I am new to Georgian food in the USA in a sit down restaurant so this was my first time and it has a Michelin mention so I thought it was a good time to try it. I had no instructions. Menu was difficult to understand. I felt bad asking about every item but I asked about most. I like to know what I'm eating. Must try khinkali but it has a set of rules which I learned on my own by watching locals after my mess. You should take them from a plate with your hands, grab the dumpling by the top (called kudi), turn it around and sprinkle it with pepper. Then you carefully take a tiny bite into it, create a hole and suck the juice and only then start eating. The upper part is not for eating - they are discarded to the edge of the plate. I grabbed mine cut it in half got the juice all over and messed it up. No one told me it was a soup dumpling! Nothing like the Asian ones. This one is much larger and has a very delicious broth inside along with a meatball of two meats blended and green pepper. The Hot borscht was chunky, and was delicious once I added the sour cream. Without the sour cream it is a vegan soup. My last favorite was the eggplant rolls. They are served cold and are also vegan. They are filled with a walnut spread and topped with a few pomegranate seeds. Served with bread. I do not recommend the kebab. Too overcooked for me and they do not serve them medium. A few other things. They add a 10 percent service fee and a 3 percent credit card fee. The loss of a star was not due to the food but due to someone smoking in the kitchen and we were seated right near the kitchen and I enjoy my eating experience by smelling my food. I do not want to smell whatever you're smoking. It made me feel sick.

This place was the first time I got to try Georgian cuisine and I think I had a very great introductory experience. This little Brooklyn gem's interior is homely and cozy and so was the meal, a perfect way to describe Georgian cuisine. Hearty, warm, pleasant dishes that make you feel like you're eating a family dinner made by your Eastern European grandma in a cottage. We got the cheese bread, nothing crazy, basically another rendition of pizza, and the lamb soup to start, which I enjoyed quite well as it is a light broth base with warm spices and very nostalgic of Vietnamese chicken broth, only they used lamb to have a slightly gamier taste. For our mains, we opted for the waiter's recommendations for introductory Georgian dishes - homemade pork sausages, pan fried chicken with garlic butter sauce, and beef and pork soup dumplings. All the meat dishes were very comforting, filling, and not too heavy, but I personally liked the sausages the most, the soup dumplings next, and found the chicken a little too salty (but definitely juicy). These dishes didn't blow my mind but really do remind me of homely cooking - the preparation of these meats doesn't use excess ingredients to make you feel terrible. You feel good and fulfilled afterwards in a non bloated way. Finally, kudos to this place because I will be giving this a 5* on Yelp due to great hospitality, service, and $20 wine bottles. Yes, I'm not fucking kidding. $20 wine bottles. Don't walk, run here.

We were a party of 7 and everyone who had khinkali (4 of us) ended up with food poisoning and high fever the following day.

Okay Georgian food with beverages you'd commonly find in Georgia. Khinkali tasted spot on, but were poorly constructed :(

It was loud in the beginning , making it hard to converse or hear at the table, as speakers throughout the establishment were loudly transmitting the event with microphones that was happening in the front. Once that ended, we definitely enjoyed dinner more. Biggest highlights of the evening were drinks and service. Every drink we got was well balanced, flavorful and delicious, so kudos to the bartender! Our waiter and busboys were very attentive, friendly, and provided top notch service from start to finish. Dishes came out in timely manner and order, with restaurant service etiquette followed to a T. Food was good overall, fresh and well presented. Portion sizes are decent, everything priced according to location, quality and ambiance. Octopus was tender but didn't have any flavor and was outshined by delicious pesto & burrata in the salad, which was unfortunate as I was looking forward for it to be the start of the dish. Tartar could use more sauce (or salt) to tie all layers together. Bone marrow was delicious, definitely try a side of beef- it melts in the mouth and is a great addition. Duck vareniki was a bit small portion, with good filling/dough ration and the sauce was heavenly. Pizza crust was good but bland toppings made it uneventful. Steak and fish were cooked and seasoned to perfection, side salads were well seasoned and good pairings for protein. Desserts satisfied our sweet tooth after delicious dinner. Definitely will come back.

