Some of the most flavorful crawfish I've had this season. They never disappoint. This is one of my favorite spots to eat crawfish.

This May, I decided to branch out and give Bayou Bugs a chance rather than going to my regular crawfish joints. Here's my Cajun boy assessment... (Out of 5 stars) Spice: -4 stars: While the crawfish tails didn't have much of the spice, you could definitely find it in the head and in the garlic, celery, onions. It was a great flavor and had plenty of kick; I just wish it made it into the tail meat. Crawfish Taste/Texture: -4 stars: the crawfish needed to soak longer to absorb the flavor better and to allow the tail meat to separate from the shell more. 25% of my tails were sticking to the shell and came out crumbly and were likely boiled for too long (over-cooked). Summary: needs less time boiling, more time soaking. Crawfish size: -3 stars: For May I definitely expected larger crawfish than I got. Most were on the small side. Potatoes: -3 stars: standard red potatoes; not large but not small. They were bland and clearly not cooked in the same pot as the crawfish or at least not nearly long enough. Service: -5 stars: live music and a nice outdoor seating area. Staff was friendly and quick. I'll probably be back at some point because I did enjoy the food, but it didn't take the place of my favorite place in town for boiled crawfish. read more

My husband has been craving crawfish for a couple months now. Now that crawfish season has started, we went to Bayou Bugs because it was close to our home. This was a waste of money. We ordered crab legs and 2lbs of crawfish. The crawfish had no seasoning at all. They taste as though they were just boiled in water and someone forgot to season them. On top of that, the crawfish and the crab legs were dry. I have never had dry crab legs or crawfish until today. In the future, I will drive the extra distance to go for crawfish because I will never go here again. This food was so horrible after eating one crawfish and one crableg, we had to trash the rest. By the way, if I could have given zero stars, that is exactly what I would have given. read more

Las Terrazas is finally the first Mexican restaurant to open off the Gluckstadt Exit and was much needed. I had the street style tacos which is basically 3 corn tortillas with a spicy pork that is grilled to order. The restaurant has most items you would find at other mexican restaurants but it does offer a nice selection of items that you will not find anywhere else such as the Mocajete Ranchero which is a large dish served in large hot stone bowl with everything good in life; steak, grilled chicken and sautèed vegetables in a homemade chipotle and mocajete sauce that is served with authentic queso fresco. It's delicious. I've also had the Chile Colorado here and at other mexican restaurants and this place is not afraid to bring on the spice and it does not taste like it is out of a can. It is actually made. In the restaurant. Everyday. Also, the queso dip is superb, probably some of the best in the area. I don't know how to they do it but it's seriously addictive. If you have room for dessert, go with flan and you will not be disappointed. It's also made in house. All in all, it was a great experience. We are new to the area and wanted somewhere close by that was family friendly (as we have a 3 and 5 year old). The atmosphere reminded me of a Tex-Amex cantina. Fun, warm, and perfect for family eating! The salsa is delicious! Love all the cilantro. Service was fantastic and the food we ordered came out quickly, hot, and accurate to what we ordered. I got the street steak tacos and the seasoning was on point! Also the margaritas were strong and two-for-one! Great for sharing! We enjoyed the meal and look forward to going back again! read more

Worst experience ever just now at this Mexican restaurant graded "B" Service terrible and waiter said kitchen was really busy. Two of us. One served within 5 minutes of ordering; other meal was offered about 15 minutes later. Unacceptable. I'll have to find another. read more

I went to this restaurant for lunch with some co-workers because it came highly recommended. The place was not very crowded so we were thinking service would be great. That is not the case, the service was not good at all. We only had one bowl of chips to share with 5 people. All of the orders we wrong and 2 guest had cold food. Look, I don't eat out often or write many reviews, but something had to be said. Also, people who were seated after us were served and left before us. After speaking to the manager, he stated that no had ever complained about his restaurant. We were the first. I felt that was hard to believe. Some of my co-workers ate because they were waiting for food so long and we had to get back to work and their receipts were overcharged for items that no one purchased. New Mexican restaurant in the old Turnrow location. Bud light is the only beer on draft. Most Mexican spots have at least Dos Equis on draft. I got a Negra Modella bottle for $4.50. This is a good bit higher than most Tex Mex joints in the area. i.e I can usually get a Dos Equis Amber for $4 for a 32 oz draft. Menu was pretty vast but a good $2-$5 more per dish than most Tex Mex places around Madison. Cheese dip was average and chips were not fresh. Tasted like they were out of bag instead of freshly made. My wife got the shrimp tacos which were super hot. I got the Fajita steak quesadilla. The strange thing was no rice, beans, or pico came with either entree. At $9-$12 each, they should have. Did we leave hungry? No, but just not impressed. I'm glad something is out this way but at these inflated prices and weak beer selection, I'll drive 3-5 miles for something better. read more

Finally there is a Mexican place in Gluckstadt! They make that salsa every day and it is absolutely delicious! I'm talking about a three baskets of chips just so I could continue to eat the salsa... I always get the steak for heat a quesadilla and it never disappoints. Service was awesome, my server Scotty went above and beyond and made my dining experience amazing! read more

