To start off, I don't expect a lot from Oshkosh restaurants. So when I find a diamond in the rough, I have to tell someone about it! Royal kitchen was absolutely delicious! And we tried a lot, so I can give you good recommendations: - crab rangoon = 10/10 - egg drop soup =10/10 absolutely delicious and flavorful (be careful eating it though, it's super hot temperature wise) - general Tsos chicken = 10/10 super crispy and great sauce - chicken and broccoli = 10/10 great sauce and perfectly cooked broccoli - singapore chow mei fun = 10/10 I don't think they added curry powder like other places do and I really loved it. Tons of meat If you haven't had Singapore chow mei fun, you are missing out! It's a delicious noodle dish (not super spicy) with chicken, beef, shrimp and eggs cooked with thin noodles. Everything was good except I was disappointed in the hot and sour soup. Hot and sour soup wasn't that flavorful. It tasted like water with a little spice and little sour. I attempted this place two times. I judge my Chinese restaurants on egg rolls and fried rice for the most part. I find that chicken dishes are pretty standard wherever you go. The egg rolls here were not good, they are fairly small for being $1.45 for one. They lacked flavor, and I wasn't impressed. The fried rice is very weird to me. The rice is not small like what you would typically get, it doesn't even look like normal Chinese fried rice to me. It just looks like large pieces of white rice with soy sauce, some veggies, and egg. It has pretty much no flavor and it was really disappointing. But it appears that this is the style of Chinese rice in the area judging by photos from other Chinese places. WHERE IS THE GOOD FRIED RICE IN FOX VALLEY? Someone help me out. We also had General Tso's chicken, that was good. Flavorful, but pretty standard. And it's depressing next to terrible fried rice. I also tried the egg drop wonton soup, I've never seen my two favorite soups combined, and I enjoyed that. It tasted like it should. Second time: I figured maybe the Chinese is not good because it is also known as a Thai restaurant. So I gave it another shot and got chicken Pad Thai. Probably the worst Pad Thai I've ever had, it looked normal but lacked all flavor. I also received a lemon slice with it instead of a lime. Not sure if that is acceptable but I've always received a lime with Pad Thai. But such a bland dish and it shouldn't be. Noodles and Co has better. Safe to say I'm done with this place and will be searching for new Chinese restaurants. Chinese seems like a lost cause in Oshkosh especially since other yelpers are calling this place "the best in Oshkosh"... woof. I gave this place two stars because they have quick service with convenient online ordering. My mom and I were driving north from Milwaukee to Appleton, and suddenly got hungry. Whenever I'm in a new area and need to find something quickly, I look for an Asian restaurant, because I know I'll find something vegan. We blindly chose Royal Kitchen from a list on my GPS (no smartphone, hence no Yelp) and drove over. There was a sign on the door explaining there was no sushi available due to the sushi chef's "relocation." This seemed odd, but we went in anyway. I'm so glad we did! My mom had the "small" hot & sour soup, which came in a good-sized bowl. The spice was just right: flying under the radar, but with a cumulative effect that had her sinuses cleared before the end of the bowl. I had a spring roll that was actually more vegetable than dough--a rarity these days--and also not crazy greasy. And it was delicious! Then my mom got the Thai mango chicken, which she loved. I got the tofu pad Thai--no egg, no fish sauce--and it was great. A note here: Usually when I order pad Thai this way, it comes to the table very dry. All they do is take out the animal products. At Royal Kitchen I still got sauce--just vegan. That's such a pleasure. :) On top of this, the service was fast and pleasant, and the bill came to $24 (including 75 cents for tea). Looking for something a little different while at EAA AirVenture and we decided to try Chinese. This place ended up being in a small strip mall closely so we gave it a shot. They offer great lunches for $5 to $6 that are no frills but quality. I got the General Tso's and enjoyed it. If you're looking for good Chinese and you don't want Panda Express (is here even one nearby) this place is good enough, affordable enough and quiet. read more

