If you're an underage college student and want to drink, be sure to go the Clifton location. I won't name the name of the server, because, duh. I'm almost 20 and I asked for a Shirley Temple. Without hesitation, he asked me if I wanted an alcoholic Shirley Temple. 1) A Shirley Temple is a non-alcoholic beverage, so... unless I specifically requested alcohol in my non-alcoholic drink he shouldn't have made such an offer. 2) The Clifton restaurant is located in the heart of a college town, so he shouldn't have been offering *anyone* alcohol. 3) I'm short, small, Asian--and I'm 19. I often get confused for being in high school. I get carded for R-rated movies. He shouldn't have just offered me alcohol like I was some obvious 50 year old woman. Five stars. Awful, I hope the owner/GM sees this review and realizes that I have only given out one other one star review. The sushi is ok , nothing too special or out of the ordinary but the price is a little high. This is all I have to say that is well because the rest is awful. THE SERVICE IS TERRIBLE. It took us 20 minutes to get just water once we seated. Then another 15 minutes to get our order. The waiter mediocre at best. He had trouble determining who had what order. Furthermore we spilled decent amount of beer on me (1/5 of a pint )and didn't apologize.... He joked it off and said it will dry off to make matters worse he didn't even refill the beer that I am now wearing. The place was busy so I cannot put the blame all on him. Normally people would think I am pretty spoiled when it comes to sushi coming from the West Coast (I mention that in many of my reviews, sorry if it annoys most of you) but honestly I am pretty easy to please when it comes to sushi because even where I'm from where we supposedly have access to the best sushi in the country, I was not willing to pay that much money for some top grade sushi and have even resorted to eating the cheaper stuff. (It's not like I can afford to pay a premium on the freshest and best cuts of sushi even if such places were close to me since I'm living on a grad school stipend) All I really wanted was some decent tasting sushi that won't make you sick from a place that caters to the college environment, and is also friendly on a student's wallet. This place pretty much met my expectations, so I can't really leave a bad review for this place. This place is excellent. The alcohol flows and is cheap. The food is amazing and also half price. You must get the kang jeong or Sunday morning roll. The workers and managers are excellent and the manager Peter is a real Korean badass. Even the bartender Mitch is a true American. Go there whenever we happen to go to the Christ hospital as it is just a few minutes away, parking is often quite a chore, but the sushi, and seaweed salad is well worth it. Our first visit to Mr Sushi was during an overnight stay and very enjoyable. The service and food were great. But most memorable was the courteous response I got when I realized I had left my credit card at the restaurant. I called from the road the next day. This is the worst sushi I have ever eaten (and I could not eat half of it: If "no stars" was an option that would be my rating). I ordered takeout: the ikura (salmon roe) was red caviar, not salmon roe (large eggs). The avocado roll had a metallic taste, the shrimp was anything but fresh. The presentation was sloppy. If you have tasted even average sushi you will be disappointed. I have never written a restaurant review but feel it would be unethical not to do so in this case. Sorry Mr Sushi. We should have turned around when we saw the suspicious looking puddle on the floor of the entrance and crushed food on the floor as well. There were two hostesses chatting with each other, that didn't seem to notice the mess on the floor. The appetizer was good but the sushi and soup were beyond questionable. The sushi was terrible. People that had come up to the bar to get a drink after we had gotten a table, finished eating, and were paying before leaving and we still did not have our food. We were looking for a while to find a sushi joint to replace another restaurant-that-shall-not-be-named that had gone downhill. We happened to come here because it's close to work, but we were seriously impressed by the sushi! I would never claim to have any extensive palette for sushi, but this place was great by my standards. The fish was all fresh, and the variety of flavors used (especially the sriracha sauce) really added a nice kick. We had the BBQ, Air Force, Bengal's, and Sunday Morning, and they were all spectacular. The sushi menu was HUGE, so we will definitely be coming back to try more rolls. I have a been a loyal customer at Mr. Sushi in Clifton since they opened and I have had nothing but good service, amazing food and fun times in all the years I've been going. However, my friend and I went in for dinner tonight and had a negative experience. Everything was going well, we were more than pleased with our food and drinks, we had an awesome waitress (Moon was very sweet and accommodating. She even moved us from a table to a booth as soon as one opened up). It wasn't until right before we left that the dining experience turned less than pleasant. My friend and I both went to use the restroom prior to leaving. While washing out hands, we noticed that someone had used the soap bottle to draw with soap on the countertop. My friend and I were talking about it while we washed our hands when a server walked it. I didn't get her name but looking back I wish I would have. She came into the restroom and began berating us, calling us childish while wiping up the soap on the restroom counter. My friend and I were both in shock at the way she was speaking to us, it was extremely rude and unprofessional. Overall, the good outweighs this one negative interaction but this one staff members negative attitude towards us definitely left us feeling unwelcome in Mr. Sushi and very disappointed overall. read more

The worst customer service. I went here to meet a friend for dinner on Monday 6/10/19 and I arrived at 4:55pm. After being seated I sat waiting for a server from 4:55-5:20. After seeing several people being seated and waited on, I asked the waitress helping the girls in the next booth if she could tell me who my server was or let them know they had customers waiting. After waiting another 10 min l decided to go to the bar where all the staff working that day was standing and sitting talking. I asked to speak to the manager and the chick pointed to a man who I believe sat me in the first place. He acted like he had never seen me before. After explains to the gentlemen (I use that term loosely) he asks me "so do you want to order something?" No stupid I don't want to order something (is what I thought to myself) I politely said "no, I'm going to Keystone and I will never come back." P.S. the bartender with the purple ponytail was outside in front of the door smoking weed, the place smells like pee and Keystones service, drinks and food were amazing. My girlfriend and I had lunch here and I can only say that I've had better. Our waiter was a bushy faced man who claimed the sushi was made fresh. Even more appalling was the fact this restaurant doesn't serve Lobster. So I ordered the California roll and my girlfriend had the Shrimp Tampura. 10 minutes later my roll arrived, without my gf's entree and l looked at the roll and knew there was absolutely no way possible the roll was prepared in 10 minutes. I took my first bite and I got the feeling this was day old or maybe several days old. The sections of sushi were small (8 pieces compared to 14 at KAZE,) ingredients=shrimp and acvocado were lacking. If it weren't for the Soy Sauce, there would have been no taste at all. The wasabi was dry and crusty, and I knew it wasn't fresh either. I've eaten sushi from local grocery stores that was many days old and it tasted much better than what I had today. Maybe they can pass this crap off on spoiled rotten college kids. Having had Sushi in every corner of the world, I know better. The only redeeming quality of this place was that the food we ordered was half-price. Indeed you do get what you pay for. I will know better than to recommend Mr. Sushi when there are far superior places in Cincinnati that actually serve fresh and tasty California Rolls.
