After hanging out in the aquarium area waiting to spot a staff member for 10-15 minutes, I went to ask the folks at the register if there was someone who could assist me with getting some fish. The girl said she will let the other staff know that I need help, but that "she's very busy right now". I hung around for another 10 minutes or so, and took my business elsewhere. I'm really disappointed with the grooming experience I had with Roxane A. I provided very clear and detailed instructions for my golden doodle's haircut, with a strong emphasis on not cutting her tail or ears, as those areas still had her original puppy fur--something very special to me. Unfortunately, those instructions were not followed, and her tail was cut, which was really upsetting. I understand mistakes can happen, but this felt like a complete disregard for the care and thought I put into explaining what I wanted. Grooming is about trust and communication, and sadly, that trust was broken during this visit. Let's not forget that I seen the condition my dog was in, and told her she was LAZY, in which she proceeded to say "I'm not lazy, I've been here since 8am with no lunches or breaks. Proving my point further!! You gave my dog a blatant buzz cut because it was the easier thing to do, had nothing to do with how long you've been on your shift. & not taking and lunches or breaks in the 7 hours my dog was in your care is just ridiculous. I would be taking that up with labor and industries! I won't be returning, and I hope this feedback encourages more attention to detail and better listening in the future. Sabrina has always cut and made me dog look like perfection. Then you run into lazy and careless groomers like this that make you lose all trust in the establishment. I would also like to note that when I went in in the morning to drop her off, she noted that her bottomed belly area felt matted. To which I said it was fine to use the 10 blade on THAT PART OF HER BODY ONLY. Not only did she give me golden doodle Ivy a buzz cut she was supposed to have a TEDDY BEAR HEAD. Rewards members went into for puppy training and afterwards got toys and treats for my puppy taking advantage of the buy 3 get 2 free deal that they had posted all over the store and in the aisles. Such a terrible place. I had an 8:00 appointment, no groomers showed up until 8:30. Then at pickup the same person called us then left the store and left the grooming department empty. They were calling for her so I can get my dog and there was no one to be found. They had to call a manager to get my dog. When I told him how bad the service was the only answer was I will have to look at when she punch in I'll never go back and strongly recommend everyone avoid this terrible place. read more

My experience today was very poor. I have been coming to the store for a long time and everybody is usually very pleasant. The manager spoke to me as if I were a child, in a tone that was very rude. I have been a revenue manager in a hospital for over 20 years years, with five different departments under me, with over 200 employees. I wouldn't let anyone snap at a customer the way she snapped at me because I got into her line. Tone is everything in customer service and there are a lot of pet stores in Seattle. If I could rate this place a ZERO I would most certainly would. I brought my 10 month doodle in for grooming and gave Roxanne A very specific instructions on how to cut her fur. Roxanne A. formed her own personal opinion on my dogs fur and decided to BUZZ CUT her because she FELT that it was too matted. My dog is still a pup. She's 10mnths old. She doesn't have her adult coat yet and gets brushed every single day, bathed often & is very well taken care of...there isn't a single mat in her fur!!!!!!. I took her in today because I wanted take spring pictures for postcards that I'm going to send out to loved ones & I felt that she deserved to look her best. I had a vision and I was utterly disappointed with the end result. When I presented Roxanne A with my concerns, she completely disregarded me and gaslit me by saying my dogs fur was "too matted which made me feel like a bad pet owner. I'm very disappointed, upset and angry that this happened. I will never come back to this establishment and I hope that there are improved training practices for the groomers when it comes to situations like this. read more

Came in for a simple grooming appointment. As I was dropping my dog off, both groomers were simultaneously on the phone complaining to other customers about how "difficult" their dogs were and how they had to charge extra. I thought, "Wow, what are the odds? Fast forward to pick-up: my dog is looking great, calm as ever, and - drumroll please - I get the exact same speech. Word. For. Word. Apparently, my mellow, sweet, senior dog who lets toddlers poke him in the eye "struggled the whole time" and "required extra handling," so of course, I got the mystery surcharge. At this point, I'm convinced their scissors run on drama and upcharges. In short, 10/10 for creativity, 0/10 for honesty. read more

Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had at a PetSmart, and that's saying a lot. Roxanna should not be working with the public, period. From the moment I walked in, her attitude was nasty, dismissive, and straight-up unprofessional. She acted like helping customers was a burden, like she had something better to do than, I don't know... her job? She was rude, short-tempered, and clearly had zero interest in being helpful. Don't bother! I brought my longhaired dachshund in for the Touch-Up service specifically, because it is done by a groomer. I wanted a TRIM on the "feathers" that longhairs have on the back of their back legs, not a removal- only a trim to clean them up. I made the point over and over when discussing what I wanted done. Danny, even asked about the other hair around her upper legs. I said no, just to clean up what I asked for. I wasn't listened to. He cut her feathers off completely, and took it upon himself to trim off the upper leg hair too. Not only did he do exactly what I didn't want, what he did looks like a hack job by someone who's been handed a shaver for the first time. They offered to 'make it right' by refunding my service and then charging me a discounted price. I declined, I was so upset. As a Hail Mary when I was leaving, Danny suddenly claimed it was all he could do because she had some mats. Not the story I got at all when he initially explained what he did. read more

