Hands down the best Shrimp Diabla burrito I've ever had. Darn near the best burrito! Size was good, full of shrim from top to bottom, and one of the spiciest sauces I've had. Typically I'm slamming extra hotsauce on there to get a little spice, but this one had my hair sweating. Had a crunchy shredded beef taco too. Very large, juice beef. I remember this place having amazing food, great atmosphere, tasty salsa options, and sizable portions. I have recommended it many times previously. Due to my recent experience I recommend against going here. I purchased a few burritos of different meats. The items took a bit longer than anticipated since they didn't seem too busy and we had take out orders. Unfortunately a family member and I got upset stomach and loose stools the evening of and morning after eating our burritos. I do not know for sure if it was the food consumed here that cause these reactions. Though a couple other family members that did not eat their burritos yet did not get sick with similar other foods eaten in the day. Over all this place isn't bad. Haven't been in literally in years so I thought I'd revisit and take my husband since he's never been. The last time I came here before the pandemic I actually wasn't happy with it because my sister and I were being trashed talked by the girls behind the counter because they thought we didn't speak Spanish... but we understand a speak some especially bad words because my family didn't have the healthiest family dynamic. Anyway, husband and I went with our daughter. The process is still the same, you stand in line order food, and take the number to a table and wait for them to bring it out. I think prices are ridiculous still for some things. For example, you will see in my photo of my carnita taco, that thing was $5 and my daughters asada taco with nothing in it and fries was $12. The descriptions on the menu can be updated and changed a bit, because my husband got the surf and turf burrito and there was things in the burrito that were listed on the menu like green and red pepper and a few other things he said but I forgot. Next, I asked if they could give us a water cup for my daughter with a lid, they said no water cups don't get lids... I said okay... and just held the water for my daughter as she drank it because she's only 2 and doesn't know how to drink out a normal cup yet. We took a seat outside and the music and vibe is great, it's just a bit too loud. I couldn't hear anything my husband was saying and he was sitting right next to me, and it wasn't even karaoke night. Once our food got there the portion sizes were great I think, but the quality is just okay. My tacos weren't crunchy or super soft, it was the hard type of chewy and I couldn't eat them that well. My daughter normally loves asada and fries but she opted for a bowl of mangos instead which was like $10. Then my husband said he's burrito was okay but because of the extra ingredients that weren't labeled he didn't get to enjoy it because he kept having to dig through and find "new" things in it. Once we left we asked for to go boxes because we couldn't finish. They told us we could only get three even though we had 5 things. Also, you need to pay for chips and salsa now. Not a lot i things it's only a dollar a person but still... we shouldn't need to pay for salsa and toppings for our tacos and burritos. Chips I understand. Once we got home, our family actually asked where we went and I told them Mr. Taco and they explained what happened to them when they went and after hearing that... I may not go back... let's just say just because we're light skinned doesn't mean we don't speak Spanish and or like Mexican food and know the differences between meats and toppings. I might go back again to try something different but maybe next time I'll go with just my husband and my other family members to see if they will try to give us things we didn't order or say rude and disrespectful things in Spanish. read more

I had high hopes for this to be our go to taco joint because it seems so many people were enjoying it. I ordered a beef taco and an enchilada. The roast in the beef taco was tender but completely flavorless. The red sauce on the enchilada was sweet. I do not care for that flavor profile on my enchilada. Two salsas were brought to the table, a red and a green, the red was fine but the green was watery and again lacked any flavor. The margarita was very bland as well. The hubs said his quesadilla was fine but nothing to write home about. The service was very slow, despite it not being completely full in there. It took forever to just get some water . Water is what you bring out with the chips, am I right? No one wants to try to eat chips and salsa without some water. The waiter passed by our table so many times without getting our order. Next, the ambiance: so loud. If it's done right it's fun, this was just