Save yourself some trauma and upset stomach. Cold appetizers. Cold entrees. And mgt obsessed with cell phones. Mexican and Magnolia State sadly don't mesh. WORST SERVICE IN MISSISSIPPI. !!!!!!! We were so excited to have Mexican come to Gluckstadt. Have eaten there 10+ times. Average quality. Wait staff slightly above average. One night we were tired and decided to get takeout. I returned home and opened my dinner. I discovered a roach in my rice. I took it back to the restaurant. They offered me other food but not a refund. No drink menu, no drink specials (have seen since I visited on their sign that they have specials every now and then.) Food is bland and expensive. Chips and salsa are ok. Queso is ok. I went to las terrazas yesterday. We were one of the first people to get there when we were first seated they took our drink order. We both ordered peach margaritas and a water. Shortly after ordering our waiter (who may be 13?) brought out our margaritas but not the water. Which wasn't a big deal he eventually brought it back out after us reminding him. About 30 minutes after us being there they finally took our food order. Granted they were NOT busy at all. We ordered a chicken happy plate. And enchilada with rice and a small cheese dip. They brought out the cheese dip a while later. It was clumpy and cold. Tasted old. About an hour goes by and we still don't have our food. Which was a pretty simple order. They came back out after I walked inside trying to get someone's attention and being ignored. They asked what we ordered and told us it would be just a few minutes. While we were waiting we ordered another peach margarita. He made me a lime margarita then argued with me claiming it was a peach margarita. I told him this wasn't what I ordered and I wanted him to remake me the right one. A few minutes later he brought out the same exact lime margarita. By this time it had been close to two hours since we ordered our food. They brought out my sister's enchilada but not her rice. And the enchilada was could and gross. I asked to speak with whoever was in charge to try to get this train wreck under control and he was very rude. Didn't even care. I still never got my food. When they brought the ticket they didn't even try to divide the check they out every thing on one check and charged us for things we never got. I will never go here again. Nasty food. Nasty people. Awful service. And almost every one who worked in there looked to be about 12 years olde. ***also side note*** we sat outside on the deck and the grass from the grass umbrella kept falling in our cheese dip and drinks. read more

We moved to the area recently from an area loaded with good Mexican restaurants. We are so happy we found this place as it is great. Excellent service, interesting menu, and the food is always served fresh and hot. An added bonus is during crawdad season you can order from here and the Bayou Bugs next door and they will gladly serve you. Only in Mississippi! read more

I would not even give this place 1 star but I had to just to be able to write a review. I do not know how this restaurant is still in business but I guarantee you they will not make it much longer. My first time here and I will never be back. First, Be sure to clear your schedule for the rest of the night if you come for dinner - takes forever to get service & when you finally get it... It. Is. Not. Worth. A. Crap. Next, pack snacks because when you finally get your food it is going to be cold and dry. Lastly, do not come in winter - they do not believe in turning on the heat. Ok yall for those of you who know me I am not one to vent or complain on facebook , but this is really getting to me. this afternoon I chose to treat my family to Mexican for lunch at Las Terrazas Mexican restaurant in Gluckstadt. The weather was great and we chose to sit out on the back porch. The service that we experienced was the worst i have encountered in recent memory. It was almost 25min until we were served our drinks (including water) and about half that time was until we even had someone take our drink order. also the umbrellas kept blowing out of the tables (they were not even anchored down. After the drink order I complained to the manager, again I do not normally ever complain at a restaurant (I just don't go back) but this was just ridiculous. Our food order was no different it seemed it took an hour for it even to come out (just quesadillas and a taco) and then to make matters worse our food came out with no silverware! after about 5min of our food getting cold and us getting our own silverware the waiter showed up with some. then when I finally went to pay (no one brought us our check) there was no apology made neither was there an offer to compensate me for our bad service(I was not looking for a free meal and I have never asked a restaurant for any sort of discount) but the offer would have been nice. Ok sorry for the rant but i just had to get this off my chest i have never had such a bad experience in many years and I have worked in the service industry for most of my life. If you're hungry, don't get the Baja fish tacos. The wife's scallop chimichanga was delicious though. Plenty of food on her plate.

Service was super bad, food was average. We had about 3 different people ask for our order, so I don't even know who our server was. Nobody came up to us once after they gave us our food to ask if we needed anything or refill our drinks. My cup was empty the entire time and nobody came to refill it. I had to ask for it to be refilled (despite he obviously saw it was empty) when he came to give us our check. Not worth the money...going to El Ranchito next time. read more

Super slow service. Food was not good, the burrito we got was cold inside. My sons chicken fingers were freezer burnt. The 2 for 1 margaritas were premade with mostly Margarita mix. The live music was good. He needs to come down to El Ranchito.... read more

The food is okay but there are other restaurants in the area that serve better food. Price per entree is more than what is in the area. Chips taste like they come from a bag and not freshly cooked. Queso is mediocre. Guacamole dip is just a small bowl of blobbed guacamole. read more
