I just got a new puppy and went to look for some things that he will need. The girl in there was super helpful and gave me some good samples of food to try with my new puppy. Only thing is the prices on somethings in the store are a bit much but I know there is a difference in quality when comparing them to say petco. read more

I just have to say....I Love Mud Bay! Not only are the staff wonderfully kind to the animals who come to shop but also to the humans that accompany them. Everyone there is so knowledgeable, are able to make great recommendations, and take returns if it doesn't work. I love Mudbay! Took me awhile to finally write a review! So although I wish they had a loyalty or rewards program of a sort that we were used to in California or our previous pet shop (Scraps in Seattle, which closed early this year) it's a great shop for our fur babies. First of all I love how friendly and welcoming the staff is. Even my dog knows Mudbay = free treats from staff and is always trying to pull me in the store whenever we pass by on our walks. They are usually always stocked with my dogs frozen raw food. My cat currently gets a dehydrated raw food that tends to run out quickly but the staff at Mudbay have been super accommodating at putting a bag on hold for me to pick up later in the evening at either locations. They genuinely care about your pets. My finicky cat is so particular with his food and the staff has provided free samples to help me find something that agrees well with him. They also allow returns or exchanges on products that don't work out for your pet including food which helps when you have a picky cat like mine. Thanks Mudbay! :) read more

I'm writing this review for my pug Digby... Mud Bay is the best place to go for treats. The people always give you free treats when you walk in the door, they are very friendly and they sell treats by the bulk and the peanut butter ones are my favorite. I always get my "poop bags" here and the selection of toys is great. They don't sell my favorite food but they have a large selection. Every kind of dog/cat accessory you can imagine, and their prices are reasonable, but I keep dragging my dad here because the people are so darn friendly. Thanks Mud Bay! read more

If I lived near here I'd do all my pet shopping in this store!! While visiting my friend in Seattle, we stopped in for pet food for his dogs. I picked up some Flo for UT Health cat treats for my cat back home since I just found out she has the beginning stages of kidney disease. So far my cat won't eat the foods my vet back home recommended. When I told the lady at the register this while paying she called a specialist from the back. This awesome lady gave me some helpful literature and also offered me a free 3-pack of cans of different brands to try. I explained I lived out of state so I wouldn't be a return buyer. She replied that she still wanted me to have them since then I'd know which one my cat preferred. What heartfelt customer service!! And OMG - my cat loves two of the three and she's stopped limping (which probably had nothing to do with the food but I'm still elated). read more

She is so informative and when there was a recall on California Natural she went above and beyond to find me alternatives that would work for my very finicky dogs. I love this store. They immediately greet my dogs and make them feel special. When my dog was very sick he needed special food on top of the already special diet he eats and the staff were so helpful. They encouraged me to try a couple of things and then come back the next day to make sure the dogs would eat it. They also offered tips on how to calm them down and calmed me down too because I was a scared doggie mom. I can't say enough about the positive experiences I continue to have with all of the staff at Mud Bay. My dogs truly pull me down the street down to come into the store. My dogs are very excited to see them and get special attention and treats to make them feel like they are the #1 dogs in the world. i'm a big fan of mud bay. i went in looking for a new shampoo for my pup after the new bottle i had just opened resulted in red and itchy skin. the girl working gave me a great recommendation, many reasons why i should try it, and the promise that if it didn't work for me, that i could bring it back and try something else. and to top it off, it was one of the cheaper shampoos they offer! there were a bunch of food samples behind the counter just waiting to be handed out, plus a sample "treat of the day" sitting on the counter, waiting to go home with me. i'm going to have to go back in for some new food recommendations. i love having a store like this in my neighborhood, so i don't have to get in my car or on a bus to go stock up at petco. yay! read more

The only one that likes having Mud Bay in the neighborhood more than me is my puppy. The employees are all so nice, and they have everything we could possibly need for the pup. It might be a bit more expensive than petco or some other chain stores, but the location and the neighborhood feel more than make up for it. This place is amazing. I avoided for years because of the sticker shock. You get what you pay for though. They are very helpful and you don't ever have to worry about wasting money. They have samples of most the items in stock and happily give you many to take home. When you have finicky animals this saves you so much money down the road. Also even if you do end up purchasing a large bag of something your pet won't eat, they take it back. Who else takes back opened product, no questions asked? I would love to see them expand and cater to lizards, reptiles and amphibians. Maybe other locations do? read more

I started going to Mud Bay about a year ago when we moved to Seattle. At the time we just had a cat. A few months ago we also got a puppy. He is a picky eater and their policy of giving samples was so incredibly helpful when trying to find the right food for him. Now when we're even close to the store he gets so excited and when we walk in he's overjoyed to see everyone who works there. I am impressed with the knowledge of the staff as well. Recently my cat was coughing because of hairballs and I was really worried. I stopped in and talked to someone about what to do and they even sent me home with some handouts. In a few days she was totally better. When we first got our puppy he had dry skin and when I asked my vet about it she said not to worry. A few days later the people at Mud Bay recommended I start giving him salmon oil. In two days his dry skin had disappeared. Mud Bay reminds me why shopping local is so much better. read more
