Small family run restaurant.. Consistently top quality food and good size portions. We expecially like the steamed dumplings, as good as ones I've had in Shanghai. Good Jasmine steamed rice on the side. They have a small dining room but we usually get carry out. We only live 5 minutes away and by the time we get over to their shop, the food is ready! Put in an take out order for 2 platter combos, 1 with Pork Lo Mein and another with General Tso's Chicken. Each combo platter comes with pork fried rice and an egg roll. Also ordered Crab Rangoon for an appetizer. The food was pretty delicious. The fried rice is good but lacks a bit of flavor. The Pork Lo Mein was tasty. General Tso's chicken was a hit, it has the consistency similar to orange chicken with a tangy spicy kick to it. I was impressed with the egg roll in that it had meat in it. Usually Chinese egg rolls only contain vegetable matter like cabbage and carrots. This is the first decent Chinese eatery that I've enjoyed since I've been in Wisconsin being a California native where Chinese food is authentic and usually rated highly. read more

Very impressed with the food here. This is my third time picking up from China Garden. Food has been hot and flavor is good. We like their rangoons, orange chicken, General Tso's chicken, and the scallops with vegetables. I'd recommend their orange chicken over the beef, the chicken was much crispier. We love their takeout! The Vegetable Chow Mein, Lo Mein, Chow Mee Fun, and Hunan Shrimp are yummy! The shrimp in the Hunan shrimp are large and the dish is a bit spicy. My kids love the Lo Mein! read more

I got delivery and it took twice as long as it was supposed to. I also didn't get exactly what I ordered, but I wanted to give the benefit of the doubt because hey, maybe it would still be good. Ever since the owners changed this place has gone downhill l. Not only does the service SUCK, but if you can get past the rude women that answers the phone or the grumpy women that deliver and act like you are a huge inconvenience to you, you will get a disappointing and almost flavorless meal. Tonight was the final straw when my boyfriend took a bite of my meal n ended up getting a twist tie in his mouth. After thinking about how many hands have probably touched that before it made it into my food, my apatite is gone. This place used to be a local favorite and we would go several times a month. Completely disgusted with this place. A waste of money. Ordered General Tso Chicken and Shrimp lo mein. The chicken had chicken feather in it. My husband pulled it out of his mouth. A very unassuming restaurant in a small strip mall setting. The hostess was difficult to understand at times, as she had a thick accent but that's most Chinese places right? The booth we sat in had wobbly benches and the TV was blaring some crazy Asian channel. However all that being said was only worth the loss of one star. The food was well made and tasty, as my wife and I shared chicken fried rice and General Tso's Chicken. Both were very hot and well presented. We also had our food made within 10 minutes! Disappointed and won't be returning. Let's begin by saying that this was a regular dining spot of mine to take my mom to. The owners knew her and service was not only impeccable but friendly and the food was good. This place has never has exceptional Chinese food but it was good. My last two experiences were a 180 and today was the last time we will enter the doors. The location was remodeled a few months ago... I'm guessing Oct or Nov. It seems as though ownership has changed as well. Everything about the place seems to be different. The experience: HS hostess/ server obviously is not invested in what she does. Not the biggest deal in the world unless you want decent service, also something most Chinese take outs don't really offer anyway. We ordered hot tea, a water and a dr pepper to start. Tea was loose leaf from a large box exposed to the air at all times. No longer do they offer fountain drinks, the soda came in a dented can with no offer of a glass with ice, even crazier was that the water came out in a bottle from Sam's and it was clearly marked Not Labeled for Individual and/or retail sale. They replaced the can of soda after I tried opening and the tab wouldn't open. Our appetizer, steamed dumplings, came and it was undercooked leaving a strong taste of flour. The meat was in recognizable as traditional dumpling stuffing. The dipping sauce was very good and thank goodness overrode the flavor. The Seafood delight was not flavorful as in the past and the shrimp were overcooked. At least the shrimp were a good size. My house special chow mee fun was ok but lacked in the robust taste it used to have. I hope they change things quick because it's definitely worth driving further away for Chinese food. read more

I didn't believe any of the bad reviews before I went to this restaurant... I really wished I heeded their warning. :(. I never experience such bad customer service in my life, the hostess and the waitress behave as if servicing me was an inconvenience! Really! "I'm sorry I want to eat your food and pay you". To top it all off, I caught the food refill lady picking her nose and coughing before dumping the food into the trough. While I was in the bathroom, I watched as one of the chefs after using the urinal rinse his hands with water and return back to work. We've ordered from this place for over seven years and never had any issues. This is a good place place for take out or delivery when you don't want to cook. We've always gotten our food hot and usually about half the time they tell you in About 20-30inutes. This is your typical small Chinese restaurant . The food is typical and on the better side of these types of places . This isn't going to rival pf changs but at half the cost it good and affordable. Portions are big so it easy to get two to three meals form each order. Bottom line is This place is fast, good, and dependable! read more

New owners in October/November 2014. Bit of a redesigned dining area. Mr "happy" is gone from the front desk - what a difference a smile makes. Food quality is about the same, bit of an improvement in the hot and sour soup, bit of a different flavor in the General Tso's Chicken. If you have been a long time customer, continue to give it a try. Those that have been lost because of the service the past few years, the new owners have replaced the bad employees. We have been faithful customers since it opened, several owners over the years, but still enjoy the food and the new level of service and friendliness. First tip I've left them in years. read more
