke with Tom who was very professional and understanding of my situation. He verbally gave me an estimate, which was a bit more than the other two but I felt very confident in moving forward with them! So, yesterday was the big move [2 bedroom, 2 bathroom condo]. I am more than happy with how everything went!!! All of the men were well dressed and spoke professionally. The most important part was that I truly felt comfortable and trustworthy of all of my personal belongings which include high end furniture and collector's pieces. I called a moving company (Simply Affordable Moving) from Craigslist. They were scheduled to be in at 9am because I had to be out by 11am. They didn't show up, return my calls or return my text messages. In desperation I called every moving company in Chicago I could get my hands on. This is the last day of June. Practically the worst day to get a mover scheduled last minute. I was lucky enough to get in touch with Move Within Movers Chicago, Inc and the owner worked his magic to make room in their schedule for me! They swooped in and saved the day. They meticulously wrapped and taped up all of my stuff. Zero damage. They were ULTRA polite, hard working, and honest. The price was fair and they cleared my entire 1-bedroom apartment (on the 3rd floor!) in no time. Mind you, this is an apartment buried at the end of a building set far back from the street. It was hot and humid but these guys kept at it like it was nothing. I went from Lakeview to the suburbs (Orland Park).Tom and Curtis were the movers names. Don't go anywhere else. Oh my gosh look no further, hire these guys!!! There are so many moving companies in Chicago, it's so hard to choose. I am so happy I went with move within! They came on time, in fact early! Met with my husband to go over what needed to be moved, and wasted no time getting started. They knew exactly how to wrap all the furniture so it wouldn't fall apart ( even flimsy ikea furniture) and kept our most prized possessions clean and damage free. I was so impressed on how they quickly got the van parked, did a run through of the entrances and started unloading the truck at the new house. My goodness these guys were super human, carrying our huge 55 inch early 2000's TV like it was nothing. They really maximized the time, I could believe how quickly they got everything in and set up. They are as good as it gets! Tom, the owner, was a pleasure to work with from initial estimate to the final walk-thru. He is a true professional who knows his trade. There are no frivolous additions to your bill. It was straight forward and easy. After taking many estimates and reading many Yelp reviews, this was a refreshing surprise. They came highly recommended from a friend .After confirming a date for the move, they even worked with me as I had to change my moving date (and they did this without hesitation, though I am sure I through a wrench into their scheduling). They were fast, efficient, easy to work with and above all professional with their work. My furniture, antiques, and artwork were treated with kid gloves as they wrapped, blanketed and moved them with care. Every effort to move my home was done carefully & with precision. Also, to make things more difficult, my move was a logistical nightmare. I had items going to storage, to my new place, some for travel, and a scarey pile of numerous heavy items for trash that I could not handle since I lived in a 3rd story walk-up. They tackled it quickly & pleasantly with a smile. I will definitely use them again. Without hesitation, I would trust them with my most precious cargo. Please, Please, I beg you not to use this moving company. It all started with a Groupon bought for me by a friend. She called them a few times before she purchased it and no one answered the phone or returned her phone call. I finally spoke with someone and found out the Groupon was really worthless. Luckily, my friend was reimbursed by Groupon. The company had the best quote, so I decided to use them for my move on May 7th. I really should have followed my intuition. They are not professional movers and they do not care about your personal belongings at all. I ended up with several broken items (2 vases that can not be replaced - one was an artifact from New Mexico and the other was a special piece from Italy). Please be aware of their .03 cent per pound rule. They were not careful at all with any of my furniture or boxes and they were in a rush to complete the job. I have more nicks and damage to my furniture than I have ever experienced and I have moved quite a few times in the last 6 years. Even an out of state move. The company is only willing to pay me $50 dollars for the broken items, so I repeat, please do not hire this company. Very unprofessional and will cause more damage than necessary to your furniture, etc. If you care about your furniture and other personal items, I would stay away from them. I DO NOT RECOMMEND Move Within Movers Chicago at all. If I could give them zero stars I would. read more
