First the good...
1) Victor Romero was fantastic! He didn't come across as sleazy. He was calm & kind. He came across as trustworthy. If I ever buy from MyNissan again, I'll ask for him exclusively.
2) The negotiations went well. I felt like the final price was fair to me and to the dealership.
3) I love the car.
For the cons...
1) "T" (initial), the finance guy. He didn't do his job well. He was talking non-stop about his 6 children. I know most of their names, their college pursuits, their personalities, etc. When I wrote the check, apparently, I wrote the wrong amount (numerically it was right, but when I wrote out the numbers, I did it wrong). It's "T's" job to catch that while I'm there. He should have looked at the check, but he didn't. So, I was contacted a few days later. I had to write another check and I mailed it the next day (I live over 2 hours away from Salinas). MyNissan did receive it. But in the meantime, "T" calls me again, after just two days and left a voicemail. He sounded very anxious. And I get it, but he should have checked the check!
2) I contacted the dealership via email about a specific car. "DG" (initials) got back to me. She was professional and came across as warm & helpful via email. But suddenly I couldn't get hold of her (it's my understanding after the fact that she had a family emergency). "DF" (initials) contacted me via email but didn't give me complete answers & wasn't exactly warm. But again, suddenly she dropped me too. Didn't answer my emails, questions, etc. Now "DG" had Victor Romero take a video of the car for me, which is how I knew of him. So, I had to reach out to him to continue the conversation. This is unprofessional, as I should only have to reach out once (initial reach out)! I shouldn't have to keep emailing people until someone gets back to me.
So ultimately, I'm not sure if I'll ever buy a car there or not. There are some good things, but the bad things are significant issues. This dealership needs to tighten some issues. If they do, then they'll be great to deal with! read more
