This place ripped me off terribly. They tried to overcharge me for exhaust manifolds on my Jeep. So I bought them myself and had them put them on. They flipped over a smog emissions valve on my Jeep so I could not pass smog. Another mechanic found the problem with me standing right there. The valve was clearly marked and it was flipped upside down. I had passed smog before they put the manifolds on I could not pass smog when they were done. They did this to me on purpose. With an upcoming cross-country road trip last April, I couldn't find a shop to even look at my non-working auxiliary AC in my Sprinter camper van. Ok, I take that back, I did find a couple of RV shops here in Salinas to diagnose it. One told me that they ordered the part for it and will get back to me. But after following up with their shop for more than a month and still without a clear solution to my broken AC, I gave up. The other shop was honest enough to say that it's not the type of thing that they repair. No wasted time there. I called other shops in the area but once they heard that it is an auxiliary AC in a Sprinter camper van, they seem to be intimidated and no longer want to look at it. But, Ismael of Salinas Car Care is different. He was up to any challenge. The fact that he didn't hesitate to look at the problem to see if it's something he can fix or not, tells you that this guy is the real deal. To make a long story short, he was spot on with his diagnosis and fixed my AC in no time. It didn't need any part like the first RV shop I went to claimed. It only needed freon! Additionally, he was kind enough to look at other suspected leaks in my van that a Mercedes Benz shop in the area seem to have missed or ignored when I brought my van in for a full inspection in preparation for our road trip. Due to scheduling constraints, I had to get the leaks repaired in San Jose dealership. Something I would have happily requested Salinas Car Care to do given enough time. I had an appointment on Monday but I work out of town so he let me drop it off on Saturday morning so they can work on it Monday morning. He had a cancellation and I was extremely grateful his team work on my car that day and I was able to pick up my car Saturday evening. First one to review this hidden gem amongst car guys. From the beginning canvassing places to take my car for alignment. I needed a place that could work on a lowered custom car. In the past I've used cuevas, Firestone, lamar brothers but these places opted to not touch a lowered car and though I've gone to Calderon Multiple times its hit or miss who you get. Back to SCC 1) great customer service from beginning to end. Professional. 2) extremely careful with the vehicle, driver and spotter used to get he car on the rack. 3) knowledgeable, Joe didn't just take my car down and hand me a paper like most. He left it on the rack and gave his diagnosis, first time I've experienced after countless alignments. Had my truck taken there by another shop because they didn't have a alignment rack any more. Right before the guy doing the alignment was finished he stripped out one of the main bolts that hold the alignment in place. No one in town had the bolt so they ordered one. Week 1 they ordered the wrong part. Week 2 they get the bolt and I get a bill for 300 bucks for the bolts and instillation. Really. Your guy fucked up and I have to pay 300 bucks. Joke of a shop. Any good business man would realize his guy was at fault and should have fixed it for free. I will never take any vehicle there ever again read more
