Steven and Richardo are the most honest repair shop front end managers you can meet. You might not like the answer, but it's the truth and the best they can possibly do. Ask for Neto!!! The price & customer service was exceptional!!! Y'all getting your car serviced is hella expensive AF! Especially in the Bay Area. As many of you know, there are only a few places I go to get my car serviced for major repairs. Oil changes? Depends if I'm in a pinch, and even for that, I have like 5 places I rotate between. Point being I'm picky. So I called around to a few of my normal places to see how much they would charge for back brakes, brake pads, whatever else goes into changing brakes. I also needed an oil change, and a smog. Now, most auto body shops don't include the smog. And most smog places only specializes in smog in the Bay Area. So my over all total I was quoted was over $615. That was not including the smog. So mind you, my total was going to be more than $750 for sure. I started looking into local places in Salinas to get a quote, because that's where My Grumpy White Man lives. I only called places that have the highest Yelp reviews. I happened to call this place, and spoke to Neto. He quoted me originally $385 for the oil change, brakes, parts, labor taxes. I almost spat out my coffee. I'm like excuse me? Repeat that number one more time?! That was almost 50% off of what I was quoted from my normal places. Since they were saving me that much money, it was worth the 1 hour drive to get my car serviced, regardless of my Grumpy White guy lives here. It's also my first time doing smog. I tend to trade the car in before I do. So they smog checked me, I got out paying only $433.49! I need to come back here, and get my car serviced again. Great shop and great people. Today, my daughter was driving around in this terrible storm that is bearing down on all of us today, 60 miles from home. Bam - suddenly a dragging sound. Apparently the other shop's technicians failed to secure the plastic shield under the engine and a puddle pulled it away from the body and suddenly it was loudly dragging along the asphalt. Help! She drove into this very nice looking shop and explained that her car was making this terrible noise. By this time, the asphalt had destroyed so much of the part that it could no longer be re-attached by the original features. They fabricated a repair that would get her back home safely so that she could have the piece replaced. They could have easily charged whatever they wanted - especially to a young professional woman that doesn't know much about cars. Their charge - $25. This is a place that values the safety of those people that they have just met......something that you can't say in general about car repair places. While driving up from LA, my car was fine until I got off the exit for my dad's in Salinas. Suddenly the car started making a weird noise and the oil light flashed when I would brake or accelerate. Luckily I was only a mile from dad's. We were in town for only 36 hours for a wedding and this was on a Friday evening, right as all shops were closing, so I was panicked. I called Gomez Auto Repair and told Stephen the situation. He said bring it in now and I will prioritize your car ASAP. I was there in 10 mins and only had a min to chat as we were racing to the rehearsal dinner. I basically had to throw him the keys as I was running in and out I was so late. Did they prioritize me? ABSOLUTELY! We were not even back to my dad's when he sent pics and called telling me there was a hole in my oil filter (must've hit a rock or something on the off-ramp) and that as long as there was no internal damage from driving a couple miles with basically no oil, he could get it all cleaned up and repaired for me by 9am the next morning. Wow! That's exactly what happened. I called at 9 the next morning as told and was told to come on down, it was ready. They were short-staffed, but still got this done for me immediately as promised. Stephen knew how desperate I was and that I had to leave the next morning. If this was a dishonest operation (like so many repair shops) they could have run up the bill saying it was God knows what and taken advantage of the situation. Not so. Instead, they went out of there way to expedite my car, were extremely kind, beyond accommodating and went out of their way to keep the costs down. Stephen even messaged me to make sure I got back home to LA okay. This is what you call exemplary customer service. Take your car here folks. I called this place on a Friday morning asking if they could fix my no start issue on my 2004 corolla. I had called many mechanics before I found Gomez Auto Repair and I'm honestly glad the other places couldn't take in my car. I received the best service here at this shop! I had to tow my car from Marina to Salinas and I wasn't able to get it in the shop until 4:20 and they still helped me even after letting me know they close at 5. I had to leave my car overnight but they fixed it and we're able to give me my car back on that Saturday at like 11am! Talk about great service!! As a women it's really hard to find a place that's trustworthy and that has great service because most places will up charge just because you're a female!! I definitely didn't get that vibe here and honestly felt like I was dropping off my car to family. Steven and Fernando helped me get everything situated and I'm so glad I found this shop. GARBAGE SHOP, GARBAGE SERVICE AND GARBAGE WORKERS/ OWNER. My mother a not well versed woman in car mechanic work, took her SUV because a valve kept making the check engine come on. I had changed it a few times before she decided to take it to a shop. She brought it here because it was a shop with decent rating that was down the street from where we lived. The worst mistake my mom made was to take it to this GARBAGE shop. They told her we put a cheap part and that if they fixed it, it would not pop again. Gave us a 90 day insurance on it. Not even 30 days later it popped again. No problem we took it back and they said they would take a look. Keep in mind they had promised to fix the issue the first time around and if not they would be liable to fix it. My mother took it in. She called a few days after the drop off to see if it was ready and the moron said they needed to open the car to check for certain things. They ended up doing the work and saying that the timing belt was shot and it needed a new one. They told my mother over the phone the timing belt was completely broken. Which if you know anything about cars you would know the car wouldn't run if that was the case. Yet we had been driving it for a week with the engine light on. My father and mother both went because at this point my father knew they were just scamming my mother. Once we got there they wanted to charge us 700$ for doing nothing. Once my father didn't back down and showed them who the real man was, they backed down like cowards. We didn't pay a thing. The whole convo took about 30 mins. After my parents got the car back they decided to drive to Napa to get a code read. In the beginning before she took the car to a shop it only showed one code for the valve. This time it gave 11 codes, 11 CODES. These cowards disconnected the hoses and left the engine open. We assume this was done as the coward owner was being put in his place. Just GARBAGE PEOPLE, SCUM OF THIS EARTH. They don't have a clue of what they are doing. They guess what the problem is and if it doesn't work, it's at the customers expense. First off, Stephen makes it seem like you've known him for decades when you make that first step inside the shop office. Super friendly dude, with great customer service. Long story short my car wasn't passing smog, and without Stephen and Adan help they saved me $1200 or more from buying a brand new catalytic converter for my 325i. They both set me up with a drive cycle follow procedures. Went back the following week to Gomez Auto Repair for the smog and it was a pass. This repair shop would have to be the best one in town for having great customer and price which I consider it to be an A+.
