Egg Rolls.

Five stars for the chicken egg roll and pork egg roll accompanied by their special sauce. This is a little hole in the wall place in Appleton, WI. I'm not judging the aesthetics whatsoever. But man, if you want crispy very fresh eggrolls, this is the place to go! I also appreciate the personal, friendly & speedy service! Next time I will have to try the crab rangoons. I have heard good things!

Wow best crab rangoon I've ever had in my life, and that includes Asian restaurants all over IL and IN. Egg rolls are amazing, food is fresh, hot & cheap. Clean eating the most delicious way humanly possible. They don't skimp on the meat; this is food like you'd make in your kitchen, for you & your friends to scarf down. Almost all the ingredients, including the complex sauces are made in house. They employ a lot of people, so hopefully at some point each day, they get turn away business. If not, then make it happen, greater Appleton area! Prices can literally not be beat. For $2 you'll go away stuffed & happy. You'll like everything they offer, give them a try!!

My Lee started her business in the late 80's and there's a reason why she's still in business --- one of the most tastiest eggrolls ever!! When you go in, there's a wall with a 4'X4' window that you place your order. They offer pork, chicken and veggie egg rolls along with chicken fried rice, spring rolls and a number of traditional east Asian desserts. For ready made food, the wait is a bit excessive and maybe it was an off day. I remember calling ahead one day because I was buying a dozen before heading to the airport. My Lee said that she had them, 7 mins later when I arrived, she said she only had 8 and that it would be another 15 mins for the others. :/ I was quite disappointed. Their desserts didn't wow me, neither did their fried rice. So, if I go there, I just go for the spring rolls and pork eggrolls.

Monster-sized portions!

Best egg rolls you will ever have. Anywhere. Period. The chicken fried rice has pieces of chicken that you can actually see and taste. Oh, and they are quite delicious indeed! Oh, and the bubble tea (i.e. boba) drinks are really good too! I had a mango boba smoothie and would totally order it again! Very good! The menu is small, but I love that they focus on things that the excel at. The prices are extremely reasonable for all of their items. And the staff... nicest that you will find anywhere! Great find in Appleton!!

Mylee's is located in what used to be, I believed, an old Battery Mart building. We were greeted immediately. A group of smiling ladies said, "Nyob Zoo" (Hmong for "Hello") as we walked in. They continued to chat while my husband and I reviewed their menu. It looked like they were eating their lunch with one of the owners. We had to speak louder to each other because they were speaking loudly. I took off a star for that. It's a place of business, I just wished they had a back room for that. The menu was simple. Fried Rice, Egg Rolls, Spring Rolls, Longcheng Bread, Tapioca Dessert, Crab Rangoons, and the Rice Platters. An older, smiling man standing behind the counter took our order. It was ready in a very timely manner; less than 10 minutes tops. The fried rice was solid although it needed a pinch of salt, I'd definitely order it again. I dislike the carrot string that they tucked in the spring rolls but I took it out as it seemed more garnish. The sauce that came with it was a sweet and sour concoction and I definitely preferred a peanut hoison option. I ate it without complaint. The star of the show is definitely the egg roll. Hmong egg rolls are plain; limited meat, cabbage, onion, with tons of mung bean thread. I've made all types of egg rolls in my day but Mylee's tastes like my Mom's. It definitely brought me back to my childhood. My taste bud has changed over the years but the taste of homemade egg rolls is something I want more of. I just wished they fried it fresh and not let it sit in a warming table. For a cheap eat and friendly service, this is the way to go. Oh, plus they are open on Sundays when most of the area's Asian restaurants are closed.

Great food and awesome service! The vegetable rolls are my favorite! There is usually a short line but it's definitely worth the wait!

Don't bother calling in your order. You will wait no matter what. The service here is a joke. Food isn't worth the hassle.

Egg rolls are pretty good. Not much selection on the menu. The friend rice isn't the greatest.

