PRO TIP The food is excellent and very fresh. They offer delivery themselves. Caution: I just did a comparison between delivery ($66.90 not including tip), same meal for pickup is ($47.60). That is $20!!! The food prices are much higher on their own web site. Plus a delivery fee of $5 is added. Pick up for me from now on. I expect this from EatStreet or DoorDash but not a private website with delivery offered. I still love their food! The price hike is very extreme for delivery. read more

Order takeout and got the General Tso's Chicken combo. The chicken was excellent, nicely breaded and had a delicious sauce. Not as spicy as I like but still great flavor. Better than China 1 in Oshkosh. The egg roll was also excellent but the pork fried rice was not as good as China 1. Will definitely eat here again though. read more

To start off, I don't expect a lot from Oshkosh restaurants. So when I find a diamond in the rough, I have to tell someone about it! Royal kitchen was absolutely delicious! And we tried a lot, so I can give you good recommendations: - crab rangoon = 10/10 - egg drop soup =10/10 absolutely delicious and flavorful (be careful eating it though, it's super hot temperature wise) - general Tsos chicken = 10/10 super crispy and great sauce - chicken and broccoli = 10/10 great sauce and perfectly cooked broccoli - singapore chow mei fun = 10/10 I don't think they added curry powder like other places do and I really loved it. Tons of meat If you haven't had Singapore chow mei fun, you are missing out! It's a delicious noodle dish (not super spicy) with chicken, beef, shrimp and eggs cooked with thin noodles. I recommend you also order chicken and broccoli with it and mix them together. Overall, super happy with my first experience at Royal Kitchen. The staff were also really nice. read more

I ate here several years ago and had a great dining experience so when I came back to town I decided to stop again. I was not disappointed. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for tasty Asian food. I ordered the chicken w/broccoli, crab Rangoon, fried pork dumplings, and an egg roll. Everything was delicious! The fried items were perfectly fried and crispy. The chicken was juicy, the rice was cooked well, and the broccoli had just the right firmness. read more

Fairly standard Chinese and Thai fare. We ordered our food to go, and the process was easy and the food reasonably priced. Their egg rolls are excellent. read more

Food was delicious. The vegetables were excellent and the chicken juicy. Best crab Rangoon in the valley.

This is our favorite Asian restaurant in Oshkosh! Very friendly and attentive staff, the food is fresh and tastes wonderful.

The food was not good and there was no service and the heat was off in the dining room in January. They said they were going to refund me and never did. read more

Great place for takeaway-- pretty standard Chinese food. Rangoons and dumplings are great. Service is friendly, too.

First time trying this place because I just wanted to try something new. I got the lo mein noodles, hot and sour soup, and orange chicken. Everything was good except I was disappointed in the hot and sour soup. Hot and sour soup wasn't that flavorful. It tasted like water with a little spice and little sour. The orange chicken and noodles were good they weren't as salty as the regular Chinese food, which is what I like about it. read more

Good food at a great price. Has become a family favorite. They are always friendly and welcoming.

Royal Kitchen is one of our go to take out spots. They are consistent, cordial, fast & cheep. Good Asian food is vary hard to find here in town. We have been let down numerous times trying spots. If your looking to enjoy simple Asian-Asian-Americas food and support a nice Family owned business than give them a shot. I'm confident you'll agree. We frequently order the Dragon Pheonix, Gen. Two Chicken, Moo-shoe pork, Crab rangoon, fried rice, Tom Yum soup.Enjoy read more

I attempted this place two times. I judge my Chinese restaurants on egg rolls and fried rice for the most part. I find that chicken dishes are pretty standard wherever you go. The egg rolls here were not good, they are fairly small for being $1.45 for one. They lacked flavor, and I wasn't impressed. The fried rice is very weird to me. The rice is not small like what you would typically get, it doesn't even look like normal Chinese fried rice to me. It just looks like large pieces of white rice with soy sauce, some veggies, and egg. It has pretty much no flavor and it was really disappointing. But it appears that this is the style of Chinese rice in the area judging by photos from other Chinese places. WHERE IS THE GOOD FRIED RICE IN FOX VALLEY? Someone help me out. We also had General Tso's chicken, that was good. Flavorful, but pretty standard. And it's depressing next to terrible fried rice. I also tried the egg drop wonton soup, I've never seen my two favorite soups combined, and I enjoyed that. It tasted like it should. Second time: I figured maybe the Chinese is not good because it is also known as a Thai restaurant. So I gave it another shot and got chicken Pad Thai. Probably the worst Pad Thai I've ever had, it looked normal but lacked all flavor. I also received a lemon slice with it instead of a lime. Not sure if that is acceptable but I've always received a lime with Pad Thai. But such a bland dish and it shouldn't be. Noodles and Co has better. Safe to say I'm done with this place and will be searching for new Chinese restaurants. Chinese seems like a lost cause in Oshkosh especially since other yelpers are calling this place "the best in Oshkosh"... woof. I gave this place two stars because they have quick service with convenient online ordering. Other than that, I like two of the dishes here but they are standard and you could get them anywhere else. read more

