tables and chairs in a restaurant

Gone is the buffet and middle wall. This was a great place for quality buffet food. It wasn't huge but the food was hot and tasty. The owner has remodeled and the place looks great. I think they got rid of the buffet because it wasn't very profitable. That is too bad because I liked the variety. Should have maybe thought about raising prices. The menu is the same as before which is very large and might need to be revamped in order to go with the new remodel. I had hot and spicy shrimp lunch special and it was a bit disappointing. It was heat hot and came quickly but was not very spicy. The portion was good and the iced tea was great. I was a bit put off that even though I was seated before two more customers walked in, their order was taken as a to go order before mine was. I think if the get more authentic Chinese dishes they can do great in that location. People's taste have developed more than 30 years ago.

Salt & Pepper Shrimp with no shells

Our family stopped in on Saturday night for dinner. There was a total of 7 of us. This is not your typical Chinese take out restaurant. You can actually sit down, order your meal and have it come fresh to your table. There was only one waitress tending to all the tables, a total of 3 including ours. This is where I docked a star, service. As I mention before, there's only one person waiting on us. The food came out at different times and the table that was seated after us, got their food first. The also don't have any plastic cups for the kids so we had to keep an eye on our 18 month old to not drop his glass cup. The food was good. A lot better than most places in Green Bay. I ordered the Salt & Pepper shrimp and really enjoyed it. My husband also enjoyed his dish, which was the beef and scallops stir fry. However, the prices of these dishes are much more expensive than the typical Chinese take out. My dish was almost $15. Overall, we enjoyed our trip. It would probably be once in awhile that we go. Given that it can be so expensive.

We had decided ahead of time what to order. While there are tables, they are bare -- no condiments, no napkin dispenser, no hot sauce, nothing. There is also no water service -- you have to buy bottled water or soda, which we declined to do. I was ordering Mu Shi Pork as an appetizer to be shared, when I was informed that the restaurant didn't make pancakes! They just put the food on a plate with rice. Pretty hard to slather on hoisin sauce and eat it with our fingers. The lady ordered 3 egg rolls instead. When the food came, the egg rolls were the size of my thumb -- 2 bites -- for $1.49 each. Very little taste. I ordered Szechuan Beef, $10.99, according to the website menu. It looked and tasted good, but had very little hot in it. The portion was small compared to every other Chinese restaurant outside Green Bay that I've been in. The fried rice came in a bowl the size of a coffee cup. My son ordered Szechuan Chicken, $9.99. He said the chicken was rubbery with not much flavor, and a similar portion size. His wife ordered Lo Mein and ate it all. $8.99 We weren't given an itemized receipt, just a total of $49.17, with a $1 "convenience fee" for using a credit card. Something doesn't add up, as $4.50 + $11 + 10 + $9 = $34.50. Apparently, the online menu prices are no longer valid, so don't believe them and expect to get an inexpensive meal. We spent $60 with tax and tip, and all left a little hungry. Hardly anything went right for an eat-in dinner, hence 2 stars. Would have been one star, but the food tasted OK.
