Thick heavy crust
Julian E.

I got to be honest, this is not going to be a good review. I ordered a half chicken (unseasoned), fries, red beans and rice, and two tenders with one being medium and the other hot. The tenders had a heavy crust but the seasonings did have some flavor to it and the heat level was nice and hot. The red beans and rice were not what I expected. The rice was mushy and the beans had no flavor even after adding salt. The bone in half chicken had a thick heavy hard crust and actually cut my upper palate. The meat was dry and had no penetration of any brine or seasoning. The skin off the thigh had no discernible flavor but might have been due to being overcooked, I couldn't even eat the leg. The fries came seasoned but really had little flavor and were bland. I had high hopes for this place but only threw most the food away and left sad for the business.

We stumbled onto this place after we decided Raising Canes want enough on the way. Am i glad we did?? Yes! The tenders with the Hot sauce were the perfect blend of hot and flavorful! Their texture was unlike anything that I've had before, in a good way. The service here was adequate, nothing much stood out. This had a cute old school ambiance on the inside. Two constructive critiques I'd offer. First, they advertised macaroni and cheese (on a dry erase board) that they had ... run out of. Second, they gotta get some ramps up to their doors to make their entrances less of a trip hazard.

Didn't know what to expect but was very pleasantly surprised!! The food was 10/10 delicious & the service was amazing. They went beyond to come outside where I sat and ask how everything was, refill drinks and gave a dessert on the house!! I got the chicken sandwich medium spice & loved it! Will definitely be going back there

Chicken tenders - Habanero level

What a gut bomb! I drive by this place often and decided to try it. Appearance and staff: building is cute and well decorated. The girl at the front was very friendly and offered suggestions. Food: We had chicken tender bricks deep fried and then saturated in spice oil to make them hot. The outside was very crisp with a thick shell of bread. They use heat oil to spice but seemingly no rub or other flavors. It was very long John silvers reminiscent minus salt. The koolaid was tasty but very sweet Banana pudding was overcooked and super sugary but decent flavor however very sweet The French fries were indeed the best thing we ate and we didn't eat them all. Bbq sauce is VERY sweet. After recovering from newly found diabetic shock, we tried the baked potato salad... which is cold baked potato with stuff... but it's all cold so there is no flavor. Much like eating cold butter. Note: They own Frasers bbq nearby... which we will not be trying based on this experience of food. Price: 2 puddings, a drink, tender meal and kids meal was $40+ which would be fine if it actually tasted like Nashville. This is not Hattie B's! That's certain.

This is the first time I've had Nashville hot chicken tenders and they were very good. It had a very ASMR crunch to it. The breading was thin, but not in a bad way. The inside of the restaurant is pretty small. They do have a front patio that is quite adorable. The staff was amazing 10 out of 10. I will 100% come back when I'm on this side of town. The only thing I wish I could could've had is more napkins to blot off the oils. They did have a little kit with a fork and a knife and a napkin, but it was only one and I need a little more than that. I looked around and didn't see any. I just wish there was napkins at the table.

If you're looking for a good Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich, this is the place to go. We've been here a couple of times now and we'll be back. On this visit we got 3 sandwiches. 2 medium heat and 1 mild heat. They also have chicken breasts, thighs, wings, chicken wings and tenders. The sandwiches we got were full of flavor and just the right amount of heat for us. My oldest wants to try the hot on our next visit. I was surprised how big the piece of chicken was. To top it off, you get a side of yummy seasoned fries. We didn't leave a fry behind. Lol. My kids love that they had Kool Aid. We ate our food there and we were the only ones there on a Tuesday evening. It was very busy for take out orders though. They have a small inside dining area and a nice big outdoor dining area. If you like spicy chicken sandwiches, you have to try this place!

Very consistent and very good! I usually get the half bird with medium heat. Dipping in ranch and their orange sauce is great!

They noticed that I had accidentally overpaid and came to me to issue a refund, without me even realizing it! They still made my exact same meal with no issues at all. That level of honesty and care is rare. To make the experience even more special, it was my son's birthday. The manager noticed he had a Super Mario plushie and went out of their way to bring him crayons and coloring paper featuring the same character. It completely made my son's day Great food, kind and attentive staff, and genuine care for their customers. Fly Bye doesn't just serve incredible pizza and wings, they deliver the best customer service ever. I have never had such great experience in a restaurant to the point I can't wait to go home and write this review!!! Definitely recommend to everyone!

