Four enthusiastic paws up! I started bringing my pup, Brixton to Hounds Abound after he was kicked out of another daycare. My dog is deaf and can be reactive on leash and at gates, but this has never been an issue with staff at Hounds Abound, since they're highly trained and recognize how common reactivity is. I used to get phone calls during the day from his previous daycare, about what a terror he was being and at pickup I would always get an earful. Not the case at Hounds Abound! I have never gotten anything but a positive report about Brixton's day and how well mannered he is with other dogs, even those much smaller than him. This is in fact the true nature of my sweet boy. The staff are all amazing (especially Jo Ann) and go above and beyond. As soon as my dog realizes we are headed to Hounds Abound, he gets the biggest smile on his face and can't wait to jump out of the car to get inside to visit all of his friends. At the end of the day, he's so tuckered out that his head hits the pillow as soon as we get home and his two day slumber commences. read more

After my 8 week old lab pup was overwhelmed by big dogs at a different daycare, I took him to Mary Kate and Jo Ann and he stayed for the next 11 years. The people and pups at Hounds Abound are amazing. They truly care about your dog as if he or she were their own and in the house on 103rd, Mary Kate has been incredibly thoughtful about meeting the needs of big dogs, little dogs, old dogs, shy dogs and hyper crazies. The crew keeps things incredibly clean and they're so attentive to each dog's needs and personality, that you couldn't ask for better folks to keep your pup company for the day. I love the space inside for small, shy and older dogs and my pups were happy to run and wrestle outside, or, just take a nap on an old couch in the basement. I miss a lot about Seattle but Hounds Abound Playground is one of the things I miss most. Nigel and Cleo Greyhound miss it too. read more

I brought my French Bulldog here to help with his socialization, separation anxiety, and ME during those days we can't watch him while at work. I know Hugo is well-taken care of at Hounds Abound and with the staff, Jo Ann and Mary Kate. As soon as I park my car, he bolts to the HA front door and can't play with his puppy pals soon enough! I love that he comes home EXHAUSTED (a tired dog is a happy dog!) and the staff are great - they give me updates on his day when I pick him up (Hugo made a pug friend Ezekiel, initiated play with the big dogs, caused trouble, etc.) and they often post photos on their Facebook page so later that evening I can see how he spent his day! I love seeing photos of his day while I'm at my 9-to-5 -- playing with dogs three times his size, resting in the shade on the porch, or running in the background. Hounds Abound is a saving grace. We have been bringing our new pup (now 9 months) here for a couple of months now. She plays ALL day, makes new friends, develops crushes, and is so well socialized with dogs of all breeds and sizes. Izzi cannot wait to get up those stairs to daycare in the morning, and she is happy and exhausted in the evenings. You can tell she has fun, because she is still chasing her friends in her sleep! I can't say enough wonderful things about Hounds. My dog LOVES it there. Mary Kate and her staff are true dog lovers. Since I've been taking my dog there a few times a week, she's been much calmer and well adjusted. They play with the dogs all day - and are great to talk to about specific behavior issues. I never thought I'd be one of those people who take their dog to daycare, but now I can't imagine not having them involved in the care of my dog friend. read more

Our dog has been doing to HA since he was a baby (almost 4 years ago!) and we have been so happy with the care he gets there. He comes home exhausted and happy every time. The people were very nice, but my dog escaped from their daycare and they DID'NT EVEN NOTICE! They didn't know he had been gone all day when I went to pick him up. Talk about horrible service! I understand my dog was the one who jumped the fence, however, he got bored enough to want to leave, and they didn't hear him struggling to get over the fence. Where were the people for that period, and why didn't they take a head count? I cant believe they charge $29 a day to not supervise or even keep track of their dogs. Not worth the money. read more

I bring P. here twice a week for crate-relief, on a recommendation from Bark Natural Pet in Ballard. She runs around all day, I'm told, and is especially fond of chasing the poodles. From what I can tell, the owner and her staff love the pups and keep a close watch on them in the indoor/outdoor space. P. hates being away from me, so she's reluctant to join the crowd in the morning and beyond ridiculous with her jumping and whining when I come to pick her up at night. I have no idea what they all do all day, but she seems healthy and safe when I pick her up, if a bit riled up, and I have a good feeling. read more

