Several times after attending daycare, my dog came home with issues that later turned into infections. Each time required a vet visit that cost us over $600. While I understand that things can happen in group-care environments, having this happen several times was alarming. What ultimately made the decision for us, though, was the staff interaction. On one pickup, an older woman who helped me was shockingly rude. When she brought my dog out, she handled him in a way that made me extremely uncomfortable: raising her voice, tugging harshly on his collar, and giving commands he was never trained to understand. Watching him shrink back and look terrified broke my heart. Over time, he began coming home withdrawn, low-energy, sick and just not his happy self. Almost every visit left us feeling uneasy, and it eventually became clear that this environment simply wasn't right for him or any dog. A former staff member who later met my partner even shared that the workplace was full of animosity and overworked employees, which unfortunately aligned with what we had observed. We've since switched to Rover as needed and have had a completely different experience: much happier dog, much better communication, and far less stress for everyone involved. There are countless options here in Seattle! I truly wish our experience at Metro Dog had been better, but for us it was consistently unpleasant. If you value your dog's comfort and emotional wellbeing, I'd recommend exploring other options.

Every time I call Metro Dog they can find space for him in their day or overnight. Our boy is a big spaz. They have shared with us their strategies that keep him from going over the crazy line (30 minutes of play then Quiet kennel time). They also reinforce the good manners we are working hard to reinforce. Does it smell like a kennel. Yes. Is it loud. Yes. Is this life in the city? I think so. Thanks Metro dog!

He loves getting to see his dog friends once a week. Amanda also accommodates our ever changing schedules and if a work meeting occurs during pick up she will come into our apartment and get Henry! Henry gallops to her and squeaks with excitement every time she sees her letting me know he is so excited for his weekly adventure. The pups are out for 4-5 hours each time and extremely tired when they get back. This service has been a game changer for us.

Classes are so expensive. $275. For 5 classes of nose work (not private but with up to 8 people…read moreand their dogs taking turns in the training room one at a time). So approx. 15 mins instruction and training per dog. Class is 1.5 hrs. My roommate paid for the series of classes.. and unplanned she ended up in the hospital Emergency Room and had to have emergency orthopedic surgery. She texted and left a VM that she wouldn't be attending the classes the night before class started and asked to Be refunded the $275. They told her said NO to a refund.Too bad if you have an emergency. Our class isn't full and we couldn't fill the spot. But we will let you pay another $137.50 to sign up for another series in the future. So they kept the initial $275. And my roomie paid another 137.50 to be able to take said classes once she's all healed up and can walk again. They gave her a credit of 137.50 if she signed up to take the classes again. If she didn't there is no refund!! So that is 412.50 for 5 classes at approx 15min of ins time each week. So that ends up being a hour and 1/2 of instruction for 412.50. Holy Crap!! A huge rip off and absolutely crap business management for Dogs day out. Ok and my roomie has worked in the dog business in W Seattle for over 30 yrs and has referred dozens of dogs to this establishment over this years. She is going to take the classes that she paid 412.50 for so she isn't out the full amount she paid. But what a huge crock of doo doo. A poor business rule and my god she had to have emergency surgery. I know for a fact she will never refer another client to them or ever return to Dogs Day out for any classes herself. If I were her I'd also let my dog clients who she's referred to this biz about this if it comes up in convo. About this practise. Whatever happened to professional courtesy between biz owners in the same dog world. Or compassion when they end up having emergency surgery. I for one am really floored by this experience my roomie is going through!!!

In fact, one time, hiring a non professional resulted in a neglectful tragedy so I was quite nervous and decided to this time hire a professional pet/house sitter. I am so glad I did. She cared for my 95 pound dog, 4 cats and my not so friendly bird. Shannon is not just professional, she is warm and loving to my kids. She is smart and able to handle whatever situation comes up with problem solving and common sense. The kind of common sense that comes from knowing animals. She watched for signs of how they were all doing, stress levels, needs, everything. I got texts that made me laugh and made it clear that she was caring for them as if they were her own. Also, some of the other pet/house sitters I talked to stay from 7 in the evening to 7 in the morning. I prefer Shannon's flexible schedule so that she is in and out during the day as well as sleeping there. She brought her young son with her for the overnights and he is a delight. He loooooooves animals and my animals loved him. Him coming along gives you a twofer. I hope she is available the next time I need to go away so I can leave without the stress of wondering if my pets are safe and cared for. Thank you Shannon!

Much to my surprise, she responded to my e-mail right away and said she would love to meet Moose and me, and that she had availability - even though I was asking for Christmas week! Shannon is warm and caring toward dogs and to her customers. She treated Moose like a member of the family, and I had absolutely no concern about leaving him - despite his usual separation anxiety and having never boarded him in my year and a half of ownership - with Shannon and her family. She was quick to respond to a check-in e-mail, and when I picked Moose up, he was happy, healthy, and maybe even a little bit reluctant to leave! I'd highly recommend Dog In, Dog Out, and Shannon, and I'll be sure to come back when I go out of town again!

Pupper's has been a wonderful solution that once again allows us to leave our home. Oscar loves his Pupper's friends and drags me all the way down the ramp to get there - he doesn't even look at me when they take him back! The staff is friendly and communicative, the facilities are clean, and they offer lots of great add-ons like peanut butter Kongs and walks in the park. They send regular updates, sometimes even with pictures. We are so grateful to Pupper's for the ability to get out of the house without guilt - we know Oscar is having a great time!
