My review is based purely on grooming (Brooke specifically!) because my dog doesn't enjoy daycare…read moreor boarding so I don't have much experience to go off of there. I've had dogs my whole life but I now have a dog that has long, easily matted fur for the first time ever. The very first time I brought her to Citydog, Brooke told me many good practices to keep her mat free between grooms. I've been back to her countless times and she always does a great job. It's the reality of all long haired dogs that they need to be combed and brushed daily at home. Although I don't do a great job of keeping up with this maintenance between grooms, I'm so grateful I can trust Brooke to help reset my dog's fur whenever I come in. She always does exactly what I ask for and tells me which areas I need to pay more attention to when I'm brushing her at home based on where the most of her mats were. I used to live in Ballard but moved away about 2 years ago and haven't been able to find a groomer who does as good of a job as Brooke.

I have boarded my dog here several times and each time he has come back very dirty and urine…read moresoaked. I had to immediately take him to the bath and let me tell you the water was disgusting. This place charges very high boarding fees, charges extra $15 a night for blocks of holiday days, charges an additional $65 if you pick the dog up after lunch time. You may end up paying $180 to board your dog for 1 night so beware. This price does not include walks, the dogs all pee inside in the play pen. For the outrageous fees, you would expect more. It's so unsanitary. I will never again book this place for my puppy. I don't see how they stay in business. The grooming is abosultely terrible. It's shocking, and for the price you pay you would expect it to look semi professional. Each time the dog was shaved down despite asking for poodle cut. I am done with this place, I only went back for convenience but never again. They need some new management, re-evaluate their fee structure or actually hire some people. Greedy owners will do theirselves in.

Fetch has been a really awesome addition to our weekdays and I'm so glad to have found them!…read more The first walker we met with wasn't a perfect fit, so I was a little nervous to live forward, but big shout out to the client coordinator Jessica who helped establish a new plan and kept in great communication. So far we've had Jordan and Dennis as part of our walking team and boy are they heaven sent! I have a husky and a rambunctious little mutt puppy who's favorite thing in the whole wide world is walks, and boy do these two get each other hyped. Having people be so gentle and understanding with them really means a lot. As wild as they are, Jordan and Dennis have never made me feel like they're too much and I really appreciate that.

When I received their first email telling us that they were taking over Rover I told them NOT to put me in their database & told them it felt like it was damaging trust that they would do this anyways. Since then I have continued to receive emails from them. Fast forward to now, when I decide I will at least inquire into their services...only to I find out they don't even offer overnight stays for cats, only dogs. How discriminatory against cats. What, like cats couldn't possibly need extra in home attention? This is such a common misperception about cats & I am surprised that any company catering to "pets" would allow themselves to buy into that BS.

Einat, the owner, is very responsive and clearly cares about both her customers and her employees--and it shows in the quality of their service. Charlie typically had the same walkers at the same time each week. They were all professional, caring, attentive, and TRUE dog lovers! I loved Strut the Pup's daily walk reports and photos, which gave me peace of mind knowing he was being well taken care of while I was at work. On a few occasions when I was working from home, I watched as his regular walker arrived--Charlie would be waiting at the window and greeted them with full-body wags every time. When Charlie's hips started bothering him as he got older, the team helped me adjust his walks so he could continue enjoying his outdoor adventures. Sadly, Charlie has since passed, but I've saved many of the walk-report photos his walkers took (like this one), and they remain some of my favorite pictures of him. Thank you, Einat and team, for taking such wonderful care of Charlie.

My dogs walked with several team members over time, from puppy care daily walks to twice weekly walks as adults. The walkers have all been very kind and worked well with our dogs. I appreciate their updates and photos after each walk. It is very easy to schedule and to modify service as needed based on your schedule. They are responsive, professional, and truly care about their clients. I highly recommend strut the pup and will use this service again.

Just a shout out to Dog's Day Out! Not only was I a longtime customer but I was part of a guerrilla…read moresurvey group who wanted to know about doggie day cares. In both cases DDO passed with flying colors! Our initial resident husky, Cassie, became a better dog (seriously!) as a result of her time socializing and learning the rules at DDO. And all of our subsequent dogs (yup, huskies) trained to be good canine citizens with either Danette or Erika. The positive impact that these two and DDO have made on their local neighborhood is significant! In fact, so considerate of their neighbors that our first husky was not accepted for fear she'd jump the fence and escape/disturb nearby neighbors. Eventually, Cassie was accepted but watched very closely. Ironically, in my volunteer work at the Seattle Animal Shelter I have found that both Danette and Erika have made significant contributions both in person and in helping to write the training materials that guide new dog walking volunteers at SAS. And they hire like-minded, conscientious people at DDO who also give their time to Shelter dogs. Truly, these are the best people! And I say that as an approaching 70 years semi-curmudgeon-ish woman who likes dogs way better than people most of the time. Check our DDO in Ballard or Burien. I'll likely be there too, as I'm down to only one senior-ish husky.

If you asked me to design the ideal situation for leaving our dogs when we travel, I couldn't come up with anything better than what Mary's got going on. We have two dachshunds, and I wouldn't describe either as being particularly easy to care for. Sophia is 14, is very slow, and is almost immobile from arthritis and a leg break from many years ago. She can't navigate even a single step, and she needs to be handled gently. Charlie is younger, but he's a bit skittish. When we got them both back after 10 days with Mary, they were happier and more energetic than when we dropped them off. They were part of Mary's family, slept and cuddled with the kids, and hung out in the yard with their family dog. Sophia's multiple medications were administered correctly, as well. Mary also texted us daily updates and photos. Just an absolute pleasure to work with, and so glad we have someone like this to trust with our dogs when we're gone.

Mary has always been on time and very communicative - texting us when she's on her way to pick up Buttercup and also sending us pictures of Buttercup on her park adventures with her friends. We're really sad that we can't teleport Mary over to us on the East Coast so that she can continue walking Buttercup. Maybe one day!