Tried Fly Bye on Camelback and I'll just say it: this was a classic "great deal, a couple tweaks…read moreaway from greatness" situation. I called in my order at 11:20am and got quoted 25-30 minutes for the lunch special. It was ready right around that window, which immediately put me in a good mood because nothing ruins lunch faster than staring at a pickup counter like it owes you money. The guy behind the counter was friendly and even tossed in a sample of 'copy cane' sauce for me to try on my sandwich. I ordered the lunch special (pepperoni pizza slice + Caesar salad, no drink) and added the chicken sandwich with fries. (Fries were only $1 add on!) Starting with the chicken, flavor was solid. Chicken was seasoned and the hoagie was legit. But the lettuce comes ranch-tossed like it's training for a swimming event. It tastes good but if you wait too long to eat it, the bread starts turning into a sponge and the sandwich becomes more "salad in loaf form." The Cane's-clone sauce was 100% needed--once I added it, everything clicked. Now the fries were cooked well done, crispy, and exactly the texture I like. They were just a touch dry, so ketchup wasn't a suggestion--it was a requirement. With ketchup, they're great. The real value winner was the pizza + ceasar. The slice is big and absolutely worth the $10 on size alone. Also: A+ pepperoni choice. They use those small cupping pepperonis (Grimaldi's style) instead of the big greasy ones, and I respect that decision deeply. Only downside: the center was slightly undercooked--that gooey middle happened on a few bites, and I'm not a "wet pizza" person. The salad was fresh and the dressing had great flavor and depth, the croutons felt home made and the whole situation, even portion size, was enjoyable. Would I come back? Yeah. I'd give it another shot because the bones are good and the price is right. Next time I'm ordering the sandwich no tomato and no ranch-tossed lettuce, so I can control the sauce per bite instead of letting it control me. Also worth noting: I signed up for their rewards program and got $10 off, bringing my total to $15--which made this whole lunch feel like a small financial victory with gas at $5 a gallon!

I didn't even need hot sauce... although obviously I still used hot sauce because I believe in excess and poor decision making. The greens surprised me... sweeter and somehow creamier than what I'm used to, but honestly not creamy and decent. The slaw was solid too, also leaning a little sweet for my taste. The potato salad was decent too, just a smaller portion than I was expecting. Flavor-wise it was different from how I make mine since I lean more savory with mayo and onion, but clearly it wasn't a problem because I devoured the entire meal. Now for the comedy portion of the evening: delivery. I ordered through Yelp, which directed me to Gus's site, which routes through a third-party delivery service. I won't actually use delivery apps that require signups and accounts and seventeen forms of human surrender, so I felt like I was doing the "direct" route even though I know better. The ENTIRE reason I ordered delivery was because I wanted a drink that wasn't water from my sink. Driver arrives. Hands me one bag. Me: "And the drink?" Driver to passenger: "Babe, they didn't give you a drink?" And in that moment, as a former delivery driver myself, my soul briefly left my body because... ma'am... the order is literally visible to you. The drink is WRITTEN ON THE BAG. I almost gave an extra $5 cash tip too. Almost. BUT! and this is why Gus's still gets 5 stars, I called the restaurant and the guy who handled the situation was awesome. Kind, attentive, apologetic, immediately refunded the drink, and handled it professionally. Then I took my first bite of chicken and literally interrupted myself to say, "Okay but the food is phenomenal though." Because it was. He laughed, apologized again for the delivery issue, and said, "Hope to see you in." Yes. YES you will. Because from now on I will absolutely be eating this food the correct way: by going there myself like the universe intended. Third-party delivery chaos remains undefeated. I would absolutely destroy another plate while angrily sipping water, 1000%.

Before you realize think that the Hormuz strait is causing a ranch uproar, you'll walk inside one of these places and be forced to go order at the counter. Then you'll wait 20+ minutes sitting there wasting time. Sneakybird is missing the point of a restaurant, give me servers, give me drink options, try to offer me anything delicious while I sit there for 20 minutes and take my money. If you're not going to be a real restaurant then just skip the rent and go ghost kitchen. MAYBE if they learned the business model of a restaurant they wouldn't need to 10x us on ranch dressing.
