This place has some great music, booze and atmosphere. I have gone a couple times and ran into friends that play here weekly. TIP: Don't wear a hat. (they will make you donate it to the chandelier) Great cover songs and originals. The location is quiet and beautiful. read more

Mulligan's on the Blue is AMAZING! The service is ALWAYS friendly and fun to joke around with while ordering drinks. The bartenders are even more fun to talk to. My dad and I come in here all the time and I HAVE YET TO FIND A BETTER BAR. Period. On quiet nights (Monday-Thursday) Mulligan's is nothing too special but on Friday, Saturday, and surprisingly Sunday, Mulligans is always the spot to be. The live music is unbelievable and always gets people up and dancing. Their food is also wonderful. The late night menu has killer ahi, ribs, and fish and chips. I do not have a single complaint about this place. It is THE BEST BAR I have every been to. When leaving this place, I always get a sad feeling and question whether I really have to go. My parents live on Maui and I purchased a gift certificate for them for Xmas this past year because they love this Irish pub. One of the best places to grab a drink after a long day or a chill place to grab a drink to end a good one. Food is served until midnight! You can get chips and dip, machos, chicken tenders and bar food. You can either sit inside or out, depending how big your party is. Prices are comparable so you can enjoy a few without going for broke. I enjoy a good chandy-beer and Sprite duo, or drafts for $5. The bartenders are great, especially for guests who tend to split checks. Guilty on some occasions. I wanted to order a blended margarita with a hint Iilikoi, which they didn't have. But, they suggested some other drink that was just as perfect. It's Maui, so best believe this place cuts you off at 1:30. Maui law, so that's okay! We checked out Mulligan's On the Blue on Halloween since we heard an advertisement on the radio saying there would be a big party and we didn't want to make the trek to Lahaina. We decided to go a bit early and get some food before the festivities began. We choose to sit at the bar and the bartenders were very friendly and attentive. I ordered a hamburger with avocado --- it was a decent burger with great buns - the $2 extra for the avocado was totally worth it. The boyfriend ordered the fish & chips which came with an amazing tarter sauce. It also came with so.many.fries. As far as drinks, it's what you'd expect from a bar/pub, but just want to mention that they pour Guinness (as they should) and they do it the RIGHT way! When you think of having a tropical destination wedding on the beautiful island of Maui, you first think for a reception at an Irish Pub, right? That's what we did and it was amazing. In the beautiful area of Wailea, Mulligans, high on the hillside cliffs, over looks a golf course towards the ocean with an amazing view. We originally were hoping to have our reception at a more tradition setting, such as one of the nice beachside resorts in the area, but after getting the sticker shock, we headed towards the hills! While planning our wedding, the manager couldn't have been more accommodating. We customized our menu within our budget. The food was amazing and expertly presented. What a wonderful experience for a wedding rehersal appetizer party! We worked with Julie before we got to the island and our party went off without a hitch! Everyone was super nice, helpful, and amazing! Our guests loved the view, the service, and the food. I have to say that they are so flexible, the staff at Mulligan's made it very easy to enjoy ourselves. Can't believe it has taken me this long to post this review, but check out this space if you want a casual, no issue, fun, laid back, good food and drink, space for your rehersal dinner or appetizer party. We went there earlier to check out the space and drop off our decorations. We had absolutely NO issues and it was the easiest part of planning our destination wedding. If you have a party of 40+ rent out the front lanai area...the sunset is amazing, and we all had such an amazing time celebrating together. This place was fabulous! While I didn't have the normal, everyday menu, my brother had his wedding receptiuon here and they did an oustanding job. We started with firecracker and shrimp skewers, which included grilled pineapple and a to-die-for thai chili sauce! We also got spinach and macademia nut salad with a great dressing! No complaints what-so-ever with the apps. For main courses, we had choices between a beef tenderloin, chicken, or fish. Since we were a group, we all got everything and sampled with each other. It was all amazingly delicious! I personally had the fish with a veggie medley and risotto cake...fabulous! The tenderloins were cooked perfectly with just right asparagus and mashed potatoes on the side. The chicken dish was also great. I always worry restaurants tend to dry out their chicken, but not Mulligan's. The cocktail menu had a huge variety and everything was delicious! The manager, Christian, was attentive and as sweet as could be. We had no complaints but he was constantly there checking on us and making sure everything was in order. While we didn't have the regular menu, based on what I experienced this night, I would highly recommend it for food and drinks! The management team is amazing and the food was outstanding. Plus the view of the ocean is a must see! I can't find a single fault in this place. Make sure to put it on your list when you come to visit! read more