Georgian cuisine is making a nice comeback after a wonderful visit to this small Georgian…read morerestaurant in Sheepshead Bay. Everything is absolutely wonderful. From the generous portions, to the pretty waitresses, to the terrific food, down to the immaculate bathrooms, I have minimal complaints. The Khachapuri is spot on. A huge hunk of bread and cheese that if you follow me, know I have grown to love. I enjoyed eating every morsel of this. The Khinkali is a nice portion as you pay by the piece here. That is fine. I got six; three lamb and three pork and beef. Nicely filled, excellent explosion of flavor. I made a mess of these, but that is not their fault, that is all me. Georgian custom says you are supposed to save the tops so you can see how many you ate, but I know I ate all six. The sausage is nice and smoky with good flavor. A generous piece of meat wrapped around a flatbread. This is something I liked very much. Next time I will try a chicken dish as their chicken looks delightful. Did I just say I will be back? I am pretty sure I did. After all, where else can I find a good Cheeseboat less than 20 minutes away?

One of the best Georgian restaurants in Brooklyn!…read more We visited Sunny House for my uncle's birthday celebration in April 2025, and again for my own birthday in September. The first visit was a banquet letting us sample most of the menu. On the second visit, I completed the list. On both occasions the food was consistently fresh, full of flavor, and overall delicious. It's impressive how they maintain such a high quality across every dish - including dessert and even tea. A few dishes absolutely stood out: Khinkali (both beef and lamb), Megrelian Khachapuri, Adjaruli Khachapuri, Veal Stew (Chashashuli), and Baby Lamb Chops. The interior is warm and nicely decorated, creating a cozy ambiance. The table setup feels like a proper restaurant, rather than a casual café vibe usual for Georgian spots. The two dining rooms layout allows for some privacy if you host a party. There is nice live music on weekend evenings, but it's very loud. Even in the inner room with doors closed, the music makes it hard to hear each other. If quieter setting to talk and socialize is important - arrive before the music starts. Service is polite, friendly, and attentive, though it can lag during busy evenings. On non-banquet visit, the entrées arrived immediately after hot appetizers and khachapuri, leaving no time to enjoy the starters while they were still hot. Not sure why it's done that way, probably cultural norm. To have sufficient time to focus on appetizers explicitly ask the staff not to rush the entrees. I highly recommend Sunny House for its high-quality Georgian cuisine and beautiful, welcoming ambiance! Dishes tried Salads & Cold Starters Georgian salad with Burrata - good Georgian salad with Walnuts - good Gebzhalia - delicious! A new dish for me an interesting flavor combo. Eggplant rolls with walnuts - excellent! Assorted Pkhali - good. Satsivi - excellent! Flavorful, fresh, and perfectly textured sauce. Assorted Smoked Fish Khachapuri & Breads Imeruli Khachapuri - excellent, though the Megrelian was even better! Megrelian Khachapuri - one of the best I ever had! Fresh perfect dough generously filled with cheese inside and on top - truly delicious! Adjaruli Khachapuri - excellent dough and cheese filling! Only wish they put cheese inside the edges of the boat as well. Chvishtari (cornbread with cheese) - great. Fresh Georgian Bread - especially good with sauces like satsivi, shkmeruli, Megrelian Kharcho, Chashashuli. Hot Starters, Soups & Sides Lobio - warm and flavorful! Potatoes with Mushrooms - delicious! A simple dish elevated with garlic, grilled peppers, and fresh herbs. Grilled mushroom with sulguni cheese - good Fried Calamari - okay Soup Kharcho - well -balanced classic kharcho with generous amount of meat. The meat pieces could be larger and fattier for a juicier texture. Chakapuli - very good and flavorful. Served as a soup here though I've had it as a stew before. Mains & Grilled Dishes Khinkali with Beef / with Lamb - this was another hit! Certainly one of the best khinkali I've tried! Flavorful, well-textured, and full of juice.. Lamb version is quite spicy. Chicken Shkmeruli - very tasty. Megrelian Kharcho - excellent! Rich sauce with a bold Georgian spice blend. Same note on meat texture as the regular kharcho. Veal Stew (Chashashuli) - absolutely amazing! Tender veal that melts in your mouth. The sauce is a magical combo of veggies and Georgian spices creating a unique delicious flavor. I think it's one of the best dishes at Sunny House. Lamb Chops - outstanding! Juicy, full of flavor, and cooked perfectly. Mixed Grill platter (chicken kebab, pork kebab, baby lamb chops, lulya kebab in lavash with grilled peppers) - everything on the platter including grilled peppers was awesome and delicious! Grilled Trout with Grilled Vegetables - well-prepared and fresh. Dessert Napoleon Cake - very fresh and fluffy. The filling didn't resemble the classic buttery Napoleon, but still enjoyable.
