We came here due to a recommendation from a friend of mine, and I'm really happy that we did. We were immediately greeted upon entering and seated quickly. Our waiter was friendly very patient with us as we were scouring the menu to find what we wanted. The menu itself has a plethora of options that should fit anyone's palette. We started off with some cereal based shakes: the Cinnamon Toast Crunch and the Captain Crunch respectively. Both were very good; not overly sweet and had beautiful presentation. For our meal we decided to pig out and get the NY Style Cheesecake Pancake Tacos, the Bacon Egg and Cheese Quesadilla, and the Fried Chicken and Waffle. Everything was FANTASTIC! We absolutely loved the chicken and waffle, and the pancake tacos were much bigger than anticipated. Everything has balanced flavors and great portions. I wish was that the quesadilla came with a side of guacamole, but that didn't take away from the dish at all. Presentation was also excellent for all the dishes, and everything came out really fast. Overall everything was VERY good, and the prices were very fair. The waiter's service was also excellent. He was quick to help us when we needed it and did a great job overall. The restaurant was also very clean and looked very well maintained. The ambiance was cozy and comfortable. Overall this diner was a wonderful place to eat and we're sure to return back soon. I've been coming here with friends for the last 10 years and the food for the most part has been pretty good. We used to come at least once every 2 weeks because we loved the food but during the last few years the prices on many items have literally doubled. A good example are the chicken vodka tacos, they were $15.99 like 5 years ago now they're $28. Most wraps were $15-$16 now they're basically all over $23. I'd understand a bit of an increase but that much of in increase in 5 years is insane it's not like they were struggling. We would even drive up from the city but at this point it's just not worth it to come up here when we can spend less in the city. We started coming here less and less due to how expensive it is. Years ago the prices were very good now they're just ridiculous and it's honestly disgusting how money hungry the owners have gotten. The rise in food costs certainly doesn't justify them raising the prices this much. On a snow day, I was craving the decent breakfast so we decided to walk to the restaurant since they were still cleaning the snow. It was beautiful to walk,however, it turned out ot be a hard exercise. By the time we got to the restaurant, I was ready for my big breakfast and good coffee. I got what I wished for. I've heard rumblings about Mt. Kisco Diner for years, and for the longest time I couldn't understand why - most towns in Westchester had their own diner, what made this one so special? It was only after some research that I found out the diner has a huge social media following, owing at least partly to the creative foods they offer which really appeal to social media. I was off yesterday and looking for lunch, so I decided to take a drive up to Mt. Kisco to finally check out the diner for myself. MKD sits on Main St among multiple other businesses in Mt. Kisco. They have a large parking lot, and after walking in it totally made sense to have one since the space was large and the place was somewhat crowded. Despite this, there was no wait for a table. The decor is inoffensive - the aesthetics kinda have a diner feel but the finishes and materials are more upscale than that of a typical diner - mostly light earth tones with medium woods throughout. The menu is the star of MKD. On the surface, it has typical diner offerings: breakfast, sandwiches, salads, entrees, etc. When you dive deeper though, you'll find that there are a lot of creative, kind of outrageous offerings (in a good way). One glance at their Instagram page and you'll get an idea of what I'm talking about: deep-fried wraps filled with pasta and mozz sticks, over the top milkshakes, and plays on childhood foods that are incorporated into breakfast items. They even have a separate section called "Instagram Favorites" for all those super extra dishes. The first thing that popped out to me was a dedicated fries section, the vodka cheese fries looked good so we decided to start with those. I mean, what can I say bad about fries topped with melted mozz and vodka sauce? Well, potentially I could, but in this case the cheese was perfectly melted and their vodka sauce had good flavor. For my actual lunch I went with the Bronx Tale Wrap - this contained breaded chicken cutlet, pesto, mozz, and chopped bacon. The wrap was good - the flavors complemented each other, and the portion size was huge (no skimping on the chicken here). The wrap came with regular fries as default but I was able to substitute waffle fries which were good as well. Service was fast and friendly, and overall I had a good first experience at Mt. Kisco Diner. I can definitely see the draw to this place - the food is quality and the staff is friendly. I admittedly did not try some of their more Instagrammable dishes, but if I ever have some discretionary calories to spend I would definitely consider returning. We finally took the drive to try Mt Kisco diner. We had came around noon and it was like a 20 min wait which wasn't bad. It was typical diner food but the plates were huge, it would feed more than 1 person. We all had gotten a mixture of breakfast and lunch food. We first got an order of table nachos which were delicious! The only thing is that there was too many beans but everything on that plate is delicious. Also ordered the fried Mac n cheese balls and these were delicious as well, reminds me of Cheesecake Factory. The boys got wraps, the girls got the cannoli French toast, fruits pebbles French toast and a strawberry banana Nutella waffle with ice cream. Don't ask me why the girls got a sweet tooth lol. My boyfriend had gotten the buffalo chicken tacos with stuffed Mac n cheese. Sounds like a heart attack but it was soo delicious. We were stuffed to the Gods and satisfied. I really wanted to try this place for a while it's just a bit far from me (hour and half drive) but it was definitely worth the drive ! All the workers sweet and fast ! The chicken cutlet tacos with penne vodka were huge !!! It was 27$ but so much food I could only eat half ! Went here with one of my friends and my boyfriend when we were up in the area. I was so excited to try this place since I read so many great reviews but sadly it wasn't as good as I thought. I really enjoyed the godfather wrap and the drink that is why I gave it 3 stars. We ended up getting the Alfredo tacos that are wrapped in a chicken cutlet and it just did not taste like Alfredo should taste. The chicken cutlet was fine, but it was just overall a very bland taste. my boyfriend got the silver surfer because he loves cool ranch Doritos and I had a bite of that as well and there was just no flavor. I did not taste the Doritos at all and it was just a very underwhelming