I have never had my dog boarded but walk by several times a week and peek over the fence, just for the sheer joy to see the very nice young lady watching over the dogs, blowing bubbles with 5 dogs lined up around her and following the bubbles with their eyes. A true Disney moment and my camera at home. The dogs never seem to be unattended and line up for a scratch behind the ear, or just rest on or under the bench. There is even a fire hydrant and the yard is always cleaned up. I definitely would take my dogs there - if I could bear to part with them. read more

When we first got our puppy we tried the fancy day cares. While they had cameras, he didn't like that they encouraged potty on the rubber floors, and we didn't like adding time outside was extra. Luckily a neighbor suggested Hounds Abound. Now he can play inside and outside with a staff that is consistent and loves the dogs. My dog has been going to Hounds Abound for over three years ! The staff is great (especially Joann :) ) and I believe, are as excited as the dogs to be there. The cute little house is fun, with both inside and outside play areas that the dogs can come and go. There is also a small/shy dog area. The best thing is in the summer (or when it's warm out) they get the kiddie pools out AND the hoses and spray em' down !! I wish I could be a dog at HA, instead of going to work ! read more

My husband and I have been taking our dog Minnie to Hounds Abound for the past 3 years. Minnie spends time there five days a week, and it's like a second home to her. We just can't say enough good things about HA and the staff there. Mary Kate and Jo Ann and their staff have come to love Minnie over the years almost as much as we do. They understand her needs, her quirks, and what makes her happy. Minnie has clearly developed strong bonds with both the people that work there and the dogs that go there. I can't say enough about what this dog socialization has done for Minnie - she's learned so much by being a part of the HA pack that we trust her in just about any social situation with both dogs and people. One thing in particular I love about the HA facility (aside from the great location) is that the dogs can go outside. So many other daycares keep the dogs inside all day and I'm not sure I'd be sending my dog five days a week in that situation. Hounds Abound is an important part of our dog's happiness and it satisfies the social elements of her being! Mary Kate and Jo Ann are so responsible and they care for the dogs they watch over like they're their own. Overpriced, Overcrowded. Basically, turned my dog down because he has heeler tendencies and his personality is overpowering the other "30" dogs. 30 dogs in that place?! To me, that seems way to many dogs in one place for a daycare to supervise. Also, I understand that my dog has heeler tendencies, but to turn him down because he likes to run circles and play fetch seems a little far fetch. read more

We had our boy Pono at HA for about 3 years until we moved to Hawaii last year. We still follow HA on FB as they were such a positive influence on all our lives. Now we play the videos and Pono howls when he hears the familiar doggie sounds from his old buds. Pono is a JRT and he would come worn out from playing all day. A tired Jack is a good Jack! He loved going to daycare, smiled all way in snorting with a big toothy grin. We haven't found a daycare here yet and doubt we will find the sense of family we all experienced at HA. read more

I've been bringing my 9-month-old pup, Luna, here for the last several weeks and am thoroughly impressed. The staff are all super-friendly and go above and beyond what I expected of a doggie daycare. They post pictures of the dogs playing on their Facebook page daily which gives me peace of mind - especially since I think of my dog as one of my kids. And they regularly post really good information on dog behavior and gentle training. Just by the way the staff greet us in the morning and talk to me about my dog's day at pick-up time, I can tell these folks really care about the pups they work with. But the real kicker is my dog's attitude when we pull up to the building. She absolutely lights up. The only time she ever pulls on leash is to get into this place! She loves it there and can't wait to shower the staff with kisses in the morning. And in the evening, she's so tuckered out that she goes to bed as soon as we're home at 7. And this is the kind of dog that could easily spend all day at the dog park and still need a 45 minute run - so that says a LOT! I'm so happy I made the choice to bring her to Hound's Abound. My dog has never been happier - which would almost be insulting to me if it weren't for her huge happy puppy grin at the end of the day. I'm a busy mom who doesn't have time to write reviews as often as I'd like. From the first day we took our dog to Hounds Abound, we would not even consider looking for another dog day care service. Very easy to work with, very dependable. We use the shuttle service they provide all the time, the dog is always home on time and pretty tuckered out (i.e. exercised). Also very knowlegable regarding other areas such as training, etc, and can provide some good recommendations for other aspects of dog care. Thanks guys! read more
