Best crawfish in jxn metro area. Consistency is key. They're always flavorful and just the right amount of heat. Not only is their crawfish good, but the shrimp and crab are my fave! So I've eaten Crawfish as far south as Venice La and as far north as South Carolina. Mudbugs is as close to if not as good as south LA mudbugs. Service fast, friendly, and polite. Overall, this is one of my favorite places to eat crawfish every spring/summer. They have great spice, taste, size, and texture. The prices are reasonable too for live or boiled. In addition to crawfish, I've also tried their boiled shrimp which I would also recommend even if they are more expensive per pound. They also have a nice outside seating area. Mudbugs has the potential to be one of the best bars in gulf shores but sadly falls extremely short. Apart from being one of the dirtiest bars in Gulf shores, they also pair that with the WORST staff this side of the Mississippi. In our group of 4 people, they lost 2 of our cards as well as the bartenders appearing to be on drugs the entire time. There were multiple instances of the bartenders yelling at our party when we were simply trying to close our tabs to leave. One of the bartenders ripped the hat off of my friends head and threw it to the ground. Very unfriendly service. It's a shame to see how this once great bar has now fallen. I will NEVER return to this bar and I suggest you never give it a chance until management has changed. read more

And being a restaurant wouldn't you think they would pick out the dead crawfish before boiling. I found at least 10 in the three pounds i bought. My wife and I usually visit the Downtown Brandon location, but today we went to the Old Fannin location closer to our home. It pains me to write my favorite crawfish spot such a horrible review. We ordered crawfish, shrimp, corn and sausage. Everything was barely luke warm. I could tell by how mushy the crawfish were that they were old and had been reheated (maybe from the previous night). So many of the crawfish heads were just mush and had no tails attached. The shrimp were tough and hard to peel (also old). The corn was also cool and tough. I live less than a mile from the restaurant, so the travel time was not a factor in the temperature of the food. I was so disappointed. Before eating my food, I posted a pic of it on social media. I had a friend to comment that they had a similar experience the previous night. Never have I experienced such poor quality from Mudbugs. I dont know what is going on, but they need to GET IT TOGETHER!! This was a disgrace to crawfish! I would give it 0 stars if I could. read more

Mudbugs has some great tasting crawfish. I went there this past Saturday and had to wait a long time in order to get a table for our group of friends before 6:45pm. I don't know if it's because it may be early in the season, but the price for the crawfish and shrimp seem to be pretty steep. The atmosphere was pretty nice for conversation with friends over crawfish until the entertainment began. This guy was awesome and could play guitar like nobody's business but the speakers were so loud that you couldn't even talk to someone next to you without yelling.