This place gets a bad rap sometimes. I give it five stars because if you're going there for barfood., It's arguably some of the best stuff on the island. The service is great. The people are always friendly. The burgers I believe are the best in the Hawaiian island chain. Their french fries are always good. Plus, their happy hour prices cannot be beat. Came early had breakfast - one server and one bartender. 5 of us. Ordered drinks and food for the game. They had to call in help as the place got really busy. Game just started the 4th. Our waiter says 'do you want to see the bill before ordering more? We said no. Ordered another beer. Drinks were very light on the alcohol. Took my dip before I was finished with it and randomly brought us our check. $280.00 not $500 - we are on a $400 for 18 hole golf course...I thought the experience was going to be good and thought it started good but why do you take my food before I'm done act like we can't pay or bill and randomly bring our check without asking if we are done? This review is based on the bar only. We went here after our wedding as an "after-party" spot. They have a pretty big bar and outside patio area, but we were not told that a wedding had rented out the main dining area until 11pm, so we had to stay on the outside patio area until that wedding finished. The bar doesn't have AC, so it was kind of musty and really warm inside the bar area. It was cool on the patio area, but there were bugs that kept flying around, and they would land in your drink. The bathrooms were gross and smelt like urine. Overall, if you are looking for a place to party after your wedding is over, this place has a lot of space and a big bar. Plus, the drinks are pretty inexpensive (compared to the hotel bars), and it is close to the Wailea resorts (the Kealani was like 1 minute away). I think they are the only place that is open past 10pm in Wailea! lol. read more

Absolutely wonderful. Their manager, Dave, was extremely professional and accommodating to myself and our family during the planning and executing of our wedding reception on Maui. My husband and I knew we wanted to do a Maui wedding tailored to our style, and I read somewhere online that Mulligan's did receptions. I though "perfect!" because I had previously been a bartender at an Irish pub and I knew what kind of atmosphere I would be getting myself and those around my that appreciated a good party were getting into. Dave was an excellent listener for our requests and contributed his ideas along with a sense of humor. We truly "clicked" with him and I think that was especially helpful with our experience. He is a true professional and knows what he is doing with the restaurant/pub/reception planning business. We were originally communicating through someone on the mainland via telephone and e-mail and met with Dave in person upon our arrival on Maui. I regrettably don't remember her name off the top of my head but she was sweet and so helpful as well. The ball was never dropped. When it came down to the actual reception, he was always available and the staff appeared to be enjoying their time as well, which is important to me. I always look out for how the staff behaves and treats their guests. Our server was smiling and attentive especially to the bride and groom. Our drinks were flowing freely and we even got to enjoy a game of pool during the reception. It was however, extremely windy that night and a lot of our decor was unable to be put up and it was very cold. We all dealt with it with a sense of humor and were moved inside half-way through the reception with no problem. Overall it was a 5-star experience. If you like to party and want to mix an Irish pub feel into your reception I highly recommend. We had a formal plated, sit down dinner for our family and friends "traditional" style, and then afterwards we were roaming freely throughout the bar. The people who did not want to hang out and "party" at the bar were able to go back to their hotel while we cut loose. I am also friends with them on Facebook and they have great weekly specials, live music, buffets, and dinner shows. Also, I wanted to say thank you to the owner, Mike, and the entire bartending and serving staff at Mulligan's. When you're staying on a beautiful island known for it's fresh fish and tropical themed restaurants, sometimes you just want to head to a nice pub and have a pint and watch some sports. I mean, how much time can you spend laying on the beach sipping pina coladas? Mulligan's is a great laid back Irish pub with authentic Irish food, and great pints of beer. We saw Gail Stevens, a local singer/guitar player while we were there and really enjoyed the show. The best thing about Mulligan's is that they have the football package and open at 7am on Sundays so you can watch the games! read more

We live here on Maui and have dined at Mulligans on several occasions. Although the food has been marginal at best, we have returned to hear multiple performers /musicians. Nothing outstanding about this place but nothing dragging it down either. The location is pretty close to several resort properties and parking is pretty easy. The layout is fine with both indoor and outdoor seating options. There is a main bar that seemed to be filled with "regulars" who were friendly. It feels a bit run down but I was not quite able to tell if that is what they are going for as it pushes the Irish Pub theme very hard. Staff was great and helpful. Had the fish and chips and it was a generous and tasty serving. They had a Irish band playing who were very talented but they were a bit loud. Overall would have not problem going back here but there are many options on Wailea and I may explore a few new places first. read more

I'm really puzzled why this place doesn't have better reviews. We have been multiple times on multiple trips to Maui, and have never been disappointed. The bartenders are awesome, and the drinks are stellar. The food is good and reasonably priced. We particularly like the Reuben and the fish and chips for dinner, though the shepherd's pie and burgers are good too. Their happy hour is awesome, and I really like getting the quesadilla then. It's a great place to go hang out any time. The free entertainment is a nice add - in particular the magician, Brenton Keith, that they have on Tuesday (it's usually Tuesday, but double check their calendar) nights. It's a show appropriate for all ages and adults will enjoy it as much as the kids. On second hand, don't go. That way I don't have to worry about finding a seat at the bar the next time I go. read more

