Let me start by saying that I do not like to down a locally owned place but I have to be honest. we chose this place because it was all that was open on a Sunday afternoon at 3:30 and we were passing through. Our server Grace was a sweetheart. We had the BimBam shrimp appetizer. It was the best thing we ate. Generous amount of shrimp that taste good with a tasty sauce. The starter salads were decent. Homemade ranch was really good. Mike had the steak tips which someone has falsely told Grace that they are tenderloin trimmings. They are in fact tough sirloin cut into random pieces that were not cooked medium rare but rather medium well to well done. The potato was freshly baked but we aren't fans of foil wrapped baked potatoes as the skin is basically boiled. Props for the freshly grated cheese. I had the etoufee. The crawfish did not taste muddy but that is the only positive thing I can say about it. The flavor was mediocre at best and the trinity was still crunchy. A decent amount of crawfish tails. The glass doors as you walk in need to be cleaned and the rug as you enter looks like it could use a good shaking out. I had to use the light on my phone to read the dark gray menu. I wish we could like this place better but it's just ok. Our raccoons said they rate the etoufee and leftover steak tips a 5 but since they didn't pay $66 before tip they didn't get a say so. read more

Absolutely have a fantastic experience every time we eat at Bill's Creole and Seafood. I've brought numerous family members here, and Bill's staff never fail to show out. My only complaint is that it can get a bit noisy -- too many people having too much fun, I guess! My filet is always cooked perfectly, and the potato is cooked through and delicious. My kids love the pasta, and my wife enjoys the gigantic ribeye that lasts her two days. I'll return to Bill's over and over and over again! read more

Wow. Talk about a nose dive. This place went from fantastic to "will not return". Got a ribeye to the tune of $43 + tax. It was tender and cooked as ordered, but more than a third of the steak was fat (see photo). It's obvious the huge chunk of fat was left on the steak to either make it look bigger on the plate or to satisfy the "16-18 oz" description on the receipt (see photo). Please note, steak size is not indicated on the menu, only "market price". Mentioned this to the staff. They said other customers had voiced similar concerns recently. Also said they'd mention it to "him". Nothing happened. They lost a customer. For my money, Twin Rivers next time. Don't waste your time here. read more

So I've been hearing about the Ribeyes at Bill's Creole and Steak Depot and I know my friend loves a good steak. So I told her we needed to check this place out. Arrived around 5:30 and was sat immediately. It's rustic in there but it's nice and roomy. Our server was at the table within seconds. We told her it was our first time there so she took our drink orders and when she brought them back, we placed our order. She kept our drinks filled and kept us informed on how our food was coming. She really was nice, as we asked her questions about the now defunct Flora High School and she shared some other tidbits with us about the town. I hate I didn't get her name! I don't usually rave about side salads but this one was good. The comeback dressing was superb! Hunks of red onions and cheese. Only thing missing was a diced boiled egg. But it was good. Our eyes popped wide when our plates hit the table. I just recently started eating steaks and have to go with the NY Strip. This steak was huge. My friend's Ribeye was enormous! Both were cooked as we asked (she got medium rare and I got medium). Flavor was so good that when I ran it through some A-1, I realized I didn't need it at all. Even though I ate it, they really could have kept that baked sweet potato. I needed all my stomach space for this steak. Due to my sucking down so much sweet tea before we got our food, I couldn't finish all of the steak. I have half of it left and can't wait for breakfast! There was a gentleman who kept coming around asking if we were good. He was sweet and I appreciated him wanting to make sure everything was great. My friend declared this the best meal she's ever had and I would be remiss not to agree. We plan to go back and try some of their weekly specials soon! read more

