Great Boba's and even better service. We needed about 10 Boba drinks for a birthday party and it was easy to schedule an order online. We got the order confirmation right away and received a text a few hours later letting us know that they were ready to be picked up. When we picked up the order, they gave us extra ice for our cooler and they gave us tips on how to best keep them in the cooler (e.g., You don't want to have the boba containers to directly touch the ice as that can harden the bobas, and they gave us a box to store everything in the cooler). Glad that there is a Mr. Sun Tea closer to me now! Though it's quite off Castro St, but if you want to give a different boba spot a try, come here! When we came on Sunday around 4pm, they told us they ran out of all the boba. What a bummer! But, I did see them cooking more in the back. They could have just told me that... Anyhow, we got one of the speciality mango drinks and asked them to mix in mango boba and coconut jelly. It was good! But could have liked more mango jam to mix in with the slushee part of the drink. Was walking up and down Castro for the Mountain View Art and Wine festival and it was hot hot hot! My daughter and I were in dire need of a refreshing beverage and saw this place right across the street so decided to get our Boba on! LOL The young lady at the register was very friendly and helpful, and the young man making the tea was very nice as well. I decided upon the Mr. Sun mango green tea with crystal ball and mango boba. It was very enjoyable, good strong tea flavor, and sweet enough but not too sweet at regular sugar. There was a self-service kiosk available to place your order. I haven't been to any other places that serve housemade fruit flavored boba. I like the texture of boba, but sometimes I want a fruity topping to go with my fruit tea. Typically, I order lychee jelly, but at Mr. Sun, I can order a fruity boba to go with my fruit tea. I like to order some sort of fruit tea, like mango or peach green tea, and mango or strawberry boba. I think the boba is a little bit smaller and chewier than normal boba. You definitely can taste the different flavors. To order, you can use the touch screen kiosk. If there is a problem, there is also a cashier you can order at. When I've been there (usually in the middle of a weekday), the service has been fast. The inside is pretty spacious. There are a lot of tables inside and there are also some outside too. The parking situation is a little confusing. At first I thought there was only street parking, but after reading Yelp, I realized there was parking in the structure that you can access through the alley way behind the store. Was a huge fan of Mr Sun when they first opened up in Cupertino, and glad that they're on Castro (for how good a food street it's always been, we needed more boba options here - and now we're getting it! 2022 is definitely looking hype for Castro with the new food options, and it starts with Mr Sun!) Quality is pretty consistent with the Cupertino location, you're here for their style of tea (which not everyone is necessarily a fan of compared to more classical boba shops (e.g. TenRen), but they make a really good earl grey milk tea (which is used in all their boba milk teas), and their standout aspect is the handmade in-shop boba - in three flavors: mango, strawberry, and brown sugar. It's chewy, sometimes chunky, good flavor (it's not popping boba!), and may not be for everyone, but I'm a huge fan of it, definitely what makes Mr Sun unique to all the other boba spots in the Bay with their "standard" boba. Drink-wise rainbow milk tea is my go-to every time, it's the rainbow boba (even split of all three flavors) with earl grey milk tea, you get a hint of fruityness to go with the stronger tea flavor from the boba, but it's not so overpowering and surprisingly goes well together (which may be surprising when you initially think of the flavors). Some of my friends who don't want all 3 flavors will get a specific flavor such as brown sugar or mango (just don't get confused by mango boba milk tea as an actual mango milk tea - it's earl grey milk tea with mango boba! No mango milk tea itself, but they have mango green tea). Wouldn't recommend their "signature" of the Heineken, I get what they're trying to do with the beer substitute but it falls flat imo - get a rainbow milk tea and you can't go wrong! Parking is small and tight here especially since they share parking with Rose International Market and an apartment complex, but there are a few spots directly behind it (some in the garage are marked as for the shops so they aren't residential), else there's street parking right on El Camino Real before the store but you have to be aware of it cuz otherwise you'll miss it (especially if going fast before making the right turn to park). Else it's walkable from residential parking, no more than 5 mins away. Overall I wish I was still working on Castro to be walking distance from here (especially for the companies on the left, business side of Castro), and it's location is a bit further from if you got lunch in the restaurant area of Castro (5-10 min walk, but perfect to walk off the boba calories), but I'm glad it's here, definitely will be a stop for me on the way home especially if I'm taking El Camino Real! read more

Anyways back to the drinks. The Mr. Sun strawberry drink was actually amazing. I cannot say this enough times, but something between the nondairy creamer and great mix of fresh strawberry syrup made this drink exactly the kind of adult strawberry milk we all didn't know we needed.