sandwich. The service was great and the place looked to be very busy. We have been coming to the diner for 20 plus years. The food is great and we have known some of the servers since my kids were little. As some have said it's gotten pricey, but as I've noted in other reviews that's just the cost of eating out anywhere these days; I don't blame the restaurant owners for having to increase prices to keep up with inflation. On this visit my son and I ordered our wraps off the instagram account and his munchie wrap was really good. I don't like the short rib crunch wrap as much because it needed a sauce to spice it up a little. When I had the second half as leftovers at home I used some hot honey and it made it much better. I've also decided it isn't necessary to get the deep fried wraps - I think they're better as just regular old wraps. Something about the crunchy coating and the extra grease it just isn't needed. I don't have pics but I love their pasta dishes - my go to is chicken Francese with linguine and steamed veggies. Had a family brunch here on a Saturday around 11:30am. They have a big parking lot in the back which was full save 2 spots. I thought this would be a harbinger of a negative experience but I was wrong. Only half of the seven of us were there and I told the host. He told me to let him know when everyone arrived. I heard smaller parties saying that they were told a twenty minute wait. When everyone arrived, I expected a long wait, but we were seated immediately. It's your typical diner setup with a bar seating area, tables, and a few booths. On either end, they have fixed seats that can be used to accommodate large groups easily. Our group of 7 took up half of one, so i think it could accomadate about 18 people with no problem. The menu is HUGE. If you are the type to read everything, I suggest going on their website beforehand. There is a great mix of traditional diner food and their own creations called "Instagram favorites". Found this place on Instagram and now we make a point of going out of our way when we go upstate to go here. The chicken cutlets tacos are what drew me in. We got these our first time here. We got the alfredo and penne ones. So much food. We could share one set of tacos. The alfredo ones were by far our favorite. We tried the Thanksgiving fries and they are another fav with roasted marshmallows on top. The Truffle fries are a good second and come as an uncharge with a lot of the meals. Our next trip, we tried some sandwich/burritos. I got the chicken caesar and my fiance fot the fried burrito with chicken alfredo inside. The chicken here is cooked perfectly. There is handicap parking and a ramp for wheelchair access. The diner was very clean. Staff was very friendly and attentive. The food was exactly as described in menu. My father was very pleasantly surprised at how good his burger was including the tomato on it . He immediately took the tomato off - I said try it at least first! He loved it. We recently ordered delivery from the most famous restaurant in my town. I wanted partake in a lil naughty and a lil nice and I was very impressed by the vegetarian and more specifically, the bowl section of their menu. For my nice, I ordered their Good Earth Bowl with farro and tri color quinoa, lentils, roasted beets, roasted carrots, and kale topped with "white balsamic drizzle". For our naughty, GF took the reigns and ordered the doritos mac n cheese and green bean fries. For herself, she ordered chicken matzoh ball soup. I will start with the green bean fries which were VERY good and did not even need any ketchup or anything because they were so tasty all on their own. I am a certified condiments bitch so that says a lot coming from me. The doritos mac and cheese was also pretty good but it was essentially mac and cheese with crushed doritos on top. There was no discernible dorito flavor in the actual mac and cheese itself. This was extremely heavy and definitely took at least a few hours off of my life. I enjoyed the grain bowl. It was gigantic and literally provided me with 3 separate meals. The reason for the 3 stars is because I think the main reason the food was "so good" is because it was very heavily salted. It was TOO salty. I noticed this especially during the leftover period, when the novelty has worn off, and it was almost inedible. I don't think I will be ordering from here again. As you drank, the inside walls of the cup were covered up and loaded with Nutella. It was absolutely amazing and that brownie on top did it for me! This place is crack. Service is mediocre and just ok, but the food makes up for it. Do I expect the best tasting food? No. But every dish is tasty in its own right. Just simple homemade classics dressed up on a fancy place with oversized diner portions. It's a play on traditional diner meets creativity. All the different ginormous shakes are worth the calories, it's definitely Instagram worthy. This place is for the gram type of place. The penne in chicken tacos is a good simple vodka chicken penne reversed into a creative display. Taste wise though... the top dish would be the short ribs because the gravy is very basic and so tasty. And the wings -- I would just order wings! I just ate at Mount Kisco diner, and I had one of the worst experiences from a waitress named Marilou. There were four incidents in particular. First off my son has an allergy to nuts and she was very rude in explaining that because they were busy they couldn't make his pancakes on a separate griddle to avoid nut contamination. The second incident was, I did not want fries as my side with my sandwich and I asked if there were something else that I could get as a side and she abruptly said no!. It's a diner. They have 1 million other choices they could've offered even if there was a surcharge for a vegetable. The third incident was I was I didn't like my sandwich that I ordered initially and changed it to a different sandwich, she charged me for both sandwiches. The final unfortunate encounter was I left her a nice tip and she walked over to the table looked at the tip and didn't even say thank you. I paid cash so that I wouldn't see the Mount Kisco charge on my credit card statement and have to relive this encounter. Personally, I would never go back to this establishment. I've been following this diner on instagram for years and all their specialties look so good but I live so far. But lately, I've been in the area on a weekly basis so I decided to see if this food was really good or just hype. I practically burned my mouth on it. Service was excellent. I walked in and told them my name and it was waiting for me. When I ordered it said estimated time to be done was 15 min. I was there around then and it was ready and piping hot. The ambiance inside is that of a typical diner. It looked clean but I can't comment much as I did takeout. I will be ordering another Instagram specialty soon. They have a section on their menu for this. I recommend this place with 5+ stars for quality of food and takeout service.
