"This is not Nashville hot chicken," were the first words out of my mouth after taking my first bite. I'm a big fan of fried chicken, hot chicken, and Frasher's BBQ. I was excited about this place for a year in the making until it finally opened this week. The place has "Nashville Hot Chicken" on the sign but this is Southern fried chicken with buffalo sauce. I don't know what to think here--do they not know what Nashville hot chicken is or did they just intentionally name this place incorrectly? It's all very perplexing. As Southern fried chicken the breading and cook were spot on. The wife and I ordered some plain and some hot. There was a lack of seasoning evident on the plain. The hot just tasted like Buffalo style hot sauce and meat. Not what I wanted. Sides were fine but really beside the point here. I probably would have been perfectly happy if this was just labeled as "Southern Fried Chicken" with the option of smothering it in hot sauce. But it's not what I ordered. read more

We stopped at Mrs. Chicken, a restaurant that just opened a couple of months ago that is located on 32st and Fairmount, which is just south of Indian school rd. The food was delicious and the staff and owner were very professional and friendly. My wife had chicken and potato salad and I had the chicken sandwich with fries. We both had the mild sauce and it was just right, flavorful and made you sweat a little, but did not burn the crap out of your mouth. We will be back and will become regulars. Well it finally opened. George Frashers Mrs Chicken his version of Nashville Hot Chicken. This new concept is sweeping the nation like a storm. So my crew and I made the drive to sample this new firebrand of Chicken. Here is what we found. The place was packed. Standing room only. Everything cooked to order so be prepared to wait a bit. (Not that long). The fare was true to Frashers other venues It was Fantastic. George has done it again. Check out the Red Beans & Rice, a meal to itself. Like Collard Greens, you'll love these. Great hot chicken sandwich! You can choose the hotness level and I chose the spicy which was...very spicy! Loved the slaw they put on the sandwich which is a mustard slaw. The french fries were delicious as well. Overall a very substantial chicken sandwhich with all the right flavors. read more

Had lunch with Mrs Chicken yesterday, and it was quite a treat! Clean, welcoming restaurant, tasty, well prepared food and super friendly staff made it a place that will stay on my list. The sauce is HOT, so be aware. I had the medium, and can fully imagine that the hottest of the sauces would "burn your face off". I had the sandwich which was a tasty mess. Definitely not a social meal. I'm not a fan of the Buffalo Sauce, but the rest of the sandwich and the baked potato salad were worth the trip. read more

Wow, chicken was soooo good (and juicy)! It's made to order and it comes out HOT! The staff was so friendly and they're doing a great job of catering to the guests. I only gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because I'm not a crinkle cut fry kind of gal (too mushy on the inside for me) but the fry seasoning was delicious! We'll definitely be back again! read more

I was dying for fried chicken and found this place. Recently opened in the same location where Mexican restaurant used to be. Inside: clean, and simple. Food: never had Nashville chicken but I know when I taste good sauce and good chicken. I would give a 4 star for the size and portion for the price of what you get. I got the wings with medium sauce and a side of rice and beans. The wings were good size instead of tiny little piece of meat. And medium sauce was just perfect for what I was craving for; just a tad bit of kick instead of sweating and regretting after wards. I didn't care too much for the rice and beans. It was somewhat bland. My husband had the chicken tenders and fries. The fries were good with the special spicy aioli sauce we got on the side. Overall, it served my cravings of wanting spicy fried chicken but I wasn't wowed. Great customer service and good food. I would come back for sure but not sure if I'll be a regular here. read more

I was really hoping for this place to be good, but there were just too many things that missed the mark. The sides were bland and (from the dates marked on the containers) appeared to be on their last day of good shelf life (they tasted as such, too). The chicken was soggy, not crisp at all. Not much flavor or good texture in anything that we ate. They did a great job on remodeling the building, but it looked like they ran out of money (as the seating inside was regular white folding tables with what looked like dining chairs from some Grandma's garage sale). The staff was polite, but one of the team members behind the counter in full view of customers was texting on her phone the whole time I was there (which was probably about 15 minutes). This same woman was noisily slurping down a Sonic drink. Her behavior just presented the whole business in a very unprofessional manner. read more