Beware! The grooming solon here is rude and weird. I have the exact CDC recommended rabies "form 51" filed out and signed by the vet from Seattle Humane Society with dates serial numbers and everything, and they claim it's not valid just because they feel like it. I'm certain it's a scam to get vaccines done at their in house vet or an excuse to discriminate against disabled people like myself. Probably for the best. It was disgusting in there, as if they hadn't vacuumed or swept up hair all day. The lone dog was butchered way too short and uneven. They probably did my pup a favor tbh, but it's bizarre behavior, and red flags everywhere. Hope I save you the wasted time and a trip! PetSmart in the Haller Lake neighborhood of Seattle was one of the two nearby pet stores we went for supplies when I was growing up. Since my childhood and the passing of the pets we had then, I have come to the store for dog supplies for my parents' and sister's dogs. One recent highlight was when my sister got a female Münsterländer and asked me to watch her for the day. She was still learning to use a leash and we walked the aisles as she decided what toy she wanted. She wanted a small fox, which I got for her to add to her toy collection. I still appreciate that pets are allowed in the store, fun to see them explore and pick what they want. read more

She was given clear directions for my family's preferred grooming (as she is still a young puppy without her adult coat) and Roxanne took it into her hands to groom my dog as she desired. I took my 11 year old Shih Tzu here this past weekend, and my worst fear happened. They injured my dog and i had to take her to the vet for several stitches. I came to the store at 8:50 for our 9:00 appointment. The grooming doors were still closed and I was told that the stylists were not there yet. It's 9:05 and only then does the first stylist of the day come in. They let me into the grooming room, and we have to wait an additional 5 minutes for their system to start up. Unprofessional from the start. Stylists don't even care enough to show up on time, so this shows you their level of care for their jobs. Our dog had the usual amount of matting in the common areas (around the armpit, belly, tail). But when I got a call only an hour after dropping of my dog, my heart sank. They told me to pick her up. When I came in, they told me that she got cut under the armpit, and they needed to stop grooming midway. The stylist didn't act apologetic. In fact, their tone made it seem like it wasn't that huge of a deal, and that the cut was minimal. They barely showed it to me, either, so I couldn't get a proper look at it until I got home. I assumed it was just a small cut that wasn't too deep, so it being Sunday, I waited to get into our regular vet on a weekday. Then we finally get into the vet. $500 dollar bill, several stitches, and antibiotic medication later, I know I will never take my dog to PetSmart for grooming ever again. The money I spent at the vet is a huge burden, but I feel most bad for my dog. Pet owners know that feeling. I felt absolutely guilty and responsible for taking her to such a place that clearly had no regard for her well-being. If you truly care about you pet's safety, or just want to avoid the potential cost of $500 vet bills, please take your dogs elsewhere. read more

I went in for a nail trim at the start of Yappy Hour. Was told they couldn't do it because they had an appt they were waiting for and was told I had to make an appt on the app but the app doesn't have just a nail trim. I asked the groomer to make an appt while I was there and she said she couldn't and I had to do it on the app. In the time we were talking about how to schedule she could have done the nails. The scheduled appointment had still not shown up and we talked for about 15 minutes. Still no one showed up! Not very good customer service. Came here to buy prescription dog food with a prescription from my vet like I have done 10x before. This time they insisted I go to banfield hospital so they could give me a card?!?! Basically the hospital is linked with the store and they want your data, the manager couldn't even explain why I needed to go to them. Take your business elsewhere, they are playing games. I had a pretty bad experience today in the grooming salon with the groomer Mordecai. I would not recommend choosing them to groom your animal. From the very start of my checkin process Mordecai was super condescending, short tempered and unwilling to listen to my requests for my dogs haircut. I've taken my dog here multiple times and have not had issues with the groomers temperament/ personality until today. My requests were simple and direct, I even had photos to show them and also used the length guide they provide to help explain what I was looking for. I got the complete opposite of what I requested. Instead of very short feet/legs and longer body I got long feet and legs and shorter body. The exact opposite of my request. I can't help but feel like this was done intentionally based off of Mordecai's demeanor at the check in. When I picked up my dog Mordecai was in the back and would not come out for questions- another groomer brought my dog out. $85 is a lot to spend for a janky haircut and a bad attitude from the service provider. There's random long scraggly hairs all over her that I've had to trim myself. Very disappointed overall and will probably be going somewhere else next time. read more

This picture is only a small amount of what I brushed after the supposed de-shedding service. I warned them she does not like the nail clippers and they said she bit the groomer. The groomers on Wednesday in 13000 Aurora are terrible. They were super rude when we came in and dropped my dog off. They called like an hour in and said they could not do it. I will not ever bring my dog back here. I have been here many times before and in other PetSmart locations. Always had a good experience but this was terrible. We took time off work to make sure and drop him off and be ready later to pick him up to just have someone who was super rude and then could not finish grooming him. read more