This place is THE SHIT!! My son and I were taken here several years ago and it was great. We went this past weekend while in town and it's even better, if anything! They have the BEST rangoons I've ever had from any Chinese restaurant!! The restaurant is super clean. The staff is super friendly. The veggies are really fresh and bright. You can watch them prepare the food at the counter. The kitchen is really really clean. The food in general is to die for! I had my favorite - cashew chicken, and it was amazing! The prices are also not totally outrageous - especially for the portion sizes. My son had General Tso's. I normally don't like that dish, but he had me try it and it was fantastic!! Please don't get turned off by the fact they use cheap cups, plasticware, and serve the food on styrofoam plates when you dine in. I'm sure this helps keep their food prices down. Probably the best Chinese I've had in Oshkosh. The servings are big for the prices and the food is delicious. The lunch portions are cheap and filling and ready within 10-15 minutes, which is perfect for a quick lunch. This restaurant offers a sizable range of food from Japanese sushi to typical Chinese take-out fare and some Thai as well. I eventually had to check this place out since it is the closest sushi to my home. I ordered a 3 roll lunch special (11.95 I believe) and chicken curry (under $5) take-out to share with the wife. Food: The sushi was decent although I am generally used to slightly larger maki. I tried the salmon, spicy salmon, and eel rolls. The salmon (8/10) was typical but good, though the nori was a bit too chewy. The eel (4/10) tasted fine but was disappointing as the slice of eel was tiny and the texture and taste were overpowered by the rice and cucumber. The spicy salmon roll (10/10) was my favorite, a generous portion and as good as I've ever tasted. The chicken curry was quite good (8/10) My wife claims mine is better but for under 5 bucks I dare anyone to find better within a 30 mile radius. Service: This is a "pay first" sort of place, both for take-out or dine-in. Service was friendly but minimal. Unlimited fountain drinks mean you don't have to wait for a refill. You won't be waiting long for your food. Price: I don't eat a lot of take-out but the menu looked quite reasonable. Sushi was a bit more expensive than other places I'm familiar with but only by a dollar or two - it was balanced by the rest of the menu. Conclusion: Overall prices and service are comparable to what you might get at a fast food joint, only with much more variety and flavor. read more

Having not eaten here in a few years and reading the more recent reviews, thought we'd give it a try, despite not offering delivery, which would've been preferred. When I arrived to pick up the order about 5 minutes early, the kitchen staff were busy preparing the food as I hungrily watched with anticipation. It smelled so good. The restaurant and dining room appeared clean and had a casual atmosphere, and the lighting was a little dimmed for a nicer ambiance. The food was ready when promised and was piping hot. I returned home to a waiting family and we enjoyed the shrimp lo-mein, beef chop suey, sweet/sour chicken, and rangoons. The shrimp chow mein was mostly onions and a little disappointing. The egg rolls were okay, but I've had better at the Farmer's market. Where to begin. Ordered online. Got there and they hadn't even taken order off printer yet so we had to wait an extra 30 minutes. I ordered Cashew Chicken w/white meat, had a total of "3" YES "3" cashews in my meal. Could not tell if the chicken was in fact white meat because it was so ground up. He paid the extra $1 for mystery meat . My husband ordered General Z's chicken. From what other reviews said it was their best dish. It was NOT General it was Sesame Chicken with abit of sauce on it. Usually I can't even handle sitting by him when he orders it because it smells so spicy/strong. I ate a piece and it was not at all spicy. Since moving to Oshkosh 7 years ago, we have yet to find a true Chinese takeout that is in fact Good. Really bummed out on this, I was super excited to finally try this place. Will not be returning. Hopefully with all the new business going in Oshkosh we will get something decent. read more

Good for the money, and the best of the bunch in Oshkosh, a city overflowing with awful Chinese and Asian cuisine. While they make the same mistake as all others in the area of putting too much sugar in their sauce, it's not quite as cloying and their cooking seems superior in general. We placed a large order based on recommendations from Yelp and friends. We asked for maximum spice on the General T's chicken and it was bland, soupy and horrible . Same with the Garlic Shrimp. Could not taste any garlic at all. The fried rice had no egg and looked more like Rice a Roni. It was very bland as well. The shrimp egg roll had 0 shrimp. I actually split it open and looked. The sweet and spicy pork had fried pork and orange sauce. Typically hot and sour has pineapple, onions, peppers included. I'm so disappointed by the Chinese food in oshkosh. Went in for lunch specials. the service was terrible, we werent asked what we wanted to drink for atleast 10 minutes, waited another 10 or so for the waitress to take our order, the food came fairly quickly after that and the sushi was meh at best and my stir fry was alright, not the best but not terrible.