My fiancée and I tried the sandwich and breast and a quarter. Both delicious in their own right, but I think I could do with slightly less oil on the bone-in pieces. I know it is part of the recipe, just seemed slightly too dredged and was pooling on her plate. Flavor is absolutely on point. We both had XXHot- their moniker for ghost pepper level spice. Every bit as spicy as it sounds, and the sweats were clearly evident - much to the delight of the couple next to us who ordered no spice. Based on my experience with XXHot, I really don't think I need to try the XXXHot (Carolina reaper), but who are we kidding...I probably will. Gotta live. I personally liked the thick and crisp breading. The chicken meat was juicy and very flavorful. Saw this restaurant on Yelp then drove by it today and was super excited it was so close to me. I decided to stop in today(as I'm STARVING!!!) I decided to go with the medium chicken sandwich with the cold baked potato salad and I'm SUPER excited!!! Everyone was SO nice!! So nice!! They totally made me feel at home and welcomed. The girl at the register is so sweet and amazing!! Who doesn't like a free cold cup of Kool-aid while waiting for their food?? Update: The sandwich (while a bit messy) was amazing!! The coleslaw, the heat of the sauce on the chicken(spicy! My mouth is still feeling it, but in a good way.) - the flavors are such a great combo!! This place helped curb my craving of Nashville hot chicken which I miss so much. The service was excellent - both the girl at the front and the chef were genuinely welcoming and attentive. Nice homey mom-pop kitchen feel with southern hospitality. The breading on the chicken had a nice crunch, so I am not sure what the other reviewers meant by needing more time in the fryer. Maybe they listened to the reviews and made adjustments. I respect that. Chicken was juicy. The heat levels were accurate and I didn't notice the franks/buffalo flavor that I read about. I was so excited to come here because there isn't a sandwich /chicken restaurant that is solely dedicated to Nashville Hot Chicken. I went today, with my wife and 6 week old baby. It was 113 degrees out, and it felt slightly cooler inside the restaurant. I know extreme heat can take a toll on an HVAC system but it was downright hot in the restaurant. We asked the staff to turn it down but it didn't seem to help. Me, my wife, and baby were all deep in sweat (And not from the hot chicken). I spent $35, at the very least, I expect to be comfortable while eating. My wife went to the car early as my baby was damp from sweat, so I hurried up and left. The chicken itself is OK. I'd probably give it a 3.5/5. Certainly not bad but not what I'd consider "Nashville Hot". It felt more like a buffalo sauce vs a Nashville Hot as it didn't have the smoky flavor I was expecting. The potato salad was very cold (Not sure if that was intentional), but didn't have much flavor as it didn't have butter. Personally, I've never seen a potato dish without it. My wife's chicken tenders were decent, but it reminded me of a buffalo chicken tender that I could have got at Red Robin or Chili's. I was extremely excited for the Gooey Butter Cake, but the portion was so small (2 in by 2 in) that I'm if sure it's worth the $4. Walmart sells a slice twice the size for half the cost. Went in for lunch today LOVED it! The atmosphere is nice and bright, very clean. The girl at the counter gave us a rundown of the menu and spice levels since it was our first time. We both got the yardbyrd sandwich with fries and collard greens. I also got a koolaid and my bf got a sweet tea. The collard greens were decent and the fries were really good with a bbq rub on them. They had a couple of dipping sauces to choose from which was nice. The sandwiches were delicious and hit the spot! They were so juicy and tender and crispy on the outside. I have been seeing some Instagram posts for this restaurant and decided I would give it a try since I was on that side of town. We'll start with the ordering process. The staff was extremely friendly. I walked into the restaurant a little before noon on a Friday. The restaurant was very full. I ordered a two piece breast meal. And oversized chicken breast in a wing on a slice of white bread and one side. My order total was $9.77 including tax. The inside of the restaurant is a little on the small side but very clean. There's a oversized patio in front of the restaurant. My only complaint is it did seem to take a little while for my order to be cooking give into me. I think that could be corrected very easily if there would be some kind of ability to order your meal through Yelp. The chicken was perfectly cooked I got the mild Nashville sauce. Just the right amount of heat without being overly hot. My side was the baked potato salad and it was delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely return. I live for spicy food so naturally this place peaked my interest. I finally pulled the trigger and ordered dinner. The portions are gigantic so if you think you need two entrees think twice. The baked potato salad is delicious! The mustard slaw is different but works on the sandwich. The chicken fingers were for my 9 year old kiddo and it took everything for me not to eat them. Delicious. The only item that I was bummed about not being what I expected was the red beans and rice. I have no doubt others would enjoy it, I unfortunately did not. All and all we will go back! I have been looking for a hot chicken place to love. This is the place!! Nothing fancy and the parking lot is small BUT this place has the BOMB food. You can pick the heat level of your chicken. And every time I have been disappointed. I really try and support local restaurants. Every time I'm like maybe it was an off day I'll give them another try. But the level of bad food is just bad. Sometimes I get soggy chicken. Sometimes I get burnt chicken. My biggest complaint is the lack of seasoning. Is it really that hard to Season the chicken and the breading ? I hate to say it.
