This was first visit to CARS and they did not disappoint. Michelle the General Manager was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and professional. I was a last-minute walk-in, 30 minutes before closing time, and she and her team made the time to take care of my car before closing. I discovered they specialize in bodywork, mechanical, restorations, classics, muscle cars, imports, etc. there's literally nothing they don't do well. I'm new to the area and I've had to tough time finding my new go-to local mechanic shop that rivals over-inflated dealer parts and labor prices. They're located in Salinas, and absolutely worth the trip. read more

I came to CARS recently after another shop told me my car needed a repair costing around $4,800. Before spending that kind of money, I wanted to understand exactly what was wrong with my car and why such an expensive repair was necessary. Unfortunately, the other shop gave me very few answers. I paid $305 for the diagnosis, but the report I received from the other shop was extremely basic. They also didn't give me a list of the parts that needed to be replaced, a breakdown of the labor costs, or much of an explanation of how they came to the conclusion that I needed a $4,800 repair. When I asked for more information, they were irritated with me and very dismissive. When I went to CARS, the experience was completely different. Michelle, the Office Manager, has been wonderful. She is extremely knowledgeable about automotive repairs, but more importantly, she knows how to explain things in a way that makes sense to someone who isn't a mechanic. She genuinely wants her customers to understand what's going on with their vehicle and feel comfortable with their options. I never felt rushed, talked down to, or pressured. At CARS, asking questions is welcomed, and you're treated with patience and respect. I'm extremely grateful to Michelle and CARS for their patience, kindness, and willingness to help. It's refreshing to find a repair shop that makes you feel like an informed and respected customer, rather than just another opportunity to make money! read more

After spending hundreds and hundreds of dollars trying to solve an ongoing check engine light issue at other shops, we finally found the team that got it right. I can't say enough good things about Michelle, Hank, and the entire team at Cars LLC. From the beginning, they genuinely cared about helping us solve the problem instead of just trying to sell us unnecessary repairs. Their honesty, experience, and commitment to customer satisfaction really set them apart. Our check engine light kept coming on because of the mass airflow sensor. I had replaced it myself at least a dozen times using a sensor purchased from a local auto parts store, but the problem always came back. Michelle's years of experience led her to suggest that the issue might be that the replacement sensor wasn't an OEM part. We took her advice, installed an OEM sensor, and the problem has been completely resolved ever since. Sometimes it's not about replacing more parts, it's about having the knowledge and experience to diagnose the problem correctly. Thank you, Michelle, Hank, and everyone at Cars LLC for going above and beyond. You've earned our trust and our business, and I highly recommend your shop to anyone looking for honest, knowledgeable mechanics who truly care about their customers. read more

The gentleman here at California automotive repair Salinas are awesome! Very friendly and welcoming and honest! Raymond (owner) is the gentleman that will help you with your estimate and get everything coordinated with your insurance, he is knowledgeable, friendly, fast acting, and all-around helpful. Hank (owner ) is the painter of the facility and he will go out of his way to explain the paint process, the dues and the don'ts and why they are doing what they do in that paint booth. He's also super knowledgeable friendly and helpful. You feel like a long time friend here. I even got to met their body work guy Daniel who was all smiles helping me coordinate the parking situation (there's several little shops in this plaza. Make sure you go all the way back to get the right guys) you can tell he is a valuable asset to the team here. This is not one of those body shops where you feel like they are too cool to talk to you, or they just expect that you know exactly what's going on with repairs because not everybody are car people. I'm happy for these two gentlemen and I hope they have, a long prosperous endeavor here in Salinas with their business because they definitely deserve it read more

I had the pleasure of taking my vehicle to repaired after a major accident. I was met by Raymond at the front desk whom examined my vehicle. After examining my vehicle he was able to talk to my insurance to ensure I wouldn't have to deal with any of the back and forth. When I picked up my vehicle Hank went through the vehicle and explained all the work that was done. Overall these two are hard working guys who do right by their customers. I don't see the logic in going to any other place: This is the place to get car repairs done and you won't be sorry. Honest as the day is long, hard working and probably the best rep in town. They are always busy and they work hard and don't waste time. Never had one complaint. Let these experts take care of one of the most important tools in your life. I do. read more

California Auto Repair - Salinas I recently had my car serviced at California Auto Repair salinas, and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. I had them replace the rear and front brakes, rotors, brake sensors, and the front driver side hub bearing. The car now runs better than it did when we first bought it. It's performing excellently, and my teenage son, who depends on this car for commuting to work and school , is thrilled with the improvements. The team at California Auto Repair exceeded my expectations in every way--they completed the work quickly and at a very affordable price. Safety and reliability were my top priorities, and California Auto Repair Salinas delivered on both fronts. Highly recommended for anyone needing quality auto service in the area! I went here to get my headlights switched to LED because one of my headlights was out and I always wanted the brighter LED bulbs so I can see better at night as my eyes get older. They were very helpful and even buffed my headlights & scrapes on the side of my bumper for $ while I waited for the headlights to get done. Now, you can hardly tell I scraped the fender! I'd highly recommend and probably will return to get the dents on my bumper fixed at some point. read more

So happy to share the amazing service received from Cars. My brother was having car trouble around Salinas while driving from San Luis to Sonoma County, and we were fortunate to find Cars.