My mom and I were driving north from Milwaukee to Appleton, and suddenly got hungry. Whenever I'm in a new area and need to find something quickly, I look for an Asian restaurant, because I know I'll find something vegan. We blindly chose Royal Kitchen from a list on my GPS (no smartphone, hence no Yelp) and drove over. There was a sign on the door explaining there was no sushi available due to the sushi chef's "relocation." This seemed odd, but we went in anyway. I'm so glad we did! My mom had the "small" hot & sour soup, which came in a good-sized bowl. The spice was just right: flying under the radar, but with a cumulative effect that had her sinuses cleared before the end of the bowl. I had a spring roll that was actually more vegetable than dough--a rarity these days--and also not crazy greasy. And it was delicious! Then my mom got the Thai mango chicken, which she loved. I got the tofu pad Thai--no egg, no fish sauce--and it was great. A note here: Usually when I order pad Thai this way, it comes to the table very dry. All they do is take out the animal products. At Royal Kitchen I still got sauce--just vegan. That's such a pleasure. :) On top of this, the service was fast and pleasant, and the bill came to $24 (including 75 cents for tea). If you're headed to/through Oshkosh, make Royal Kitchen one of your stops fer sure! read more

Looking for something a little different while at EAA AirVenture and we decided to try Chinese. This place ended up being in a small strip mall closely so we gave it a shot. They offer great lunches for $5 to $6 that are no frills but quality. I got the General Tso's and enjoyed it. If you're looking for good Chinese and you don't want Panda Express (is here even one nearby) this place is good enough, affordable enough and quiet. read more

I'd eaten about half my carry-out order of sesame chicken when I cut a piece in half...and discovered that it was pink in the middle. When I called, they offered to make me another (uh, no thanks) and I had to ask for a refund and go back to the restaurant to get it credited to my debit card. No apology, no nothing, and now I get to spend the next 72 hours crossing my fingers that I don't get sick. Unacceptable. read more

We love this place! We were so excited to see that they reopened after some time away due to medical leave. We often order their crab rangoons, triple delight, or chicken with veggies. Their brown sauce is amazing. Everything always tastes fresh and the service is fast. read more

This place is THE SHIT!! My son and I were taken here several years ago and it was great. We went this past weekend while in town and it's even better, if anything! They have the BEST rangoons I've ever had from any Chinese restaurant!! The restaurant is super clean. The staff is super friendly. The veggies are really fresh and bright. You can watch them prepare the food at the counter. The kitchen is really really clean. The food in general is to die for! I had my favorite - cashew chicken, and it was amazing! The prices are also not totally outrageous - especially for the portion sizes. My son had General Tso's. I normally don't like that dish, but he had me try it and it was fantastic!! Please don't get turned off by the fact they use cheap cups, plasticware, and serve the food on styrofoam plates when you dine in. I'm sure this helps keep their food prices down. I recommend this place to everyone!! Best Chinese/Thai food anywhere in the area! read more

Probably the best Chinese I've had in Oshkosh. The servings are big for the prices and the food is delicious. The lunch portions are cheap and filling and ready within 10-15 minutes, which is perfect for a quick lunch. Definitely check this place out if you're in the area and want some good food at a good price. read more

This restaurant offers a sizable range of food from Japanese sushi to typical Chinese take-out fare and some Thai as well. I eventually had to check this place out since it is the closest sushi to my home. I ordered a 3 roll lunch special (11.95 I believe) and chicken curry (under $5) take-out to share with the wife. Food: The sushi was decent although I am generally used to slightly larger maki. I tried the salmon, spicy salmon, and eel rolls. The salmon (8/10) was typical but good, though the nori was a bit too chewy. The eel (4/10) tasted fine but was disappointing as the slice of eel was tiny and the texture and taste were overpowered by the rice and cucumber. The spicy salmon roll (10/10) was my favorite, a generous portion and as good as I've ever tasted. The chicken curry was quite good (8/10) My wife claims mine is better but for under 5 bucks I dare anyone to find better within a 30 mile radius. Service: This is a "pay first" sort of place, both for take-out or dine-in. Service was friendly but minimal. Unlimited fountain drinks mean you don't have to wait for a refill. You won't be waiting long for your food. Price: I don't eat a lot of take-out but the menu looked quite reasonable. Sushi was a bit more expensive than other places I'm familiar with but only by a dollar or two - it was balanced by the rest of the menu. Conclusion: Overall prices and service are comparable to what you might get at a fast food joint, only with much more variety and flavor. read more

Sushi was excellent. Large menu for a wide variety of sushi lovers and non-sushi lovers. Clean, quick, cute little lunch spot. I will definitely be going back. read more

Been here a couple times, always hot and fresh, great General T chicken. Hmm hmm good. Service was quick and kind.

