Curios, I took a stroll, and chatted with one of the employees. The seasoned water smelled wonderful, and his southern hospitality won me over, so I decided that I will be doing crawfish for dinner after all. At just $6.99 per pound, and with a credit card machine, this definitely beats the local competition. It took about 20 minutes for the crawfish to boil, and I happily returned back to the hotel with my bag of three pounds of crawfish, two potatoes, and two corn. It took me a solid hour to eat them, the experience almost meditative because of the repetitive motion, and concentration required, and worth every penny. I started with the gumbo and the oysters were served while I was about halfway through the bowl. The gumbo was pretty good and I would definitely get it again. The oysters were super hot and I actually had to wait a few moments before starting in on them. The chargrilled oysters were very good and if I had not had them in New Orleans I would have been most pleased. Of course, these were not as good as Felix's. But if you are staying at the Hilton, you absolutely need to walk over to Drago's. Check the portrait of Drago in the entryway ( he passed a few years ago).