First off, the service and server were fantastic!! I probably go back just for the service side. However, the food was not desirable. I love Cajun food and will make an excuse to drive to the MS coast or Louisiana just for the great food. I was not impressed with anything I ordered. I ordered a cup of all the entrees just to taste. 1. Red beans: cold and beans were hard 2. Jambalaya: dry and not much flavor 3. Étouffée: good flavor just a weird creamy texture 4. Gumbo: brown flavorless soup The entree was fried shrimp and I'm not certain, but I think it was frozen. Not consistent size and overcooked...very chewy. If you're a marinaded steak, ketchup, A1 steaksauce, or a H57 kinda of person.... Their steaks will be fine. If you like a good seasoned filet with a good steak sear medium rare, you better choose a different place. Don't order the filet! You might as well be eating a marinaded ribeye. Literally every dish we've eaten here is worst than the last. Steaks are 75% FAT..."fresh" seafood dishes are absolutely disgusting (severely under seasoned or over salted with sauces that sound good on paper but taste horrible...and fried seafood that's absolutely inedible. Food is not as good as it was last year! The steak had a horrible bitter sauce on it. They didn't have that on before. The Reese's pie was grainy and couldn't eat it. The service was great. One of the best ribeye steaks available in the Jackson metro. It's not a fancy place at all, but that's fine with us. The sides could use some work but the steak is spot on. Service is fast and efficient but if you get there at 6 on a weekend you may wait 1.5 to 2 hours. read more

First time there just recently. I had the crawfish, sausage, and corn, which was great. My wife had a grilled chicken salad which was well-seasoned. The Lettuce was exceptionally fresh (they source it from a local farm) and the comeback was very good. Love! First time at Bill's and already planning when we're going back! Tried Bill's on a busy Saturday night. Put our name on the list at the bar and got a table about 15 minutes later. Love that it's a super casual restaurant (wear your shorts!) with moody lighting and checkered tablecloths. Had a super friendly waitress who quickly got our drinks and took our order. I had the fried shrimp platter with house salad and baked potato. Their comeback dressing is delicious. Baked potato was hot and cooked all the way and came with butter and sour cream. Shrimp were perfectly fried and came with cocktail sauce. Hubs had the ribeye with fries. Steak was perfectly medium rare and fries tasted homemade. We tried the caramel chocolate chip pie (homemade) and it didn't disappoint. I know you're hungry now - so go! read more

Long time fan of Bill's, but boy did it disappoint this past Saturday. After waiting for well over an hour we were seated and then waited a long time for a wait staffer to come to the table. Fortunately, we had ordered appetizers while still waiting so they came out pretty quickly. They were the highlight of the evening. The Gumbo was phenomenal. Remembering how delicious my ribeye was the previous week, I duplicated that order...Ribeye, medium, with loaded potato and a salad. The steak finally arrived and the disappointment began. By contrast, the ribeye placed before me on this evening looked much more like a baby strip streak than the big and beautiful ribeye I was served just a week earlier. Then I made the mistake of cutting into it...only to find it a few degrees past well done. I could neither cut it nor eat it. I have no idea what happened, but it was like eating at a fine steak house one night, then a week later at a "want to be" Logan's the next. I genuinely don't understand how quality control can go from 100 to 40 in a week's time. I am sorry, Bill, but you weren't around for me to discuss this with while it was happening, so I find this the best way to send up a red flag for quality control to examine procedures. read more

Roast beef Poboy doesn't have gravy and the bread was old, because it was hard on the bottom. It was also smaller than a regular size poboy. When I think of a Cajun poboy, I think of warm, flaky bread with a little crunch. I don't think of cold, soft bread. The cocktail sauce for the seafood ordered was frozen. Just not impressed. Worth a field trip out to Flora Consistent hustling wait staff and some really impressive flavors from seafood dishes in particular. The temperature at each visit has indeed been an issue, too too hot in all seasons. Needs to be addressed. Sweating on brow etc. Steaks are well priced, but I agree w previous review on a gas aftertaste, odd in that on arrival the air is charcoal grill filled it seemed. Upon entering the place was packed, I noticed people fanning themselves, It was hot and muggy inside. The food was good although it took almost an hour to get our food. I agree with Michael D. I had a faint taste of gas in the steak, but it was still delicious. The bill was very reasonable, due mainly to the BYOB. read more