I am a first timer to Basil Cafe and wanted to share my experience. I moved here from the Bay Area…read moreand I love any type of Asian food. All my local friends recommended that I try Basil Cafe. And I did and it was the worst restaurant experience I have ever had in 40 years. I asked a friend if she had tried this cafe and she hadn't. FYI, I called around 7:15 prior to our arrival and asked what time they closed. He said come now since the kitchen closes at 8 and all orders have to be in before then. It was a Friday night, we arrived at the restaurant and were sat immediately. At 7:20ish the restaurant was still busy which we thought was a good sign. Our server greeted us with the menus and walked away. I didn't think anything of it until she returned to take our order. The initial impression was EXTREMELY uninviting and we should have left at that point. Her first words, "you know we close at 8" which we knew and were trying to hurry to be respectful of the chefs. We immediately ordered which was approximately 5 minutes after being sat. She asked if we wanted our food mild or spicy and then walked away. She did bring us water but never refilled until we were almost done with our meals. She even spilled water as she was pouring and not once to she say sorry or clean it up. Our food was delivered promptly by another server who at least had a smile. As we unfolded our napkins to eat, our server dropped the check and requested to flip it over when ready to pay. My guest looked at me in amazement and stated, "Wow we haven't even taken a bite." As we ate our meals, not once did she approach us to ask if we needed anything else or how the food was. I watched her interact with another table and she seemed to attend to their requests. I was in disbelief by the way she handled herself as a server. I just kept thinking, wow I'm actually paying money for this. We were never rude and remained polite even though her service was HORRIBLE. My guest looked at me and said, "I have lived her all my life and have never had this kind of experience at a restaurant." I was so disappointed about my choice of restaurant that I did not even finish my meal. I took maybe 2 bites and was done. Being that I barely touched my meal, most waitress would have asked if it was ok but not our server. "You want that boxed?" I was like "Yes Please" while thinking "hell yes so I can get out of here." We left within 40 minutes of our arrival so the kitchen had barely rung the closing bell. As soon as I got in my car, I immediately texted my friend who raved about your restaurant and advised "F that place, never again, I have never been treated so badly by a server." I did check the restaurant reviews after this and it spoke of the atmosphere, the friendly staff, the food, and the drinks. Well I wish I could have experienced that but no! I contemplated writing this review since it usually goes nowhere so I spoked to my friends who have visited your establishment and those who have not. The friends who have visited were very disappointed and others stated, "they would not be dining there". They all came to the same conclusion to share so if anyone is trying to figure out whether Panda Express or Basil Cafe, the Panda would be my first choice after this. If I could give you a ZERO star I would but 1 star it is since that is my only option. I will say the food was good so thanks to the chef. But I rather dine at a restaurant with crappy food with an exceptional server than the opposite. I did give her a tip even though she did not deserve it. Hopefully she shares her tips with the chef since they did all the work.

First want to start with how kind the staff are!! They are very helpful and attentive. We decided…read moreto eat in and this place is fairly small but still welcoming. It was mid day on a Tuesday so not too busy but they did have several to go orders and other tables full inside. They're extremely fast getting food out however! We got the Thai iced tea, one chicken egg roll, one pork roll, two stuffed chicken wings (one for each of us), a pork pad Thai that ended up coming out with chicken instead (happy accident), and the chicken Thai pad see ew. I have had far too many egg rolls to admit to a number but the egg rolls here are TRULY THE BEST EGGROLLS IVE EVER HAD. The pork was my favorite of the two we tried but the chicken was just as good. They're perfectly proportional of filling to crispy and flaky exterior. They also come with sweet & sour sauce or spicy and they are AMAZING to mix together. I wish I had a photo to show but we devoured these. The stuffed chicken was DELICIOUS as well. Really not sure how they do these but clearly they are known for these and they are truly the bomb! The pad Thai was accidentally made with chicken but it was still delicious! The plate is much bigger than we thought so my partner only got through maybe half of this before getting a take away box. It was tangier than we expected with no spice but after adding the spicy sauce from the eggrolls it was perfect for his taste. Finally the Thai pad see ew was a welcome dish. The noodles were thicker than I'm used to but again no harm there. It also was a huge dish so maybe half way through got a box. This place is so good. I absolutely recommend stopping for some delicious eats. We saw some pho bowls and they are huge but look amazing. I can't imagine not finding something to like about this place.