The store is large in space and very easy to navigate through the aisles. I'm surprised that they don't carry NutriSource dog food in store. The staff was nice to guide me to the aisle when I asked for bitter apple spray, even though it was unavailable/out in the store. Certain items are out in the store and doesn't seem to be restocked very often. They don't have a lot of staffing at work that only one cashier was available at checkout. They do have a large selections of collars and chewy toys for dogs. read more

Unhappy! Been taking my 2 small dogs to the 13100 Aurora Ave. N. PetSmart for grooming for the last few years & have been quite pleased with the results. There have NEVER been any complaints/comments from the groomers re my dogs' appearance or behavior until my last appt on 11/14/24. Suddenly, one dog had mats (which I sure didn't see when checking over the pups the night before the appt.), plus I was charged an extra $10 per pup for "special handling!" Groomers "Roxanne" & "Sabrina" stated that both dogs "struggle with getting their hair cut & the grooming process in general" - hmm, they're DOGS, what do you expect? Is it the dog or is it the GROOMER?? I've owned dogs for 40+ yrs, always had them professionally groomed, & never before encountered a groomer who felt my pups were hard to handle or difficult to groom in any way. Additionally, although I left pictures & asked the grooming intake person for a schnauzer-like face style (as I'd specified in past visits) both dogs' eyebrows were cut off. Pros: there is an extensive grooming menu. Be sure to read when you arrive. When I was on the phone the person who answered sold me on a full-groom - which honestly was not needed for the dog I was bringing in. Cons: I found the price over expensive for what was needed. And I found an error in the billing. I foster dogs on occasion and had a sweet little pup named Annie who really needed a clean-up around her face. It's my first time bringing a dog to a groomer who actually needed their fur cut. Annie has long beautiful fur but her face was neglected by her previous owner (tear stains around her eyes and I'm not sure she could see clearly with all the fur around her eyes). I called and made an appointment - I was happy they could fit her in quickly as I want her to get adopted into an awesome home. When I dropped her off I asked that her body fur not be touched only clean up her face, no need to cut her nails or clean her glands (they are already done). And to put a bow on her head (they are so cute)! Her face looked adorable, as did the bow (which I couldn't get out a few days later after she pulled on it) and they trimmed her body fur. Fortunately, they didn't shave her they way I see some people complain so I was pleased with the result. However $40.00 is just too much. My wish for all dog-groomers: I know you are experts and it is greatly appreciated. I hope some of you would give a break to dogs that are fostered and looking to get adopted into a new home. I happily paid for this dog and would bring more dogs in the future if a groomer would cut me a break. I adjusted my budget to give this pup a chance - it's a heart-felt offer to give. I am considered taking dog-grooming classes to offer other rescues the service at a discount or free. Seattle is a dog friendly town and I notice volunteering at a rescue dog's are quickly surrendered for reasons that shock me. There are also solid reasons why people surrender a dog (no-judgment intended). There is a perfect home for every dog - grooming a wild looking pup can help get it to it's perfect home the second, third and fourth time around. Peace read more

Do NOT go to this petsmart grooming unless you want to get YELLED AT. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. Everyone in there looked so angry. So what sealed the deal: I came to come pick my dog up after I was called in the intercom. I go inside. Danielle the technician was tugging on his leash UPWARDS and both his front legs were up in the air and when I told her to let him down, she YELLS at me to meet her out front. And followed by "are you going to leash him or what". I was so confused. I thought something bad happened in there and she wanted to lash out at me for some reason. Terrible Pet Handling and Lousy Attitude. I was waiting to make an appt to have my dog groomed when I witnessed an altercation between a groomer by the name of Danielle and another pet owner. I noticed a dog in the possession of the groomer being mishandled. leash was being held way too high.. to a point where the dog was literally choking and all legs were literally off the ground. naturally, the dog owner witnessed this and was upset. Danielle's response was actually mind blowing at that point... she snapped back at the customer and then proceed to confront the customer outside and we (as in all customers in the store) could hear her yelling at the customer. So I came in for a walk-in service for a face trim and nail grinding. The girl tells me that they are only offering walk in services at the moment because it was 7pm. Well... why the f does the pet smart website state that a face trim is a walk in-service then?!?! The girl looked at her coworker and she was reluctant to take my pup in. Maybe she wasn't happy about it, but the website clearly says that it's a walk in service. I then asked to have my pups nails' to be grinded. Why did I come back to having my pup bleeding from the side of his paw? Wtf. My furbaby is a little guy. He weighs 2.5lbs. Some places have told me that they won't grind his nails bc he's too small. Other places don't have a problem with it. If you thought you were getting too close to him, PLEASE just STOP. This furball is my baby and all I'm thinking about is infection.
