Tried to call several times, the phone never rang and hung up on me, so decided to drive there and order. I ordered the following: - Pepper Salt Shrimp - Szechuan Crispy Spicy Chicken - Hot and Sour soup Paid and was told it'd be 30 minutes. I left and came back 35 minutes later and food was not ready. In fact It was not even made. I had to wait another 20 minutes while they made the food. When they tell you, "we are making your food now", that's not a good sign. - Hot and Sour Soup - this is first Chinese restaurant that only offers one size (large) and first place that uses chicken instead of pork. As for taste, it was ok. -Pepper Salt Shrimp- should be Szechuan Shrimp. This dish does not resemble the "pepper salt shrimp" that I was expecting, disappointed. - Szechuan Crispy Spicy Chicken - be careful, some of the chicken bits had bones on them, took me by surprise. Also make sure to ask for utensils and napkins, it won't be in the bag. My beef with Chef Chan - time management! When you say the food will be ready in 30 minutes, then promise should be kept. Customers shouldn't have to wait another 25-30 minutes for the food to be made. I wasn't the only one waiting, in the parking lot, there were 5 cars waiting and few waiting inside for their food. While their food was decent, based upon having to wait almost an hour for my food, not sure if I'll make a return visit. If by chance I do, I hope by that time, things will have changed. read more

I have been ordering from Chef Chens for years. I rarely had a problem and their food is pretty tasty. But the last time I ordered from them, I ordered my usual (general Tsos) and had the woman on the phone repeat my order back to me so I knew it was accurate. When they showed up, the food was completely different than what I ordered. I called them back to ask them to correct the mistake and was told there WAS NO mistake. That I had, in fact, ordered cashew chicken. I said they were wrong and told them to ask the woman who took my order, because I specificallyhad her repeat it over the phone. She LIED TO HER BOSS and said we never asked her to repeat the order and that it was for sure cashew chicken. I couldn't believe that ANYONE in a professional setting would lie to cover up their own mistake! Needless to say, they did not fix their mistake and-needless to say- I will not be frequenting that establishment anymore. If you want your food cooked right, go somewhere else. read more

They exceeded all our expectations and I am beyond happy to find crispy Szechuan chicken on the menu: I couldn't find this dish where we lived previously. Service is excellent and take out is speedy. Oh I love Chef Chen's! They are located right by my house, so that helps, but their food is super good as well! General Tso's is up there with the best I've had. They have great dumplings as well. They are usually pretty quick, but I have noticed that wait times can be longer on an occasional Sunday night. You can eat in the restaurant, order take out, or get delivery. There was one time when the wrong food was received - ordered chicken and received shrimp. Although disappointing at the time, it was not enough to stop me from going back. This place has fantastic food but they are always SO busy. If you try calling in your order 9 times out of 10 you get a busy signal. When you finally get through to order they'll tell you it'll be ready in an hour but you better give them an hour and a half or 2 hours. Basically, double whatever time they tell you. If YOU make a mistake, you make it right. We did like ordering from Chef Chen's prior to our last experience. My daughter wanted to order Chinese for her birthday. We did order our dinner ahead of time so that we didn't have the usual long wait. It was delivered right on time but we were missing an order of egg rolls (birthday girl's favorite). When I called them to tell them that we were missing the egg rolls they told us that they were too busy to deliver them and that they will just take them off of our order. Since you got your money for our order, you no longer care about our happiness. Not okay and we will not be going back to Chef Chen's. read more

Generally speaking some good Chinese food. Really disappointed that they recently quit using whole vegetables in their shrimp fried rice and vegetable fried rice. It used to be to die for and now it is like every other Chinese shrimp fried rice or vegetable fried rice -just tiny squares of vegetables. Also make sure if you get it delivered that you have the right amount of change as several times the delivery person did not have any. Perhaps that is their way of getting a bigger tip. read more

Returned to Chef Chen's before Christmas / New Year holidays (tardy posting; sorry!) This visit we ordered Steamed Dumplings, Hot & Sour Soup (w/chicken), more Szechwan MaPo Tofu, and Home Made Green Curry Chicken. The steamed dumplings were very good; would have been excellent (IMHO) if served with black vinegar for dipping. The soup was VERY tasty; just the right balance of flavors. MaPo Tofu was excellent (again) and the green curry chicken was a very pleasant surprise (usually when we have green curry, it's Thai.) This dish was also very flavorful. Again, portions were outstanding value for the money... NOTE - business is mainly take-out based but there are a few tables if you want to eat in but it's not a "traditional" restaurant. read more

I've gone here several times and I've never had anything bad. Their sesame chicken is incredible and you get way more than even I can eat. Their chicken lo mein is incredible. BBQ chicken with fried rice was really good, not as good as the sesame chicken or chicken lo mein, but it's pretty good. Staff is nice and friendly.