The view was fantastic especially during sunset and the live band was talented. Waiter was very hard working constantly cracking jokes and making us feel very welcome. My meal was good however some of the meals seemed a bit lack luster. With no flavor to the shepherds pie and the corn beef was a bit below average (fat was not trimmed at all making it hard to eat). My husband and I had our wedding reception here May 14, 2015. Julie, the event coordinator, was amazingly helpful and wonderful to deal with throughout the entire process. She made things extremely easy and pleasurable which is very welcome when you're planning a destination wedding. We had our reception on the front patio and it was wonderful to watch the sunset. We had the steak with lobster tail, a chicken dish and a fish special everybody loved the food very very much. The potato taco appetizer was awesome! The drinks were poured well and were served quickly. We booked a DJ for a few hours through Mulligan's his name was Mike and he was awesome! The music was great and everybody including other guests in the restaurant were up and dancing with us. My friends and I dined at mulligans on a Wednesday night after reading some decent reviews and deciding to give it a try. When we arrived there was some sort of private event going on in the main dining area with a live band so we had to sit at the bar, which was fine with us. The bartender who served us was very nice and efficient, he gave good recommendations and was attentive. Probably the thing that shocked me most of all was the prices- they are actually reasonable! Honestly after getting bent over by every restaurant in Maui the prices on food and drinks were a breath of fresh air. I had the Asian BBQ pork ribs on the bartenders recommendation and a Maui wheat beer. The beer was ice cold and delicious, and unfortunately so were the pork ribs. I was too hungry to send it back but honestly the ribs were colder than room temperature. We wondered if we got the leftovers from the private party next to us, quite honestly. The live band was separated from the bar area by a curtain, though if I had my way it would have been double-paned soundproof glass. What the band lacked in musical talent they made up for in loudness- I had to lean in to the bartender a foot from me to hear him. As if that wasn't bad enough, when the party finally let out a few of the older patrons decided to sing their own rendition of "Danny boy" loudly so I could recreate the experience I already didn't enjoy, but with even less musical ability. Overall, however, I was impressed with the food and the value of this restaurant- I'm aware this isn't the typical dining experience there so I'm being a littler nicer with my rating. However, you can't serve cold meat to me and expect 5 stars. Bottom line: good prices, good food, good service- but beware of the night you go, plan ahead lest you suffer the same fate as us. read more

Went there for the " famous Willie K" though the man can sing, the fact that he flipped off patrons in the audience, made statements that " he didn't NEED to be there" and said if you were from the Andaz or 4 Seasons this might not be your place,....on top of a terrible surf and turf of shoe leather and packaged sauces made what could of been a pretty enjoyable night just prove that the man needed to take some time off. he actually made a statement to the drummer not needing the $5 he would make from the show. The outside setting was very peaceful and the live Hawaiian music was a delight. We ordered the 10oz steak which was very good when it came. Though the food tasted delicious it took 45 min to cook and there weren't that many people. Our wine was served warm, not chilled. For these reasons I wouldn't eat there again. read more

I took my elder parents here for the early bird special on New Year's Eve. We were seated and immediately a guitar player started playing music so loudly that my ears were ringing. I noticed other tables were plugging their ears too so we asked to waitress if the amp could be turned down and nothing changed. Another older patron at a different table asked if the music could be turned down and I was horrified by how this "musician" treated this woman and then yelled at her to go sit outside. We asked to sit outside because it was completely empty but they told us no. We ask if we can sit at the empty bar instead and after fighting with us about it they finally allowed us to sit at the bar only if "we didn't leave any spaces in between us" (of course we wouldn't leave a spaces..) even thought we were the only people there the whole time. So we finally get away from the blasting music and rude musician and then my dad asked the bar tender if there was anything else to order because he didn't know I already set up the special and the bar tender rudely retorted "you get what you paid for." I was so embarrassed but trying to salvage the night we so we stayed. The "3 course meal" was disappointingly small but we were ok with that. I messaged Mulligans the next day (today) about it and the response I got back was incredibly rude. They told me that there was "no other place in maui you could get a 3 course me for 50$." I always wondered why every place in maui is packed except this one and now I know why. So many wonderful places to go to in Maui don't waste your time here. read more

Fish and chip appetizer for $7 was decent-2 pieces of mahi mahi and a load of fries, hot and crisp. Looks like you only get one more piece and perhaps less fries with the full portion!! Potato tacos interesting but fun taste. Mojitos ok but a ton of mint. Beer cold and a decent selection. Would not recommend the nachos - cheese was basically velveeta sauce and very salty. The first day in Wailea, we were looking for a low key place to have a quick bite and a beer. I was there with my wife and her parents. As we were coming down the street from our hotel (Hotel Wailea), we saw Mulligan's on our right and decided to give it a try. We were seated outside overlooking a very nice view of the sunset. The wait staff were very nice, although the time to get drinks and food were on the longer end. Typical bar food, but they did a good job of it.