loud, so loud the singer couldn't stay on pitch, ouch my bleeding ears. I now know the answer to: "Where's the beef?": it's in this burrito. Mr Taco makes a very big burrito. There is ample parking, and you can enter from Alabama southbound only or Industrial Parkway on the Northside. There are 2 patios: on the street against Alabama they play music that covers the street noise and in the back they don't play music. The inside fairly functional: check out my salsa bar pic. I like the variety of items you can choose to enhance the flavors. Everything seemed to be fresh. Today we started with our usual hard shell chicken taco. It was a good, thick, crisp hard shell that wasn't greasy. The shredded chicken was moist and had some flavor, in and of, itself. The lettuce was crisp but the cheese was a bit dry. The salsa helped the flavor here. The salsa was a bit hot for us, and overpowered any vegetable flavor the salsa might have had. We used the salsa sparingly. The quality of the shredded beef was great! They should have been sold by the pound! The shredded beef was more like a Mexican flavored pot roast: it was moist, rich, tender and ample. The accompanying rice and beans were okay, but acted as a great carrier for the beef. The onions had a mild flavor but added the needed crunch to the otherwise texture. just bought posole and found multiple 3 to 4 inch bones in my soup , I understand a small piece or two but I have multiple inch long bone served in my soup after they already charged me twice for what I ordered is ridiculous . And when I try to call the restaurant, they don't answer their phone. Good Mexican food in Redlands. If you're local to Redlands, you know that this place is very popular and gets packed. The prices are fair because the portions are big. This place was just okay to me. It was my first time there and I ordered menudo because it was cold out. They have a salsa bar with chips you can snack on while waiting for you food so that was nice. The environment was loud with music blasting. It had siren type sounds which was off putting. The food came out and my menudo was flavorful and there was steam coming off of it which was misleading and still confusing to me because the soup was just above room temperature. You have to go to the bar to pick up drinks and there was no one there initially. The margarita was just okay to me. It was sugary and I didn't taste any alcohol which some people like but I prefer to taste it at least a little so that I know there's alcohol in there lol. We've learned that the food prices have doubled. The drink prices have doubled and we're not very happy about that. For two beers Michelada style, and one with just Tajin on the rim. Has costed us $58. They don't give you the big plastic cups anymore. This place was a bit disappointing because of how busy it was. The appearance of people outside was only because there were about 4-5 tables inside. My husband had a Carne Asada Burrito and I had a combination plate with a taquito and chile relleno with a small carne asada taco. Nothing we had was anything beyond decent. I scheduled a family lunch at Mr. Taco. I was expecting for a taco that was absolutely divine based on the reviews and the name, being "Mr. Taco". But instead, I got fed some serious slop that made my large intestine go berserk when I arrived home. They put the Amazon rain forest on top of my dish and sprinkled it with uncooked rice and tons of salt, which made my heart work overtime and gave my wife and kids a panic attack. As I arrive home, I feel a sudden rumbling sensation in my stomach and rushed to the toilet. As I am pulling my pants down and before I sit down I squirt mud out all over the walls and ceiling, everywhere but the toilet like if I set my chocolate starfish on jet mode. I really liked this spot, but some of the changes have driven me away. The food is well prepared. The little changes have made a big difference to me and my coworkers. 1. Fish tacos are kind of subpar. (Kind of stingy with the fish) instead of the portion they used to have it is like they are using fish nuggets so you can bite into your taco without tasting a bite of fish. 2. I have seen this place for years and finally stopped for a breakfast burrito cause two of my regular spots were closed randomly. Got two breakfast burritos. They have a salsa bar which is great and the salsas were pretty good. However, I got halfway through my burrito and bit into the crunchy tails of some shrimp. Not even a whole shrimp, but the part of the shrimp your clean off and throw away. I absolutely hate shrimp but if it was the part of shrimp you actually wanted to eat that would be one thing, this is the part of the shrimp you throw out. This is not a family restaurant it's more of a bar scene for adults to sit outside and enjoy drinks while listening to live music or watching what is available on their TV's.
