I came to Seattle not knowing anything or anyone, and really feeling scared because I wanted to have someone that I can trust to take care of my furry pal. Having Nadine walk Nico has been not only beneficial for my dog to get out of the house during the day to go to the bathroom and walk around, but he is also gotten better at socialization with other dogs! Nadine cares about your dog, and having her services gives me so much security and a calm feeling, because I know that he will be okay and taken care of so well. I am honestly so grateful that I had Nadine to take care of Nico while I was at work. She leaves notes every day so that you can see how your dog did after work when you come home. A+++++! :) Thank you Nadine!

And Nadine quickly became an integral part of our week. My pup Harper would hear the truck coming and knew it was time for her pack walks with Nadine and her furry friends. An fulfilled, happy girl would return...usually with some final zoomies to show me how much fun she had on her pack. When we added a new pup to our pack at home, Nadine was gracious to begin walks with both Harper & Baker. We loved seeing all the photo updates on the Haven's Hounds Facebook page. Although we've recently moved away, we fondly remember their time with Haven's Hounds and wish we could replicate Nadine in our new town!

If you asked me to design the ideal situation for leaving our dogs when we travel, I couldn't come up with anything better than what Mary's got going on. We have two dachshunds, and I wouldn't describe either as being particularly easy to care for. Sophia is 14, is very slow, and is almost immobile from arthritis and a leg break from many years ago. She can't navigate even a single step, and she needs to be handled gently. Charlie is younger, but he's a bit skittish. When we got them both back after 10 days with Mary, they were happier and more energetic than when we dropped them off. They were part of Mary's family, slept and cuddled with the kids, and hung out in the yard with their family dog. Sophia's multiple medications were administered correctly, as well. Mary also texted us daily updates and photos. Just an absolute pleasure to work with, and so glad we have someone like this to trust with our dogs when we're gone.

Mary has always been on time and very communicative - texting us when she's on her way to pick up Buttercup and also sending us pictures of Buttercup on her park adventures with her friends. Buttercup has also spent some time on overnights at Mary's home when we've gone out of town on trips and she has such a blast! Mary truly takes care of Buttercup as if she's her own pup. We're really sad that we can't teleport Mary over to us on the East Coast so that she can continue walking Buttercup. Maybe one day!

We've had…read moresudden work conflicts, party hosting, and other life moments where we couldn't give our dog the attention he wants or needs. Every time I call Metro Dog they can find space for him in their day or overnight. Our boy is a big spaz. They have shared with us their strategies that keep him from going over the crazy line (30 minutes of play then Quiet kennel time). They also reinforce the good manners we are working hard to reinforce. Does it smell like a kennel. Yes. Is it loud. Yes. Is this life in the city? I think so. Thanks Metro dog!

If I could leave negative stars, I honestly would. Our experience at Metro Dog was deeply…read moreupsetting, and after several months of taking my dog here on and off (at times, every day) I can confidently say we will never return. Several times after attending daycare, my dog came home with issues that later turned into infections. Each time required a vet visit that cost us over $600. While I understand that things can happen in group-care environments, having this happen several times was alarming. What ultimately made the decision for us, though, was the staff interaction. On one pickup, an older woman who helped me was shockingly rude. When she brought my dog out, she handled him in a way that made me extremely uncomfortable: raising her voice, tugging harshly on his collar, and giving commands he was never trained to understand. Watching him shrink back and look terrified broke my heart. Over time, he began coming home withdrawn, low-energy, sick and just not his happy self. Almost every visit left us feeling uneasy, and it eventually became clear that this environment simply wasn't right for him or any dog. A former staff member who later met my partner even shared that the workplace was full of animosity and overworked employees, which unfortunately aligned with what we had observed. We've since switched to Rover as needed and have had a completely different experience: much happier dog, much better communication, and far less stress for everyone involved. There are countless options here in Seattle! I truly wish our experience at Metro Dog had been better, but for us it was consistently unpleasant. If you value your dog's comfort and emotional wellbeing, I'd recommend exploring other options.

She goes to Marymoor Park, swims, and otherwise has enough exercise and fun to chill for the rest of the day at home. I have had Luna for 4 years. I got her at a shelter when she was about a year old and for reasons I never understood, she would not willingly get into a car. I had to pick her up (all 80 pounds of her) and put her in the car, even after enticing her with treats and taking her only to doggie parks for play time. What is amazing is that after a a couple of months with Veronica, Luna gets into a car on her own now. That is testimony to one loving dog walker! If Luna were writing this review, it would be even more positive :)

Not knowing anyone utilizing a local dog walker, I turned to Yelp and picked the one with the most positive reviews. Veronica, Kevin and Shannon have been great so far. The first day they came to walk our guy when I wasn't home, he barked and was not interested in going anywhere with them. (Good thing/bad thing, I guess.) Shannon patiently waited, spent time with him, and gave him love. Veronica called me that afternoon to discuss. I'm not sure my kid's preschool is that on top of it. They've also been great about getting him enough exercise without overdoing it. Good people, dog lovers, professional.

She came across as friendly and knowledgeable so I took her word that she was license and bonded. I gave a key to my house and figured things would be all good. Was I WRONG. She has ALWAYS been available to pet sit, responds very quickly to texts and emails, and has been very attentive to our pets. On a recent, much longer trip out of the country, one of our cats escaped THE NIGHT BEFORE OUR 4 AM INTERNATIONAL FLIGHT. I told Melissa not to worry about trying to find him, but she went above and beyond, canvassing the neighbors, offering to make and post signs, leaving food and water out, searching for this darn escaped cat. She was very concerned and kept in touch with me via email the whole time. The cat DID come back (after we returned, and he was fine), but the point is, Melissa came through in a tough situation. I trust her and would (and have) recommended her!