I usually do not eat at the same place twice when working out of town ! This was the exception , I had to come back for the Shrimp Tom Yum soup as it is awesome and could be a meal by itself. The two meals I had were both good. The Crab Rangoon and egg roll was also good. The waitress was fast and friendly. read more

Best Chinese in Oshkosh, by far. The general tso chicken is AMAZING! The orange chicken is pretty good too. Portion sizes are big too.

It's better than a typical run of the mill Chinese restaurant and I would definitely recommend it. Food is always hot and ready quickly for my pick ups. Friendly staff. read more

Sushi was surprisingly good, but the curry was not as I expected it would be. If you are looking for Thai food, this is Chinese food with some curry powder added. read more

I've only eaten here once and I only had the House Fried Rice. But my baseline judgement on a Chinese place is their house fried rice. And this was really, really marginal. Probably won't be coming back here because as I said...if a staple like fried rice is lousy, I'm not too enthusiastic to try the rest of the menu read more

We ordered 5 different entrees to share among us, along with rangoons and egg rolls. Having not eaten here in a few years and reading the more recent reviews, thought we'd give it a try, despite not offering delivery, which would've been preferred. When I arrived to pick up the order about 5 minutes early, the kitchen staff were busy preparing the food as I hungrily watched with anticipation. It smelled so good. The restaurant and dining room appeared clean and had a casual atmosphere, and the lighting was a little dimmed for a nicer ambiance. The food was ready when promised and was piping hot. I returned home to a waiting family and we enjoyed the shrimp lo-mein, beef chop suey, sweet/sour chicken, and rangoons. The shrimp chow mein was mostly onions and a little disappointing. The egg rolls were okay, but I've had better at the Farmer's market. I would order from there again, especially after learning at pick up that if I had called, they would've delivered an order of this size! read more

Royal Kitchen - They got best brown sauce also! - Chinese Near Me - Oshkosh, Wisconsin

Where to begin. Ordered online. Got there and they hadn't even taken order off printer yet so we had to wait an extra 30 minutes. I ordered Cashew Chicken w/white meat, had a total of "3" YES "3" cashews in my meal. Could not tell if the chicken was in fact white meat because it was so ground up. He paid the extra $1 for mystery meat . My husband ordered General Z's chicken. From what other reviews said it was their best dish. It was NOT General it was Sesame Chicken with abit of sauce on it. Usually I can't even handle sitting by him when he orders it because it smells so spicy/strong. I ate a piece and it was not at all spicy. Since moving to Oshkosh 7 years ago, we have yet to find a true Chinese takeout that is in fact Good. Really bummed out on this, I was super excited to finally try this place. Will not be returning. Hopefully with all the new business going in Oshkosh we will get something decent. read more

Blows China 1 out of the water. Had it about 3 times. Each time has been good. But not great. It's basic American fake Chinese. Nothing authentic like the other 95% Chinese places that say they are. Prices are typical for Chinese, food quality is okay, better than some places, but not nearly as good as places like HuHot (I know, different format). Worth a try to see if you like it. I'm in no rush to eat here or order again, but won't object to go again. read more

Went in for lunch specials. the service was terrible, we werent asked what we wanted to drink for atleast 10 minutes, waited another 10 or so for the waitress to take our order, the food came fairly quickly after that and the sushi was meh at best and my stir fry was alright, not the best but not terrible. And the menus were soooo sticky, GROSS! read more

Best in town, for sure and always very good. Four stars because: 1) ALWAYS check your order before you leave!!! Every other time they "forget" something, and it's usually the rice. 2) FOR VEGETARIANS: I am and I'm not convinced their sauce is. Either way, I've found scraps of meat in my food on several occasions because they don't bother cleaning or wiping out the wok. Kinda gross.... but a common problem while dining out (especially at Asian themed restaurants). So if that kind of thing bugs you.... read more

Just ate there and instead of curry we got something that tasted like potato soup. Also the pad thai tasted like chow mien. Disgusting.

Good for the money, and the best of the bunch in Oshkosh, a city overflowing with awful Chinese and Asian cuisine. While they make the same mistake as all others in the area of putting too much sugar in their sauce, it's not quite as cloying and their cooking seems superior in general. They feature great lunch specials. We generally make this our go-to place for Chinese food, though it's far from the best I've had in other cities in the same price range. read more
